I'm trying to lern VS 2010 from VB 6 and one of the things i'm hawing a problem whid is control array.In vb 6 if you create a text box it's named "Text1" and if you yust copy it and paste it it renames to "Text1(0)" and the new one's name is "Text1(0)" and the code would lock like this

The question on the form is "How many letters are in the word " ". The " " is a textbox. All this will start when the click on a picture of a clock. I am using the WebBrowser control with VB.Net (2010 Express) to get exchange rates from ft.com. (Note: I realise that there are simpler ways of getting exchange rates, but it is a learning exercise as much as anything else). I am navigating to a webpage, setting the values of a textbox and two listboxes, and then trying to get the resulting exchange rate which will be displayed as text. Trouble is, the result is not being displayed. I probably need to trigger an event to force the page to update, but I have tried this and it hasn't worked. [code] The 'onchange' event is intended to trigger an update, but it doesn't. I have tried a few variations without success (including "invokeMember"). So at the moment the amount and the to/from currencies are correctly set on the page, but the resulting rate is not shown.
i have three text boxes that the user will input numerical data into to determine the area of an object. i need the result of my calculation to be displayed in a label but i cant figure it out.
I am encountering the following issue So i have a device that sends stuff at the serial port, i then parse it and put it into an array of bytes like that:

I'm trying to do this division and the result to be displayed on a eight decimal number.

The value or R1 on this case is 273.4 but it varies according with the result obtained so I can not allocate a constant number to r1. The problem is the result that I am getting is 4,55000000 instead of 4.5566666
I've used a numericupdown to select a number and then save it to a .dat file When i try to display the integer in a listbox, it appears as a random sequence of numbers.
for example, if i input 200 into the numbericupdown, when displayed in the listbox, it is shown as 538976366
Is it an error with the properties with either the numericupdown or the listbox? or do you need to see my code?

I'm converting a user generated list box to an array and then generating a user defined number of random strings and placing it in a textbox.The code I have works fine as it will generate the number of random strings the user wants, except sometimes a line is blank at the top of the list but is counted as a string.

This is are the parts of my system where my problem occurs: - Search Button - List Box1 - TotalTextbox - Button - SQL Database with a Column named "Amount" and it only contains numbers Datatype is System.String
So, basically a user clicks the Search button and searches for a data in the SQL Database, and the result of the search displays in different Listboxes including the "Amount" Column from the database, which has it's own Listbox named "Listbox1". the Listbox is now filled with numbers.
Goal: The goal is to get the Sum of all the "Numbers" Displayed in the Listbox1, and the Total is then Displayed into a Textbox via using Click event or automatically.

I was trying to use the ToolTip class as shown in the sample code below. errorToolTip.Show(toolTipValue, control, (control.Location.X + control.Width) / 15, (control.Location.Y / 15) , 4000) To place the tooltip adjacent to textbox object.
Problem is: the above code is placing the tool tip text in the correct location for few textbox controls and in wrong location for few textbox controls.
Information: 1. Application was in VB6 earlier and is mirgrated to .NET now. 2. All the forms in the application are UserControls embedded in WindowsForm. 3. In the above code, X and Y locations, I am converting them from Twips to Pixels. How to manage to have the tooltip text exactly adjacent to the textbox control for all?

It's a list of computer systems, basically, that the user can purchase.I need to read this file, line-by-line, into an array. Let's call this array csvline().The first line of the text file would stored in csvline(0). Line two would be stored in csvline(1). And so on. (I've started with zero because that's where VB starts its arrays). A drop-down list would then enable the user to select 1, 2 or 3 (or however many lines/systems are stored in the file). Upon selecting a number - say, 1 - csvline(0) would be displayed inside a textbox (textbox1, let's say). If 2 was selected, csvline(1) would be displayed, and so on.
It's not the formatting I need help with, though; that's the easy part. I just need someone to help teach me how to read a CSV file line-by-line, putting each line into a string array - csvlines(count) - then increment count by one so that the next line is read into another slot.So far, I've been able to paste the numbers of each system into an combobox:

If I then put it as an array, ie: csvalue() = csvtranslator.ReadLine , I then get a different error message:"Error 1 Number of indices is less than the number of dimensions of the indexed array."

VBA is complaining about the System.Objects my question is how the heck are you supposed to pass and return arrays from .NET to VBA. Also the data that will be in the ArrayRes() is mixed type, its not just strings etc, its an array of arrays that can contain strings, integers doubles etc.I chose VB .NET because I assumed it would be possible to map to VBA easier.if System. Object and Arrays in VB .NET is not the way, ie maybe theres another way via collections or lists, then Im open to that. I just need to get this data into VBA.Also I could move over to C# if needs be.
I am interested in developing a multi-language program that will have a main .NET GUI but will perform calculations by calling procedures from a Fortran95 dynamic link library file. Right now I am just playing around with a very simple project in order to get the interoperability between the .NET framework and a Fortran95 (*.dll) file working correctly. So far, I've been able to pass the Fortran95 (*.dll) file an array from VB, sum all the elements of the array using an intrinsic Fortran function, and pass the scalar result back to the .NET framework with no problem. However, if I try passing Fortran the exact same array, construct the transpose of that array using another intrinsic Fortran function, and try passing the transposed array back to the .NET framework I keep throwing an exception. I am not a programming wiz, but it appears that when Fortran stores an array in memory, the .NET framework doesn't know how to read that. I am looking for some guidance on how to pass an array from the Fortran95 (*.dll) file back to the .NET framework.
When a user clicks the + button on the binding navigator, I want to set the displayed item of acombobox to the value displayed in a label. The combobox is bound to a field in the table. Theproblemis that when the user clicks to add a new record the combobox is cleared and they forget to select a value before they click save.
