1) Login to forum and get SID
2) Navigate to a page (with SID) and retrieve required code.

View 10 RepliesI'm using a WebBrowser control in my current program in a bit of a bastardized way: I don't use it visually, I just use it because I'm more familiar with its events.
So, basically, I create a WebBrowser control and navigate to a page to login. Then, when logged in, I create a new WebBrowser control and navigate to a different page.
I've used this program for four months with no difficulty. Starting today, though, the second phase of that has been going really, really slowly. What used to take 3-5 seconds is taking 25-30 seconds. It still works eventually, it just takes a while.
Usually I would assume this was a server problem. However, navigating to the exact same URL in Firefox happens extremely quickly. Weirder still, within the program there is a user WebBrowser control -- I can copy/paste the URL the previous (not visible) WebBrowser was navigating toward into this user WebBrowser, and it goes just fine.
What in the world could be holding up this other "custom" WebBrowser? I don't even know where to begin in diagnosing this.It might be important to note that the site this is working based off recently underwent some changes -- but I can't imagine why that would affect only these "custom" WebBrowsers and not the user one in the same program.
I have writtine a program in VB 2008 that uses "webrowser1.navigate" in a browser that I created on a form in my application, so that I could add buttons for other functions on that Form and to load a web page with Flash content. Everything seems to work fine on 32 bit machines but, on 64 bit machines when the web page is loaded, Falsh content does not work and I get a Security Warning asking "Do you want to install this software?" and the software is Adobe Flash Player. IE is 32 bit (on 64 bit machine) and has Flash Player installed and the Flash content works for this web page using IE.Is ther some code that I should add or a property that I should change on the VB 2008 Form containing the browser that I created, so that the Flash content will work?

However, I can't seem to reference that text field through the javascript, since the form begins on the master page. The following line will come up bogus: document.form1.txtFindUser.value = blah.responseText; This is because form1 is defined on the master page, while txtFindUser is on the current page.

Does anyone know why a Page_Load would be called twice on a page when requesting an aspx page?I am using .Net 2.0 with the new .net 1.1 compilation model installed. Whenever I request a page, the Page_Load on the aspx page appears to be called twice, so does the Page_Load on and user controls added to that page.

The problem is one of my htmlcontrols on content page i change on the LoadComplete event server side of the content page. I also have some code for disabling controls on the Master Page PreRender event. For some reason all controls on the aspx side go through the Master Page prerender except the ones that i change on the LoadComplete side. How can i make sure the entire content page loads and then the Master Page PreRender event is called, making all the controls go through that event.

So what I want to do is get the number of <tag> tags in the <section> tag and attribute that value to the NumberTags variable. Oh by the way <tag> tags may have other tags inside them but I only need the number of <tag> tags. I was using the MyIterator.Count command but then I remembered that that will only get the number of <category> tags in the XML File.

I'm new to VB and have bought a book (Database Access with Visual Basic)that I'm trying to follow but ran into problem right away.Have created a table (tblCustomer) and populated it with a few lines of data then I have a form with two textboxes connected to the table. I have a section of code that builds a table as the user enters information. I'm having trouble figuring out how to navigate through this table. There is a NEXT button and a BACK button. When they hit NEXT, either the next row loads, or the textboxes are emptied out. en they hit BACK, if there is text in the textboxes, save it, then load the row above current one. The code I have now will work until you go back too many times. You can go back, then forward, but it has trouble seeing the end of the table. And for some reason, I get phantom rows in between, but not every time. The rest of the code, where this table gets saved to the server, all works. Just navigating the table is giving me trouble.
