I have a WCF service with a setting I created in the WCF application property editor (settings tab).It has created something like the following property in MySettings class in the Settings.Designer.vb file. Notice the DefaultSettingValueAttribute is set to "This is the OLD value". That's my value for local testing.
<Global.System.Configuration.ApplicationScopedSettingAttribute(), _ Global.System.Diagnostics.DebuggerNonUserCodeAttribute(), _ Global.System.Configuration.DefaultSettingValueAttribute("This is the OLD value")> _
[code]....
The problem is after restarting the WCF service (rebooting the server machine completely), it never reads the new value. It continues to use the old value that was set as the default value in the designer file.I think this must have to do with file permissions, but I don't see anything in the event log that indicates a problem. It's like the WCF service isn't even trying to read the web.config file.Why isn't the service reading the settings value from the web.config file?
I have an xml document similar to the what's below.I'm wondering how I can read the document and all of its child nodes.I want to only read the parent node called MYTYPES and disregard MYGRAPH. The code I am using reads the document but only prints out the parent node (Type1 and Type 2, in this example).How do i get all the child nodes, and their children. For example, i would like to print out:
Type 1: Clarion, 10. Pittsburgh, 20 Type 2: Trention, 10. Harrisburgh, 20 Try[code]....
I am trying to populat a treeview with nodes that are the values of a column in a datatable. I have managed to get the correct number of nodes but the text is not displayed next to the nodes, there is just a 3 shape but the other way round and with square corners shown.
The code is below. I would like to have these parent nodes populated on the form load and then (i think this is what i have read) to be quicker i would like to then load the childnodes once a parent node has been selected, as i don't want to load the whole database on form load or when the form is refreshed.
Do you have a sweet solution in VB (visual studio 2008) to read an OWL file and display nodes on a treeview? It works great for XML but not for OWL when nodes are like as follow: [Code]
I have a DEM file(Digital Elevattion Model File) and I am trying to open the file,where we have Latitude and Longitude values inside the DEM file.And, Now I have opened the file using Filestream and Read the file using BinaryReader.But, I am having a trobule in getting the values of Latitude and Longitude.I am getting Byte values randomly as 1,202,31,271 etc.But, we dont have latitude and longitude values more than 180,and also I am not getting 16 bit UInt values.For example, the values should be like Latitude 20.00416666666667 and Longitude 39.99583333333333.So,read the correct Byte values of the DEM file.The code I have used till now is:
Dim fs As FileStream = New FileStream("C:UsersadminDesktopHeader and DEM fileE020N40.DEM", FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read) Dim rd As New BinaryReader(fs) Dim convertDB As UInt16 For i = 0 To rd.BaseStream.Length
I'm all new to this treeview business. I have a fixed treeview, very simple and basic. Only two levels, parent and child nodes. I just need two things out of this treeview.
1) If parent is checked, check all child nodes.
2) If just one child node is unchecked, uncheck parent node.
That's it! I've been looking for this for 30 mins and I cant find it. Maybe because my vb.net is old, it doesnt seem to be the same as others =/ I'm using vb.net 2003.
Is the following possible in one XPath expression (see sample below) Select all (span tags of class msg) AND all ((img tags that have a non-empty alt attribute) AND (are NOT located inside a span tag of class msg))
I created a WCF Service running as a console application. It is doing event listening for my workflow engine.The second application I am trying to do is a WinForm that can monitor the service and return me back the current states of the engine's workersI am able to connect to the service fine, and I verified that my service has values being set when I step through it... however when my monitor makes a call to the service, I am returning values as though it is not being run? (So default values, not current values
I am trying to create a windows service using vb.net to read sql table every 3 hours and get all the new data created within the past 3 hours. I know how to create a windows service, but the challenge is how to get the newest data created within the past 3 hours from the database.
I want to create a Web Service that will insert values into a access database. Probably be something like this but dont no the code enough to complete: [WebMethod] public void CreateUser(string name, string password) { msConnectionString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=R: C:events.mdb" ****Insert code e.g. INSERT INTO eventstbl(User, pass) Values(name, password)***}
I developed a windows service project using vb.net and windows service is installed with logon account as admin's user name and password. Target of windows service is to read the pst file path location from windows registry for currently logged user by accessing the following registry key
The problem is , windows service can able to read the admin pst file path location if admin is logged in windows. When other user logged in windows, service is not able to read currently logged user's pst file path location from registry because of windows service is configured with admin user name and password. so it always reads admin's pst file location.
I'm running out of walls to bang my head against. Okay new windows form with a textbox, button and TreeView Populate the TreeView.nodes with the default nodes via properties
[Code]...
I want to click button1 and have the name of the childnode? Node3? placed in the textbox. Not via selection, I can do that. But via index or item number. The code I have is as follows
i have a Windows service that is hosting a WCF service through net.tcp and this is working great. I have also created a WCF service application. I am trying to add the net.tcp service reference to the service application. Then I add it to the GAC that goes ok but if I try to RegAsm the WCF service application to allow it to be called from Server.CreateObject I get the error:
Warning: Type library exporter encountered a type that derives from a generic class and is not marked as [ClassInterface(ClassInterfaceType.None)]. Class interfaces cannot be exposed for such types. Consider marking the type with [ClassInterface(ClassInterfaceType.None)] and exposing an explicit interface as the default interface to COM using the ComDefaultInterface attribute.
It does not work. I have tried to call it through a class library but this does not work either as the end point is not set correctly.
I'm a "Moderate" skill programmer, and am upgrading some software I've written in VB.Net (VS2008, .Net 3.5), and need to be able to accomplish the following, which I'm not sure of the best way to go about doing: The software is an information reporting dashboard for a call centre. I have a csv file being created about every 10 seconds, extracted from the telephone software, the file consists of a list of "Skills" (basically telephone line types), the number of calls received on those lines, and the number of callers who hung up (and a few other bits of information I need, but once I figure the basics out, the rest should be easy), basically looking like the following:
[code]...
I need to be able to read this csv, store the data, filter out the "Skills" to be report on (i.e. 1,2, and 5 only), add up the "Offered" and "abandoned" data associated with them and then display this information as one number (i.e. "Skills 1,2,5 - Offered: 4925, Abandoned: 13") (and then the same for the other "Skills"). This data could grow as more phone lines are added or some are taken away.I've got the code to read the data into an array working, but I've got stuck with how to filter and add up the data. I'm not even sure if I can do this with an array.
You need to read the values from an array. What Visual Basic flow construct would you need to use to perform that action? What are the important keywords to include in that construct?
Using VB.Net, I need to read the following XML from a string variable (not a file) and pull the AuthNo, Client ID, Client Name, Supplier ID, and Supplier Name for each Dispatch contained within the XML.
I have looked at tons of examples on the web using XMLReader but I can't figure out how to pull the separate ID's and match them up with their appropriate Names and also matched up with appropriate AuthNo.[code]...
I have a VB2008 application which can control a windows service i.e. start, stop, pause etc. This runs ok on a Windows XP machine but not on a Win 7 machine (message is - Service error cannot open <service name> service on computer '.') ( if I stop the UAC then it runs ok ). It seems to be a rights issue,
