I have just recently started using vb.net from vb6. I have written a program that retrieves certain posts from a forum. To clarify, it does this:
1) Login to forum and get SID
2) Navigate to a page (with SID) and retrieve required code.
Thats it.To retrieve the page source, im using this:

How do you navigate to a url in a webbrowser and wait for a specific time period like say 30 sec before inputting data into fields in a form? I know how to use WebBrowser1.DocumentCompleted but I don't want to use wait for the complete website to download. There are websites that don't completely download so I don't want to hang up the program.I tried using Sleep(30000) but that halts the program, it doesn't load the browser for a specific time period.
View 5 RepliesOk i want the browser to so something like this:
VB Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("Login").SetAttribute("Value",TextBox1.Text) WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("pass").SetAttribute("Value",TextBox2.Text) WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("login).InvokeMember("click") 'now the problem is that the following statments finishes up before the preceding statment

I'm using a webbrowser control in my program and I navigate to a page that uses sessions. I need to delete them somehow and I tried to close IE and enter it again and it worked, the sessions were deleted. But I've done it manually, and I need to do it through my program, so is there a way to imitate the closing and reopening of my webbrowser control?

View 10 RepliesI'm using a WebBrowser control in my current program in a bit of a bastardized way: I don't use it visually, I just use it because I'm more familiar with its events.
So, basically, I create a WebBrowser control and navigate to a page to login. Then, when logged in, I create a new WebBrowser control and navigate to a different page.
I've used this program for four months with no difficulty. Starting today, though, the second phase of that has been going really, really slowly. What used to take 3-5 seconds is taking 25-30 seconds. It still works eventually, it just takes a while.
Usually I would assume this was a server problem. However, navigating to the exact same URL in Firefox happens extremely quickly. Weirder still, within the program there is a user WebBrowser control -- I can copy/paste the URL the previous (not visible) WebBrowser was navigating toward into this user WebBrowser, and it goes just fine.
What in the world could be holding up this other "custom" WebBrowser? I don't even know where to begin in diagnosing this.It might be important to note that the site this is working based off recently underwent some changes -- but I can't imagine why that would affect only these "custom" WebBrowsers and not the user one in the same program.
I have writtine a program in VB 2008 that uses "webrowser1.navigate" in a browser that I created on a form in my application, so that I could add buttons for other functions on that Form and to load a web page with Flash content. Everything seems to work fine on 32 bit machines but, on 64 bit machines when the web page is loaded, Falsh content does not work and I get a Security Warning asking "Do you want to install this software?" and the software is Adobe Flash Player. IE is 32 bit (on 64 bit machine) and has Flash Player installed and the Flash content works for this web page using IE.Is ther some code that I should add or a property that I should change on the VB 2008 Form containing the browser that I created, so that the Flash content will work?
View 13 RepliesI have a web browser control, what I use is:
Ret = (MainBrowser.ReadyState <> WebBrowserReadyState.Complete Or MainBrowser.IsBusy)
If ret is true, not loaded, otherwise, loaded. It works fine on winxp, however, on vista, most times, it works, sometimes, not. Do I have to use documentcomplete for this? The page is loaded from another thread, does it matter?
I have a VB.Net project that creates a new Webbrowser instance which then navigates to a page in order to read the HTML into a variable ( then modify this before displaying in a visable webbrowser). The issue i have is that the webbrowser navigate just reads the page from the cache and does not read it from the server.

I need to address a file in my code. this file isn't located in my main project, but in a library project. When i call AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory, i end up in the start project's (let's call it mainproject) debug folder. What i want to to is call appdomain.cd.bd and go up 3 levels, so i leave debug, then bin and then mainproject. Then i would navigate to libraryproject and to folder where file is located.
What i've tried so far is do AD.CD.BD.... or AD.CD.BD/../.. I thought i remembered those, but it's a no go.

I am creating a notes software. This is just a simple application that will show the data from the database which are Notes_Title, Due_Date, Priority. I display the data with datagridview. I also added a checkbox for each row to the datagridview to mark as check if the Notes_title is already done. In displaying the data, I need to display only a 5 data in a row.So, I create a another CLASS that will only show 5 rows per page. But the PROBLEM is, if I mark the checkbox as check in the first page then if I turn it to the next page the checkbox in the first page that mark as check will be uncheck if I turn it back to the first page. The mark check in the checkbox will mark as uncheck if I turn the page. How can I make it mark as check even if I turn the pages? And How can I save the data row as done if I check

Once again I'm migrating to vb.net finally from vb6 and trying to get some of my old code to work. I was using the following code to let something finish running and then after the time set go to the next.

Sleep just stops the code period but this actually runs the piece before it and then continues. I put it all into vb.net and it threw out an error with DoEvents.
