Pull Object And Its Code From 1 Form, And Display It On Another?

I might be going about this all wrong, but i've been reading up on some stuff, and am venturing into stuff i've never dealt with before. example: when people do things like, dim xxx as new form1
then xxx.show...how do you design that xxx form? and get the objects placed where you want it? Design an object on form2. Say Panel, populate it the way I want it. Code it the way I want it.Then, say on form1, i push a button, and it will display the panel(on form2) on form1?

I'm currently working on a Capstone Point of Sales project. We're using a multi-column list box to pull up the item #, Item Name, Quantity(may be deleted) and Price. Form A accepts user input, closes and calls Form B when user wants to see results. Form B starts calculations automatically. Meanwhile, it partially displays and can disappear completely leaving an empty window. The calculations can take some time. It seems as if a form needs code to stop running and be awaiting user input before it finishes drawing itself. Is there a way to circumvent this? Aside from the aesthetics, I would like user to see progress reports posted to status bar and without needing to press another button (so removing automatic start). Form B has only a return button for input.
I have tried various places for Me.Show and addressing the form's controls from the modules it uses.

I am in need of being able to show a user the contents of a Oracle stored procedure. I have no idea of how to go about actually getting and then displaying the code contained in a stored procedure. Does anyone know of a way? I know how to call and execute a stored procedure but is about it. I am developing using VB.NET 2010 with Oracle 10G as my back end.

I am building a program using VS 2010.It needs to be a set of forms that allows a manager to log in so that data entry people can enter in data based on another form.I also need to create a hot key set up that pulls up another form so that a supervisor can pull up the information that employees have entered.I have my solution file that I can put up for a download if needs be to see what I'm talking about. I don't think it should be that hard to make this program work.

how to pull the "modifytimestamp" and "CreateTimeStamp" property values from a computer object in AD? These properties are not AD objects but if I do properties("modifytimestamp").value, the return string is that of a collection. When I do properties("modifytimestamp").count it returns 0 as the value so therefore there is no index. How do I return these values?

I'm converting an application from VB6 to VB.NET, and am required to declare and initialise some controls in code (control arrays). I have it declared globally, so other forms can access the data stored within them, and then I try to manipulate them inside the Form_Load() sub:

Private Sub Form_Load() Handles Me.Load
lblDataZone(0) = New Label

The error I get says "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". I feel like I'm missing something huge here, but what's wrong with it?

I stumbled upon the statement "If Me IsNot Nothing" several times. Often I find this in WinForms samples.I dont't get the sense or meaning of this line. "Me" refers to the current Object or Form, so if I am executing this line "Me" can't be Nothing. Or am I missing something here?Is there a way that Code of an Object is executing even when the current Object is Nothing?

Limited to using v2.0 of .Net framework (we use VB.net) due to environmental constraints on our servers.I've got an ASP.net webpage which pulls data from a webservice that performs checks on user accounts in active directory. Operators can check multiple accounts at one time using the web interface. The webservice returns a list(of AccountCheck) objects which themselves contain single properties like username, email address, and List(of AccountError) objects which contain multiple properties.[code]What I want to do is using some kind of repeater, create multiple panels or divs which contain labels showing the username, email etc, and a gridview which has the accounterror list bound to it to show all the errors. The users could be checking 2, 5, 7 accounts at once, and is dynamic.

I am trying to get information to be pulled out of a database and show in text boxes on another form (frmviewsdets). The error occurs when it gets to the line frmviewsdets.txtsnumber.Text = rdr("StudentNumber") and even when a breakpoint is applied there it just moves on to the next and so on.
I have tried to show frmviewsdets before I pull the data out of the database beut I get the same message.

I have a solution with several Projects in it. There is a Windows App project (called ImportClient), and a Class Library (Import.Library). The Import.Library has functions to perform data imports (I have other applications in the solution that also need to call it). But the interactive application, I want to be able to pass in some form controls, and have it update the GUI. No problem. But, I also want to execute a DoEvents() so that the loop execution doesn't hang other interaction to the app.
So, ImportClient has a reference to Import.Library. But I can't add a reference to ImportClient to the Import.Library, because the compiler complains about circular reference, etc. I don't know how else to define the My.Application object of ImportClient as a parameter to the data function in ImportLibrary.
(I realize this is a dumb question - problem is, for this project I have a tight timeline, and haven't learned how to do the BackgroundWorker process. If you think I could pick it up quickly, I'm open to some hints about how to update the progress bar on the GUI, and how to pause / cancel the background task.)

I created a typed dataset a day or so ago, then I added a whole bunch of tableadapter/tables with some relationships etc... suddenly out of nowhere it decides my dataset "is not defined". everywhere in my code where i use this dataset now has an error. I tried not to pull out my hair and do a Clean then Rebuild solution... out of nowhere it just refuses to generate code. Object reference not set to an instance of an Object. It would be nice if it was my object so i could find it but it's not.
Curiously I also lost the little database icon on the dataset in the solution explorer.I can still open it in the designer and preview my queries etc... it just wont make the code. it's driving me insane. anyone got a solution?

I've got 3 forms that have exactly the same functions, so I decided to create an interface.

At this point, objfrmExample is now instantiated, even though I've not done a "objfrmExpample = new [what-goes-here?] " and I'm curious as to why.I could possibly guess that because you cannot instantiate an interface variable, then vb.net automatically creates an instance. But thats just a guess. The question is , what is meant by declaring a variable of type Interface, and how does it work?

I have a problem in timers, I want to display 2 forms each one after 3 and 5, how to do that? I mean when the first form appears, after 3 seconds another one will appear, then after 5 seconds the second will appear. I have a code where someone gave me here but its for message box only, thus I modify it to put a form still does not work. Here the code I put in the timer below:
