My For Loop Is Not Working Property, It Only Checks Only The First And Last Integers?
May 8, 2011
Im currently making a tower defense game and im on my last bug for the game and i cannot get it solved. For some reason my For Loop to check if a shot hits a person is not working properly. Ill set it to "For Me.x = 1 To NumOfFaces 'Const for 5' and itll only check the first enemy and last enemy. Here is the code to check for if a shot hits an enemy, this runs on a timer through out the game.
Private Sub HitFace()
For Me.x = 1 To NumOfFaces
If Shot1Firing = True Or Shot2Firing = True Or Shot3Firing = True Or Shot4Firing = True Or Shot5Firing = True Or Shot6Firing = True Then[code].....
Id like to use 4 integers in a For, Next loop. The integers are 1, 3, 7, 9. Is it possible to pass just these integers to the loop without putting them in an array or something similar?
I am a new member that has just start coding. Im currently working on a small application for a desktop that will give me information from my system. I have code that works but might not be great. I have code that checks that the network is connected but need it to keep checking and updating. I Have tryed loops, goto and timers but not having any luck. Can anyone help point me in right direction. Here is my code so far.
Public Class Form1
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load Label1.Text = TimeOfDay Label8.Text = "Time :"
I currently have a grid of 30 buttons, (6 x 5). So I named them btn1_1 - btn6_5
When the board loads up (this is for a jeopardy game) I have this
code For counter = 0 To 5 Btn1_#.text = counter * 200 Next
Is there ANY possible way to do that (replace # with the number of the counter.) I doubt there is, but it never hurts to ask!
As a side note, where is a good place to post the jeopardy game that I am making in these forums, i tried both the code bank and gaming forums but they are dreadfully inactive.... since it is in VB.NET, i was wondering if i could post it here.
It is still in the making, but I would really like some feedback as i worked hard on it and got stuck for 6 hours on the save/load feature that was getting messed up cuz of a difference from A and a lol.
I want to create a property for a custom textbox control that accepts only positive integers of a predefined range, say 1 to 20, with 8 as default. I can declare the property as Byte or UInt32, but that would still accept 0 and the upper limit is bound by the range of the type and there would be no default setting. When I use an Enumeration I'd have to create a list of all possible inputs, but when I want an upper limit of 1000
I am dealing with a situation which I do not understand why the loop never ends. I have attached this example. I do not know what I am doing wrong.I have 8 x 8 array of integers (TheConnectionsValue (7,7))
I have a class that needs to check for errors in the data contained in a object. The routines that will check for errors could be implemented in concrete interfaces of supertype IErrorCheck. That way error checks can be discrete and added or removed from the class that requests the error checks. Each IErrorCheck implementation would be programmed against the supertype IErrorCheck (Strategy). But it would be nice not to recompile when checks are added or removed. Is there an accepted procedure for abstracting the error checks all the way out of the program, such as to read the checks from a file?
I would like to loop through a number of integers to display the higher number, I would not know the higher or the lower number. How could I compare them to pick the higher one.
I tried coding for an application that will display the positive integers, negative integers and zero entered in a inputBox. for some reason it keeps crashing down.here is my code. paging all visual basic professionals. [code]
anything wrong with using datatype object and determine datatype in class property? I have a typed dataset and it has several integers columns that are null in the db. and when I make a call it throws exception.is there anythign wrong with setting it as object in my dataset.. changing the throw exception property to Nothing and passing it to my property as integer?
for each row in myDS.DataTable cRate.CustID = row.CustID next row
and in my class
Public Property CustID() As Integer Get Return _custID[code].............
Basically I have and array of integers that vary in size. I need to compare each number to each other number and display which number is repeated. For example:
Dim ints() As Integer = {1,2,2,5,4,6}
The number that shows up more than once is 2.
How can I run through the array and compare each integer with the numbers in the array. I tried a for loop but it didn't return the value I was looking for.
when i try to increment the for loop it jumps to case 5 of the select case statement. What i actually want is when i press the Next button it shows me a set of options which is case 2, but now it straight away jumps to case 5.
Private Sub btnNext_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnNext.Click Dim counter1 As Byte = 1 For counter1 = 1 To 5 Select Case counter1
What I'm trying to do is first calculate the deductions (0.5 and %7) amount form entered visa amount, then send remaining amount to cell "B6" in my workbook sheet1. if there is more than one visa then I need to see total of all visas after deductions in cell "B6". [code]
I have an array of labels on my form which are all named "lblLabel1" thru "lblLabel9", but I want to be able to take a users numeric input (lets say 3), and display the 3 on lblLabel1, then I need it to increment by one all the way to lblLabel9. How can I do this? I was thinking a loop so this is what I came up with, but it didn't work:
For b As Integer = 0 To 8 lblLabel(b).Text = String.Concat(intSomething, "+", intAnother, "=") Next 'Where b = the label number (I know it's zero based, I would change it later)
Dim cv As Integer Dim cc As Integer Dim CurrentValue As Double Dim ObsoleteValue As Double
[code]....
Basically this code works for the first column of the DataGridView. It sort of stops iterating after the last calculation of the row is performed and doesn't change the cc value at all. Meaning the loop gets stuck after the first iteration.
I have a list of string in an array. I'm loop through those strings and if the text of a combo box matches one of those strings, I want a message to appear. If they don't match, I want a method to be executed.
[CODE...]
The messagebox appears, but the method is still executed. Which means it isn't stopping when it finds the match. I tried exiting the loop, but it still doesn't work.
Basically, what I'm doing is navigating to a website with a backgroundworker. In the WebBrowser1_DocumentCompleted event, I put code to fill in a form and I set the value of a boolean called "formFinished" to true once the form has been finished and submitted. The problem I'm having is that it only posts data to the second website, no matter the order of the websites. I'm wondering how this is possible since I have a boolean in state which only gets set to true once the first form has been submitted. So I have no clue as to why it only submits the second one, but not the first one.
I have a dropdownlistbox in a webform. When the page loads, it displays the initial text, that is ok. When selection is made, it works ok. But when i tried using the text property ie msgbox(cbomodel.text), what shows in the previous text. The newly selected item is never recognized. Is there a way to bind the text to the listbox after a selection is made?
Is there any reason why a picture box wouldn't be saving the image location and loading it into the box the next time the window loads through the picture box property binding 'ImageLocation'?
I'm using a DO interation to loop a function I'm using to test for internet connectivity. The code is working fine, except that when one of the tests is satisfied the loop stops. I want this to continue in the background while the program is running. How can I get this to work?
Private Sub checkInternet() Dim InetChecker As Boolean InetChecker = CheckForInternetConnection() Do While LabelCount.Text <> "" Thread.Sleep(10) [Code] .....
I have a form with a series of basic objects,, a list box a few buttons, a few text boxes and a few labels..
Anchor property works just fine on all of them except one text box and one label. The property is clearly SET on both objects and I can't, for the love of me, figure out what is making these two act "disobediently".
I have a custom class and my dependency properties won't work with bindings unless I declare the class as a static resource. My xaml: <sdk:Frame prism:RegionManager.RegionName="MainContentRegion"> <sdk:Frame.ContentLoader> <myLibrary:RegionNavigationContentLoader RegionManager="{Binding RegionManager}" RegionName="MainContentRegion" /> [Code] .....
