How can I read data from textbox1 to....n using cycles? Something like this:
1. For n=1 to 50
2. text=textbox_n.text
3. Output=output+text
4. Next
5. Msgbox(output)
The question is in line 2. Syntax "textbox_n.text" is not right. How is it possible to read from textboxes using cycle and variable n?

I'm developing an app that should allow the client to add several content sections to a page (in tabs). However I haven't found a way to easily create a form for editing the tabs.Assume for now that a tab just contains a title. I have a form that adds a tab, that's simple. But I also want a form that displays a text input for each tab and allows the titles to be edited and saved. I'm struggling with two main concepts:How to dynamically display the fields after grabbing the tab data from the database (each tab has its own row in the table).How to loop through the submitted data and update each tab in the database.How to select a particular text field from the number (e.g. given "1", how to select the element with ID "TabTitle_ 1".[code]I thought something like TabTitle[0] would be acceptable and allow for easy looping (as it does in PHP) but it's "not a valid identifier" apparently.It's very possible I have the approach completely on its head.
View 1 RepliesI'm currently making a program that will be used to practice German. It reads from textfiles that have English words (noted by # prefix) and German words (noted by $ prefix). An example of this:

#good $gut
#evening $abends
The way it currently works is it loads a text file, finds all # and splits to an array called "English" and finds all $ and splits it to an array called "German" What I want it to now do is feed the "English" entries into textboxes on the left, and "German" onto textboxes on the right so I can then match them out and make a sort of memory game out of it. Unfortunately, I don't know how I would loop an array through multiple textboxes. Conveniently, the textboxes on the left have even numbers, and the ones on the right have odd. Is there a way to possibly find all evenly numbered textboxes and loop "English" array entries into them, and the same for "German"? I've realised this has now gotten a little convoluted, but hopefully somebody understands. I can screenshot the form for better explanation, and copy my existing source code if anybody wants it.

I am trying to retrieve a 'tag'(Is it called that?) from an XML webpage. Once I make a post request from my vb.net app it sends a command to my online webserver and redirects me to a page that has entries that change each time. The page that im redirected to that changes each time looks something like this:

Trying to read in three variables per line from a text file that looks similar to the first code segment. What we've been taught so far to read in is something similar to the second segment. And it works all and good for single words per line.
If this was C++ I'm pretty sure I could getline and use the comma as a terminator, but I'm not sure if a similar function exists for VB.

I have two forms
Form1 contains a 4x4 MSFlexGrid (unfortunately an unmanaged COM object but I can merge cells, which I can't do with a managed Datagrid)
Form2 contains other controls which change the data in the Flexgrid.
I connect the two with a Public 4x4 array. Form2 changes the data in this array. I can update the grid data by reading the array. But how do I bind the Grid to the array so that it auto-updates - which is the whole point of binding isn't it?
I am reading data from a socket (as bytes) and storing this data in a string. Then later i need to access specific bytes within the string and do some math with them. However the bytes that I read back from the string are not what I am expecting.

I am currently working on a program, which needs to take data which is within a listbox and out put to three textboxes.I currently have a 2d array which populates the listbox with data.The array has 4 columns.when double clicking on a chosen entry within the list box i would like 3 textboxes to become populated with the last 3 columns data.i know i must use 'Mouse Double Click' within the listbox to activate this, but having a problem with how i could only have the columns 2,3 and 4.i have read so many different search results on this matter i now have the problem they are all marked as read and still cant get my head around it.
