Project Implimentation - Run Program - Asks For The Complete Path Of Database
Mar 11, 2010
I have a problem i have made setup of my project when i install it and run the program it asks for the complete path of database like this "C:PaymentsystemPaymentSysteminDebug".
Is there any way i want to change the path i mean i want to place database in d drive.
I know that here there is a similar question but I would like, if possible, to be able to define a relative path for 'Start External Program' or any workaround that do not constrain me to add a complete new empty project to my solution. I am using VB.NET in Visual Studio 2010 environment developing WinForms apps.
1 person costs $695.00 2-4 people costs $545 5-8 people costs $480 8 or more costs $395
If the company has been before they get a 15% discount and no company can have more than 16 people. The program asks that the user enters valid data.?? (error msg boxes)
Is there any literature which guides a user through the steps of deploying a vb project created with VS 2010 Professional and incorporating SQL 2008RE Database?
I have a VB project which incorporates 2 databases - 1 Access Db and 1 SQL Db. The project compiles and runs beautifully. However, after adding the databases in the project as existing items and deploying, the project opens/runs, but when I try to login the application I keep getting an error message telling me that the path to the .mdb (Access) database is not a valid path. I don't have a clue what else to do.
1) I want my database should save on default location unlike this:
Dim connectionstring As String = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:Contacts3mycontacts.mdb;Persist Security Info=False"
Since i'm deploying my project on another computer itz showing me an error of database connection. Then again i've to make one folder of Contacts3 in C drive and then itz connecting the database.please let me know how can i deploy my database as default.
2)When i'm deploying my project on server itz not running and the same pfoject is running on different computers.Itz showing me security errors.

I've got a datable on my form, it loads the data from the database and displays it just fine but when i add data to it it doesn't save it to the database... I don't know why but the save button on the data navigator is disabled by default but even when i enable it, enter data and click it, it doesn't save the data. (i dont think its the button i just thought it's worth mentioning that the save button is disabled by default when you drag a data table onto a form)
To create a program that asks for input then uses an else statement to create a handling fee balance.
Input: sales record - first name, last name, purchase amount, balance before purchase
Output: report - full name, old balance, purchase amount, handling fee, new balance
Definitions: handling fee is 5% of the old balance if the old balance is less than $1000.00 else it is 2% new balance = old balance + purchase + handling fee
Processing: Ask for and receive sales information Calculate new balance Print output report End the program when a purchase amount of 9999.99 is entered
I have to make a basic program that: Create a program with a simple interface that
1. Asks the user type his/her email address into a textbox.
2. When the user clicks the "Evaluate Email Address" button, one of two message boxes pops up: "That is a valid email address!" with an "Information" icon, or "That is an invalid email address!" and on a second line, "Please retype your email address.", with an "Exclamation" icon
3. To be considered valid, the email address must -include an "@" symbol, and -it must end in either ".com", ".net", or ".org" or ".edu" (I don't know how to check a string and test if its last four characters end with any of these and make it say not valid email address. I think I might have to use a case statement)

I'm trying to tie the AJAX autocomplete control to a textbox and pull the results from an sql database using VB. Anyone know how to do this? I found plenty of examples in c but I need to do it in VB. Here's code for C I guess but I can't figure out how to convert it to VB.
[WebMethod] public string[] GetCountryInfo(string prefixText) { int count = 10;
When setting up the Ajax Control Toolkit's AutoComplete control, it creates an utoComplete.asmx and a AutoComplete.vb file. The AutoComplete.vb file automatically ends up in the App_Code folder. I was hoping to move all of these styled-classes into a separate namespace, but the compiler simply does not dig it. Is this possible, or must it be within the presentation layer to access the "Web" related namespaces?
