I have been trying to add First Previous Next Last buttons to my windows form (visual studio 2008), everything I have tried or found does not work.

how to generate code from user input. I have a program that connects with an access database and displayed the results of a query in a series of textbox which are created at runtime. This all seems to work but the problem is with my next, previous buttons they just dont seem to work now and they did before. There must be some kind of problem with my code.

Is it easier to print a VB.net windows form in Visual Studio 2010?
I have been struggling with this - the PrintForm utility in the Powerpack only prints the displayed portion of the current form.
I spent a lot of time creating a process which loops through each control on my form, converts to a bitmap, and drops it on the print document, only to finally discover that the RichTextBox control (which I used extensively) does not include a functional DrawToBitmap method.
I have already researched various ways of managing this, but if VS2010 will do it without jumping through the hoops then I'll spring for it like the sucker I am.
I can do this in Access and VB6, I believe, so I don't think this is an unreasonable expectation.
I would like for my program to navigate via textbox1.text with multiple lines and multiple url links inside of it. I know how to make the webbrowser1.navigate via textbox1.text with multiple lines, however I want my webbrowser to navigate to each url every 1-1.5 seconds once button1 is clicked. Yes, my webbrowser1 will navigate to the specified urls via the textbox1.text (multilines) with a button click, but I need the webbrowser1 to navigate in a order sequence from top to bottom of Textbox1.text (multiplelines) every 1 second. I have a project with several forms. I need some of them to be in a modal window. How do you set this to be true? Also, when some of the forms are shown I need one of the buttons on the previous screen to be active.

I've decided to learn Visual Basic .Net as this is what some of my colleagues work with, and this will allow me to work with them on projects.I have purchased Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 Step by Step and downloaded the sample files. When I am trying to debug the first sample application (a Windows form), it is telling me that it can't load System.Drawing V4.0.0.0. However, if I create a new Windows Form application (C# or VB.Net) this works fine.
I had a look at the References tab in the project settings and System.Windows.Forms is referenced, but the version referenced is 2.0.0.0. I have removed and re-added this reference and it stays at 2.0.0.0 and I still get the error.Does anybody have any ideas as to what may be going on?
I produced an MSI for a small VB.net application I need to run on an Intermec 730 pocket PC but get the message "Setup is not a valid Pocket PC application" when trying to install it. What do I need to output the project in the correct format? I've tried changing the target platform but it only has x64 and x86 listed.

I get the message "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Visual Studio 2008..." whenever I build the install project for my application. It configures VS for a while, then builds the project. This does not happen when I build the vb.net application itself, only the installation project in the same solution. This occurs on applications using the Leadtools library, but not others.

The button will send me to a link if I will click on him. I got the link path (After calling to a Sub doing it) in a String call SitePath. Now after I got the button's path I tried to navigate the WebBrowser again to the new path. But, the WebBrowser navigates again to the same Web Page The Site do not let me to enter the link by program only manually when I click on the button. Is there a way to click on this button by program or other way to enter the path?

I am running Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Professional on a Windows 7 system.While working on a visual basic exercise in chapter 4 of the Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 Step by Step book on the MyMenu program I added a Toolstrip to my form and then I was trying to perform the add OpenFileDialog and ColorDialog controls to the component tray as described at the bottom of page 111 under Using Dialog Box Controls. I could never get the controls to appear in the component tray as instructed in the book.
I added a toolstrip to the form. According to my instructions I should be able to click on the Open file icon on the toolstrip to select it and then click anywhere else on the form. When I do that, the OpenFileDialog should appear on the component tray where I can then select it to enter code. This however does not happen.The only way I was able to get them to appear in the component tray was by opening the Menu program supplied on the DVD under chapter 4, selecting both of the above controls on the component tray, right clicking and then press copy. I then closed the Menu program and opened the MyMenu program that I created and then I was able to paste the two object controls to the component tray.
I went back to the original Menu program to see if I was able to place any other controls on the component tray by following the instructions in the book but was not able to. I also tried the same thing with MyMenu and it also still would not work.I have been unable to find anything that might explain why the component tray does not work as explained. Perhaps there is some setting somewhere that needs changed, but all searches have been unsuccessful.
PS. I have entered this on one of the other MicroSoft forums and although it has gotten multiple views I have not yet received any feedback.I also get the following error: Cannot add component of type 'ToolStripButton' to container of type 'form'.
Will i be able to successfully install 2010 beta 2 side by side 2008? because i want to test 2010 features and some development toolkits such as silverlight while i don't want to uninstall my visual studio 2008 professional.

I have a Visual Basic project and when working and modifying code, the compiler will crash and then a message will say something like "Microsoft visual studio encountered a problem and was shut down." I've tried editing code from the solution and the project. Both produce the error. Usually occurs when adding an "IF...Then..." condition. May work for hours but then crash. Solution will compile and build.
View 3 RepliesWithin my Visual Studio 2008 VB.Net project I am opening multiple forms after setting the form (that is opening) to be an mdichild of the main form. This works in really well in most of my forms except one. I am doing the exact same thing for all of them.
Basically I declare the new form:

I know this works because if I remove frm.MdiParent = Me.MdiParent in the main form and change Me.Show() to Me.ShowDialog() in the child form then it works perfectly. Right now (for only one form) it shows the form for only a second (looks like a flicker when staring at the program) and then closes it.
I have embedded the WMP control in my Visual Studio 2010 app which works on windows 7 (Framework 4.0), but installing the app on winXP, I get the following error:

I guess this is a reference issue, but I have added references to WMP libraries (axinterop.wmplib.dll and interop.wmplib.dll). The WMP works on the XP machine, but not when called from my application.I have searched the web now for 5 days and changed references, and reinstalled the media player on the XP machine, but nothing works.
