Repeating Two Popup Input Boxes Until User Press Cancel?

Dec 2, 2010

Is there a way to repeat two popup input boxes (in succession) until the user presses cancel?
Dim hours As Integer
Dim letterGrade As String
Do
hours = InputBox("Total credit hours", "Total credit hours", )
letterGrade = InputBox("Letter Grade", "Letter Grade", )
Loop
The input boxes continue to repeat but when I hit cancel nothing happens... I'm sure I'm missing something to tell it when I cancel to go back to the MainForm I just don't know what it is.....

Prompt The User To Enter The Beginning Number And The Ending Number

Oct 4, 2009

I am supposed to create a program in my VB.net class to do the following:

1. Prompt the user to enter the beginning number and the ending number.

2. Find the sum of the even numbers between these two values, inclusive.

[Code]...

We are currently using for next statements in the class. I know how to prompt for and utilize the numbers that are input etc. My problem is the EVEN numbers part. I obviously have to determine if the number is even and then use a step value of 2 from there. But not sure how to determine if number is even or odd (guessing to use mod, but totally lost).

Sub Routine - Textboxes Using For The User To Enter Number

Mar 12, 2012

If IsNumeric(Hundreds.Text) Then
HundredsTotal.Text = (CDec(Hundreds.Text) * 100).ToString("##,##0.00")
DollarAmtVar = CDec(HundredsTotal.Text)

[CODE]..

The above code is from a small program I have written. This test is done on about 30 textboxes I am using for the user to enter number.

The following is the sub routine that is called.

Sub ShowError()

MessageBox.Show(BoxName & " must be a number.")

End Sub

Here is what I want to do but it won't work.

BoxName.Select()

This is so I can put the focus on the different boxes that might contain an error.

Ask User To Input The Number Of Textboxes To Display

Feb 15, 2011

I was about to create a program about CPU Scheduling (SJF Nonpreemptive), Now, I want to ask the user to input the no. of processes ,then based from the user's input I would display exact no. of text boxes where the user could enter the value for each process then store it in an array. But I don't know how to code the text box., I'm new to VB.net and I'm used to it's 'drag and drop' nature. I just want to know how the code to output this text boxes. and is it possible to have an array of text boxes?

BtW I'm thinking of using 2 forms here

Form 1 for the USER INPUT OF THE NO. OF PROCESSES

Form 2 for the output of TEXT BOXES

Is this possible? During my testing I entered a word instead of numbers and the program crashed.

Application That Allows User To Select Or Enter Into A Combo Box Number Of Days A Person Will Work

Oct 28, 2009

Create an application that allows the user to select or enter into a combo box the number of days a person will work, and calculates the total amount of pay she will receive over that period of time. Salary is one penny the first day, two pennies the second day, four pennies the third say, and continuing to double each day.

The combo box must list the following items: 30, 180, 365, and 1000. Must be the default drop down box. Use a validating event procedure on the combo box.

The program should go through a loop once for each day, doubling the number of pennies with each iteration of the loop. You will need a running totl of the number of pennies that you add to with each iteration. To calculate the total amount of pay, multiply the total number of pennies by .01 and show the result in currency format.

Public Class Form1

Private Sub ComboBox1_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ComboBox1.SelectedIndexChanged

VS 2010 - Allow User To Input Data Into Spreadsheet / Table

Apr 13, 2011

I've worked out how to display charts in VB 2010 Express, but now I'm needing the user to input data into a spreadsheet/table that will be used within the program. I know that table is no longer available and neither is the OWC11 set. Is my remaining option then to use DataGridView? I know it is SQL based and I don't have much experience there yet, but I didn't want to commit to it if there is another method that would work just as well. The values that are put in by the user does not need to be preserved.

Standard Deviation Calculator - Random Number Of Numbers Input By User

Im working on writing a program for doing standard deviation and as of right now im running into one slight issue with subtracting my mean from the original numbers. I will post most of my code so you can get an over view but i mostly just want help on this one little part for now. Im going to be making a website for school and put some programming stuff on it so i wanted to make just some random programs for it so this is school related but not really homework. It's line 26 and 27 that this is relating to. When i put a stop in my code and look at the result of arrayDifferences it gives me 0.0 when it should be -1. I know i can go this route and say arrayDifferences(1) = arrayDifferences(1) - arrayAvg but seeing as how i want this to be a random number of numbers input by the user i cant do that.
