I have 3 textboxes and need to search differently for each of the textboxes. For example textbox1.text is searched in column ans1, textbox2.text is searched in column ans2 and textbox3.text search in column ans3 in table Answer. is there any sql query that can do the search in one button click event.
View 3 RepliesI need to do a query in which I can find all records in a table in which a user enters a search word. The word to be searched for will be a word in a column. If there's a table named solutions and in the table there is a field named description; i need to be able to pull up all records where for example the search word is 'printer' is in the description column. I don't have any code or database structure to show. I first need to know if this can be done. Can someone supply a code snippet example or tell me what SQL keywords will do this, or some pointer?

I have a table adaptor that pulls from the sql database, when I edit the table adaptor query it makes this specific table adaptor not a part of the dataset. I have added a column to my database which will contain an integer, when I try to add this column to the query this error occurs, i am using the configure area of the table adaptor.

View 3 RepliesI'm a bit of a noob at this and finding that all my research that's led me to wanting to do things right for data integrity are making it a bit more complicated on the front end.
Presently I have a Form in which I have two DataGridViews that I'm populating, each with it's respective stored procedure.
What the form is for is for linking rows from the one DataGridView (I'll call it DGV1) to a different one in the other DataGridView (DGV2).
Now to facilitate the ease of doing this for the user I want to both have the dgvs fully populated so that if the user wants they can just slide on through and manually select the rows in each they want and then there'll be a button to select which I'm planning to then use another stored procedure to then insert this connection between these two items into the database.
Another thing to facilitate this is a search bar. I want them to be able to type in something and have the datagridviews both navigate to where their selection is as well as selecting it so that it's then ready to be bound to the selection in the other.
What I'm wanting to know, and having a hard time figuring out, is how do you get such a search function to work on DataGridViews that I have bound to these read only stored procedures? How do I search and select within the DataGridView? And then how would I go about using the selection from two different datagridviews and putting those as parameters in the stored procedure that I wanted to use to then record the relationship in the database?

I have two text files, the first text file has two columns separated by a space (" ") and the second text file only has one column.
The column 1 in text file 1 and text file 2 match albeit in different order, what I'm trying to achieve is for every field in column 1 text file 2 I want to search for column 1 in text file 1 and display the matching column 2 field in column 2 text file 2.

My problem is with the tickets table, I have listed the user that created the ticket, the tech who will solve the ticket and a user that over sees the ticket. All three users reference the users table. So how do I can I query the tickets table and get all three users that reference the same table storing the users?

The value for the first parameter @Parm_1d1 value to the crystal report version 11 is correct. However, when trying to access the second @Parm_1d2 parameter ,the values past to the crystal report is not correct.
I am trying to automate an access table make query through vb.net.It works fine the first time, but the second time it fails because the table already exists.Of course i can delete the table through code by it's name, but i want to let my .net-application find out wich table must be deleted. The problem I'm having is it's returning the both InstName and the StuName multiple times in the listbox. I'm guessing it's because I'm doing the items.add twice? I was trying to use "[oledbcommand variable name].parameters.addwithvalue" but I couldn't figure out how to do it with a "like" function.

For example there is a "capacity" column and a "country" column. I am doing a filtered list of projects on one page and I'd like to include all projects where any one of the associated projectVersions has a capacity of 750ml and a country of "France" for example.It may be that a particular parameter is not set and so I pass a zero to indicate not to filter on that.I guess this needs some kind of subquery as when I try and do something like this: [code] it doesn't work as the "xxx" bit, being one-to-many, expects me to specify an item to get at the entities within and yet I want to query where ANY of the associated versions match one of the criteria.
