Retrieve Data From Gridview In One Form In Another Form?

I have a form consisting of datagridview with as checkbox column. Now, when the user selects a row using checkbox, I want a new form to pop-up and the selected rows be displayed on that form..The rows in the table consist of quantity and cost of materials, so i also want that the total quantity be displayed in a textbox on the other form..Could anybody please suggest as to what should i use on the other form, as in, textbox, datagridview, table etc.

im trying to make a basic Database
Its suppose to save the stuff written in the texbox for example
I have to input 255 students Name, address, age and Birthdays and save them all and then try to find all of the info stored by entering the Name.
Also i have to generate a student Id not just giving a Id to them so for example if the first student i enter his ID # should be 1 and so on as i enter the name

I have a form with gridview data with database data. With query I run INSERT INTO from one table into another, with button. I would like when I run procedure, also reset/update/refresh gridview with new import data??!!
For info, I have try with some methods, such as me. gridview.refresh() or update(), but nothing. Maybe I have also using this methods wrong.

I have successfully added textboxes to a form at runtime. I have also succesfully added an event handler to these same textboxes. What I'm having trouble understanding is how to refer to these textboxes programmatically after they have been added. Specifically, how do I;
1) Retrieve user data entered in those textboxes without an event handler
2) Find a specific one of those textboxex later (is looping thru all controls of type "textbox" the only way)?
purpose of find is so that I can set the value of the corresponding textbox programatically, based on some criteria Here is the code (all within in a for loop, where intvararycount is incrementing to a set limit) I have used to add the Textboxes to a Panel on a Form;

I have a .aspx search screen that displays the results of the search in an asp:GridView component. There can be up to approx 1000 records returned by the search. I want to implememt paging on the grid so that only 15 records are displayed at any one time and the user can page through the results.
I am retrieving the records by passing search parameters to a WCF service which returns a List of particular entity objects. I create a Datatable and insert one DataRow per entity object from the List. I then bind the grid view to the Datatable.
This is how my grid is defined in the .aspx page:
<asp:GridView ID="gridCat" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" DataKeyNames="CatalogueID"
HeaderStyle-CssClass="fieldHeading" RowStyle-CssClass="fieldContent"

Is there a better way to do this (or am I doing it wrong)? If not, which of the 3 options do you think is the best? I'm leaning towards option 2 as I don't think option 1 is performant and I don't want to be sending loads of unnecessary data back to the browser as per option 3.

I placed a datagrid in my form which l retrive data from my sql. i am using oledb connection. if i run the form i can retrive the data but i am not getting the data in the grid at first ,there is a "+" sign, i have to clik that then it shows the table name and after clicking the table name i can view the data displays in the grid..

I'm teaching myself VB.Net.
Here is a problem I have recently come across. Say I have a main Form1 in my application. Form1 calls a second LoginForm which (like the name suggests) is a login window with username/password type fields. Expected behaviour is that LoginForm will capture login details and pass them back to Form1.
In my mind, I was thinking along the lines of a function call like 'doLogin' that would 'show' the LoginForm, capture the data entered, dispose of the form and return the login details (probably in some kind of bean). Somehow I don't see this as being possible
What I have currently is less elegant. LoginForm is shown by Form1 modally (i.e. showDialog); a 'me' reference is passed to the second window. After user input has been received on LoginForm, I set a value on Form1, then dispose.

I have a main form with datagridview containing a list of contacts:

After saving, I get the correct message ("Saved"), and the DataGridView in the first form gets updated in real time.
But... when I take look at the data (or close and reopen the forms) the data in the database (SQL server) have not changed! What happens!

How do i load the Main form of a WPF so that a seperate thread goes and gets data from the database while the form is in an apartmentstate? (drag-able / movable) I Know this is possible with opening a new window from your main form like this :

I've tried putting MyBase.ShowDialog() and .Show() and .9000+ other things The only benefit I've got out of using a seperate thread to load from the databse is i can see the screen right away (as oppose to it being a transparent box until it loads) but i cannot move it around or minimize it?is there any way to make it Movable while it loads?

I have a Windows form I would like to save the Ovals I created while running the form for use and review later I have been trying the SaveFileDialog but have not figured how to get my data out to the file that is created. I have read about using datatable but there again I'm working with that but need to find how to load all my Oval parameters into the table so I can recreate the current look of the form.

I still cant think a way to get my database from the datagrid in form2 and display it on form3..my little program is like a schedule that you'll edit your students class hour,subject and teacher.. then after that when you view your schedule.. you'll see only what subject you'll be at in that student data schedule...i've tried dbgrid.columns(n).text = label1.caption, but i found out that it'll copy the data but only those on the 1st row >.<. ill upload my program here for you guys to have a hint what program exactly im making on.

I was using 2 forms, the first one has general data capture and the second one is a calendar form. On Form1 I have mulitple windows controls. A Textb ox and beside a Calendar button. When I click on a Calendar Command button, it should open calendar form and once the user selects the date, the date should be placed in the text box on the form1. Identical to this on Form1 I need multiple textboxes that needs date to be captured.I cannot use a global variable for this as I need to validate mulitple text boxes. To explain this, I have a Transaction Date and Date Received. I need to validate whether Transaction date is prior Date Received or not? I dont want to use several global variables b'coz I might need multiple validations as above. Please help me on this.

I have one form with a datagrid that displays a list of 'contacts' with just the minimal basic info in the datagrid.I have another form that displays ALL the 'contacts' info.I want to double-click on any cell in the datagrid and have the other form load and show ONLY the data for that selected contact on the datagrid form.I have no idea where to start but I have at least already figured out how to show only a select set of contacts by setting a filter on the contactstableadapter to "statusid = 4" (An agent).

Window based application:I am populating gridview in a child form on load event as well as formatting gridview cell colors.Data is picked-up from parent form grid(Grid to datatable) by setting up global public datatable variable in child form.
Gridview formatting works fine for the first run.All the future runs the gridview formatting function in the child form is executed but the color changes are not reflected on the grid.

I have a typical data entry form to show one Customer. All textboxes, controls, etc. are bound to a BindingSource.
Clicking a button, I pop up another form with a DataGrid to show all Customers in a table, this way:

How can I populate the fields in Form1 selecting a row of the grid in frmSearch?
