May 6, 2011I developed an application wich places some files in the programsfolder. If i manualy delete one of these files wich are not realy important for the application then when i restart the application i see that somthing like an installer places the original file back again in the folder. Someone can explain why and how i can stop this from happening? I would rather create the file during installation but i still cant find out how.

3 textboxes
2 buttons (which i would like to get their text from)and then 1 button to save details and exit.I got the coding place but i dont want a a dialogue box to come up i just want to save the stuf to a set folder location, will need to read the textfile to the same area, incase the user wants to change the data. Mar 19, 2012I'm curious to know if you can close files out in .net, I'm currently getting this error if the .fil temp file gets populated. I call the 'Kill' command to close the file after the user is done using the program but errors out if the file is open/in use, I've researched and was unable to find a definite answer on if .net can close files out through the program, is this possible?

Mar 11, 2010I am attempting to write a playlist for my media player which is already built. I have found a way to build a playlist for it but it would be helpful if I could save the contents of TextBox1 to a text file without using the save as. I am trying to get over a user inputting a file name for the finished text file so is it possible to write the file c: est.txt without using the save as dialog? I have found that I can use a vbs program file which creates a playlist in a folder. I save the vbs file text to the textbox then save it as a vbs file in the playlist directory, then execute the finished file to make the playlist.

Mar 19, 2009My question is simple (the answer may not be...), What I am looking for is a way to save a file as an encrypted file (so know one can open it except in visual basic or a way to save it with a unique ending that only visual basic will recognize. I will also need to know of a way to open or load the file to.
This is going to be used in a game I am working on (and yes...I know visual basic isn't really meant for games, but it is coming together pretty well). I was originally going to have it save as a text file, but then everyone could open, read it and even change there stats. That is what this file will contain, the stats for their character, and when they load it, it will place the values into the correct spot.
I am a partial beginner or intermediate coder, I can understand code, I just don't know all there is, like saving and loading, and this is probably a little harder.

Oct 7, 2009Its a League Organizer, basicly ive started it off with 16 teams and end up with 1(winner) 16 box's on the far left, then 8, then 4, then 2, then 1. the 16 box's have "Team 1" "Team 2" etc... ive put a new/clear/open/save button in that order.
BUT this is my problem..when i save(Save Button) the text file saves all the text wrong it ends up like this...Team 1Team 2Team 3Team 4 Etc...
