VS 2008 Dividing Numbers - Result To Be Displayed On A Eight Decimal Number

Jul 30, 2009

I'm trying to do this division and the result to be displayed on a eight decimal number.

Dim r1 As Integer
Dim r2 As Double
r1 = Val(TextBox16.Text)
r2 = r1 / 60
TextBox18.Text = FormatNumber(r2, 8)

The value or R1 on this case is 273.4 but it varies according with the result obtained so I can not allocate a constant number to r1. The problem is the result that I am getting is 4,55000000 instead of 4.5566666

Code For Dividing A Stopwatch Result By 60 Program 2008?

Feb 22, 2010

I have a stopwatch in my program. I start the stopwatch with the start button I created. When I stop it it gives the results of the time in a label that I have named labelTime. I have a Calculate button I have created. I also have a label I have named calcResult. I want to click the Calculate button and divide the stopwatch result (labelTime) by 60. I want the results of this calculation to be displayed in the label calcResult. I keep getting errors saying labelTime is a string value. I believe I will need my calcResult to be a Decimal.

Rounding Up Decimal Numbers To The Nearest 2 Decimal Places?

Apr 17, 2010

How would I go about rounding up decimal numbers to the nearest 2 decimal places? For example $7.0000032 would be $7.01 In theory, VB would make it $7.00 but if it is > $7.00, I want it to reflect that to the nearest penny... so $3.0000001 would be $3.01

VS 2010 Result Is Not Being Displayed

Sep 13, 2011

I am using the WebBrowser control with VB.Net (2010 Express) to get exchange rates from ft.com. (Note: I realise that there are simpler ways of getting exchange rates, but it is a learning exercise as much as anything else). I am navigating to a webpage, setting the values of a textbox and two listboxes, and then trying to get the resulting exchange rate which will be displayed as text. Trouble is, the result is not being displayed. I probably need to trigger an event to force the page to update, but I have tried this and it hasn't worked. [code] The 'onchange' event is intended to trigger an update, but it doesn't. I have tried a few variations without success (including "invokeMember"). So at the moment the amount and the to/from currencies are correctly set on the page, but the resulting rate is not shown.

Sum Numbers In Listbox - Add All Numbers Together And Display The Result In A Label

Jan 10, 2010

I'm using VB08. I've populated a listbox with numbers and I want to add all those numbers together and display the result in a Label. I've heard about using parse but I don't understand exactly how it works.

This is the code that I have that i think should work.

Dim lblTotal As Decimal
Dim sum As Double
For Each decAdded As Decimal In Me.lstRunningTotal.Items
sum += Double.Parse(decAdded)
Next
lblTotal = FormatCurrency(sum)

When I run it, nothing happens. My "For Each" statement I'm not sure if it's doing what I think it's doing. I can't believe I spent 6 hours banging my head against the wall but I finally got it figured out.

This is my revised code:

Dim sum As Decimal
For Each decAdded As Decimal In Me.lstRunningTotal.Items
sum += Decimal.Parse(decAdded)
Next
lbl_Total.Text = sum

Just some suttle changes made the difference

Truncating Numbers To Remain It Two Numbers (Not Decimal)?

Mar 19, 2009

I have an id called "AM01". I separated them by truncating the numbers out and increase it by 1 each time I want to add a new record. Therefore before I add the record, I would have to combine them back. I managed to truncate them and combine them back. However, the results turn out to be "AM2" instead of "AM02". So, is there a way where I could make the numbers as "02" instead of just "2"?

VS 2008 Store A Whole Number Into Decimal Data Type?

Nov 15, 2011

my application has a data table, one of the column set as decimal type to store number, data is read from a text file and store into the data table, then display in a datagridview, I found when that number is only 1 digit, that cell displays nothing (I think no number is being store in that cell), if I type a 1 digit number into that cell is fine. for example,

1.1 [ok]
12 [ok]
0.15 [ok]
4 [not display]
9 [not display]
-23.8 [ok]

so which data type I should use on this column, in order to display all this possible numbers

Random Numbers Displayed Instead Of Stored Integer?

Mar 12, 2012

I've used a numericupdown to select a number and then save it to a .dat file
When i try to display the integer in a listbox, it appears as a random sequence of numbers.

for example, if i input 200 into the numbericupdown, when displayed in the listbox, it is shown as 538976366

Is it an error with the properties with either the numericupdown or the listbox? or do you need to see my code?

Use .next (random Numbers) To Randomly Select Something From A List Of Numbers But It Can't Repeat The Number?

Aug 16, 2009

So how would I use .next (random numbers) to randomly select something from a list of numbers but it can't repeat the number?I could do:

dim num as integer
dim r as new random
num = r.next(1,5)
if num = 1 then
elseif num = 2 then
etc.

That wouldn't work because it would repeat.If I donwload someone's game can I disect it in VS? :0 I tried going to open project, then I went to the folder and clicked open. It brought me inside of the folder so I tried to open the game but there is no form1 there. It says the games name then .exe in the explorer-like thing in the top right?Also, how would I have a value or something in a label and access it from a button.

Example:This is in a label.

Dim number as Integer
number = 0

Then in the button do

Label.number = 0

How would I do something like that? I want to use that a lot as I did in a different language.
