I've recently taken over a MVVM project started by someone who's now left the company; It's my first time using WPF, but by the looks of it, it was his first time using both WPF and OOP...Anyway, I've got a ListView in the XAML, and I've got a collection class which doesn't currently contain a "SelectedItem" property.what code I need to put in to link the SelectedItem of the ListView to the as-yet-unwritten SelectedItem property of my collection, and then what code I need to put in so that the SelectedItem of the collection links back to the ListView?

will result in selecting two items simultaneously if I click on "James", even though I chose SelectionMode="Single". It's even the same behaviour when I use a helper class with a string-property to display in the ListView. It seems like the ListView is evaluating the Items and selecting those which are Equal() rather than ReferenceEqual(). Is there a way to change this behaviour so that the ListView treats every item individually?

In my program it detects if there is more than one monitor connected. It then creates a form on each monitor screen and you just click on the screen that you want the program to run on.
Here's where I'm having a problem. Everything works great, but when I load my MAIN form how would I call those programmatically created forms? I can't just do frmYou.close.

how to connect a SQL Table to a DataGridView that was previously created programmatically. Basically, at run-time the user names and creates several empty SQL Tables and DataGridViews. After that the user selects from a combobox the name of the SQL Table and DataGridView that they want to import data into, then clicks a button named "Import"...after clicking "Import" the user navigates to an Excel file, chooses a worksheet, clicks a "Continue" button and then the code successfully connects to the Excel import file and SQLBulkCopies the data to the SQL Table...next I need the imported data in the SQL Table update to the DataGridView...this is the part I can't figure out.
The challenge is the datagridview isn't hard coded it was created and named programmatically at runtime. So now the user selects the name of the SQL Table the data resides in and the name of the DataGridView from the combobox "moduletableCB" and I need the code to update the datagridview.

Now everybody knows that creating GUIs that have lots of repeated elements that are evenly spaced by hand is for chumps; all the cool kids use loops and add them at runtime. Given that being one of the cool kids is one of my top priorities I decided to give this a go - as my current project involves creating a grid of check boxes and then chunking them together under one event handler. In my experience - an nice effective way of dealing with grid like structures (2D arrays if you will) is to use nested loops such as:

View 2 RepliesI have an application that I have in VB Express Edition 2008. I have an MS Access database (Access 2003) that I have created a data reference to one of its tables. The table contains 3 fields ID (Counter), Name and Price (text and double). When my form loads I simply want to read each record in the table and create a variable with the same name as the product name and assign it a value the same as the price in the table. So, record 1 in my table has Prod1 in the name field and 2.59 in the price field. I would like these variables to be created when the form loads and be available until the user exits the form.
It seems simple but I cannot find reference to a similar situation anywhere I have looked.

I'm writing a program that inserts controls onto a webform dynamically. Depending on a variable, I add either a textbox, a set of radio buttons, or a set of checkboxes. Later, after a user clicks a submit button I need to use the controls to determine if the user is submitting the correct answer, but when I try to reference the id of a control, I get "txtAnser is not declared. Been searching a trying examples for a couple of days and always fall back to the "null reference" error on this one. I have a set of instructions coming from a SQL database and the number of instructions is a variable. Therefore, I have a TabControl which I add TabPages to at RunTime depending on the number of instructions there are. The TabPages are then created with the names; Step1, Step2, Step3, etc.Each TabPage is made with the same controls and all of the controls are named the same from page to page (e.g. "instr" is the name of a TextBox control that exists on every TabPage).I can successfully create a GetControl method that will return the correct TabPage, but I cannot reference any controls on that TabPage.I can only change properties of the TabPage.If I try to reference a specific control on that TabPage, like the "instr" TextBox control, I get the null reference error.[code]

1. The program is used for trading currency markets and mointers prices all day. When a signal is generated it wil place a trade in a new thread. In the new thread it checks to see if a trade is on already and if so it will not place another trade.The problem is it can be too fast and place another trade before the server has processed the first trade. So trade count returns 0. As the system watches 6 accounts I can not just pause the other thread to make sure it has finished before trying ot place another trade.How to i check to make sure the first thread is finished so when i check for trade count it retuns 1?
2.The new thread is inside a class and has a logging class as well. The problem is writing to the text box on the main thread. As the logging thread is created in the new thread it has no access to the textbox. I have tried using invoke but it still does not write to text box as it does not exist in the new thread.How do i reference a form from a class that was created in a new thread?

I have started the familiarize myself with WPF and have gotten stuck with the ListView I've read a lot of documentation about binding and I can't seem to find how to populate a ListView programmatically. It seems like a lot of work to create the binding and classes, etc, just to fill a ListView.
1. If you want to populate a ListView with data that a user has inputted, is the correct way in WPF to populate the ListView with binded data?
2. How do you add items and subitems to a ListView in code? (There doesn't seem to be a subitems in WPF.)
I have an MDI application, say name of MDI is MDIParent. From form1 I am adding new tab pages to form2. In the first tab of form2 I have generated a ListView by calling a ListViewCreate() function in Load event of form2. I am not able to generate ListView for the new tabs. I tried calling the ListViewCreate() while adding newtab. But, it is not creating listview nor throwing any error.
