Nov 26, 2011I am missing something simple. I know how to bind asp.net datagrids and webforms, but this is my first time trying to bind to an object list of T in a windows form. (I am use to using datasets with datatables and im trying to get away from doing that).I have a simple object list that gets populated on the form load. However if I click a button to add a dummy record the datagridview does not display the new record added. The bindingNavigator (if clicked nextrecord) and "debug stops" all show that the new record I just added to the object list is there.
Even adding the datasource object in the watch list shows the new records are there. They are just not displaying.
I cannot seem to figure out as to why the new record is not being displayed in the datagridview when I can see the record got clearly added to the datasource.

However when I want to maximize the form the top of it goes behind the menu bar rather than just below it as I would expect. Minimize A Form To The Top Of The Desktop?
Feb 18, 2011I created an app that allows the user to look up pricing and search for items, to help speed up dealing with customer asking for pricing and what not. The form stays atop all windows at the top of the desktop, and is setup, currently, to shrink down (or up in this case) by double clicking on the title bar; I've disabled the minimize and maximize buttons.
How it is setup now is okay, but not as sleek as I want it to be. Is there any way to minimize the form to just the caption bar, like what happens with a command window; it minimizes to the a title bar above the start menu, but I want it to minimize to the top of the screen, almost blending into the title bar of the other open windows. Right now, the form is out of the clients way when minimized, or shrunk up, but it looks kind of lame, with a thin strip of the gray part the form still showing.

Apr 30, 2010I have a VB.Net project that I am running from a local server and I need to use the credentials the user is currently logged in with to upload a file to a folder I create on a SharePoint site on the same domain. I can get it to upload if I specify the credentials but it will not work with system.net.credentialcache.defaultcredentials. It just gives me 3 empty strings and I get a 401 unauthorized error. I have seen a few threads that say you cannot use it with Windows Forms Applications. Is this true? Here is my code:

May 18, 2009I am drawing graphics on the screen and when the form resizes it needs to clear and redraw all the graphics b/c the form is a different size and the graphics are supposed to scale with the size of the form. Well that works, but not for maximize or restore. So I had to look on the internet for how to capture the maximize and restore event. I got it from here and it does capture it, but it does all the events (such as redrawing the graphics) first and then it maximizes, which totally defeats the purpose. I tried to do Application. DoEvents but it still doesn't do it. Any way to have the graphics redraw AFTER it maximizes?

In all four forms I am using a label to show some transaction count based on network status. I have implemented a thread which gets the active form of application and setting up the text. The code works fine if application screen is active. If I minimize and open any other application, I am getting an null error exception.
How do I get the active form of an application?
