I need to have two pieces of software, made in vb where one encrypts the contents of a .txt file, and the other decrypts it, and then picks one word at random and displays it each time a button is pressed, but never displays the same word. Or, if there was a way to hard code it into the program as there is only 5 words that would be better.

I have a label that is supposed to display a word for 5 seconds and then move down the list in a text file and display the next word.I'm oddly able to make it work in random mode, but not going down the list in order.. random would be ok if used words didn't come up again.

X = Minimum Number
Y = Maximum Number
But the problem is i wanted to know if there is a better random function than the one i have.
Because right now i put
Min = 1
Max= 2
and it keeps picking 1
if i had min =1 and max =2 i want it to pick 1 sometimes and 2 sometimes
and now i tried min = 1 max = 3 and it never picks 3, it only picks 1 and 2

I have recently decided to give .net another chance, but i have a few questions about it before i get really into it. RE: Files, I use random access files to store data as opposed to databases (namely i don't see the need for a database for storing so little information(records <200 max) knowing that it is an older system and less "cool" i don't care...) Will vs2010 express read, write to random access files? Would it be done kind of like vb6 (which is my current vb version)? I will be needing to print the text of rich text boxes, is vs2010 express capable of doing this?

However, after deployment, my application can't find any of the Word document files. My app is a Reader for personal use. I have it setup By Books of the Bible and by Chapters and verses.
What I would like to be able to do, is to search for Pharaoh (any word) in a textbox, click the Search Button, and every occurrence of Pharaoh (not just the word, but the entire Verse: EX: Gen Ch7:14 Blah Blah Blah Pharaoh Blah Blah. The word in the textbox will display for a random time 1min to 7 min, then the textbox displays another word randomly selected from the word list.
