I have an application with the window caption of "Checker"
Inside of the application is a text box that has the text (window caption) "12345", but it is locked.
I would like to change the text to abcdefg or unlock the text box.
I build an application that have 3 buttons, but I need a code that once the user clicks on a button it will fill the another application(last running application window) textbox with "x" value...

How can i go about doing this? My program consists of a client and a server. When the server runs it listens for the client on the client side i enter the IP address and it connects so i can send remote commands to the remote system.

View 1 RepliesI am attempting to modify the payroll application below using an independent sub procedure rather than a Function procedure I'm not sure why things are not working after I managed to get the thing to work with the Fwt function. It's got to be something minor that I'm overloking. I get the correct amount for "gross pay and "FICA", but get "0.00" for FWT (it should be 35.78) and I get 369.40 for Net pay (should be 333.62)' This is the "CalcFWT Function" version

I have an app that is on a network drive. Around 100 people will be using the app.
Right now, I have 2 people testing it. They found a couple of bugs, I fixed them, and made the changes.
However, before I could update the app, they had to close it because I can't delete a file that is in use.
how I might prompt the user that the app will be closing in "x" amount of seconds for updating?
I have a completely basic program here that I want to simply take text from a textbox and the selection from a combobox, and then run the following:

Obviously WKID and PROCESS are the variables it will be pulling from the data that was put in by the user. That code was just in a simple batch file that I made with 2 variables. I am wanting to pull those 2 variables in when clicking the "kill process" button, it will run a command simliar to the above and end a process on a remote networked computer.

I have a requirement that i want to kill the process in the remote server and then delete some log files and update the registry editor and then finally log off and log in to the remote System. Now, I log off the remote system from my application. But i want to login to the system with valid user credentials from my application.
View 1 RepliesI think my title covers the high level, but for indepth; i need to be able to connect to a machine through and ip and set a enviroment variable, i have over 60 machines in different states all on one network that i need to do this for as well as someother things for the machine. currently this is being done through a PCEXEC command in a batch file they want more control on how this operates. I just really have no idea where to even start looking for the enviroment variable change(setting one on a machine that the app is running is simple we all know that. but on a external machine im lost) on a remote machine.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some sample code to get me started. I have briefly looked at .net remoting as a potential development path, from my understanding of how this works, the remoting architecture would require both a client and remote server component, (though I am not a 100% sure on this one), however if this is the case, then it will not fit the bill, as one of the fundamental requirements is that no additional software can be deployed on the servers which are to be monitored

I'm building a "dashboard" digital signage WPF program that will display various things on a large monitor mounted high up in the ceiling of my office.What I need to be able to do is control certain aspects of this program from my desktop. For example, there will be a TV window in the application with signal being provided by a TV tuner on the mini-computer connected to the monitor in the ceiling. What I want to be able to do is make a remote control to be able to change the channel etc. I'm confused at what technology to use. I've read about remoting, WCF, and simple TCPclient classes but I'm confused at which one would be better. I'm thinking it may be better to use WCF because what I think I need to do is make a function that will change the channel and accept channel numbers, etc from the remote control program. Am I on the right path?

I have an issue with my code. The application interacts with a MySQL database on a remote server, I have access to this server. When my app is running the insert into code I m getting this error: "Conversion from string "INSERT INTO phpvms_fsspireps(pil" to type 'Integer' is not valid."
