I have two tables that can't be changed. One contains Stock codes / country codes, the other has country code / description for each code. I have a combobox with all the country descriptions that can be added to the stock code table. my problems is i can't figure out how to get the selected Country description to get the right country code and add that too the Stock code table.

I want to insert data to a table in SQL DB.I have a combo box with the values "5" and "6". When you click one or the other in the combo box i want these values to be inserted in a database( MS SQL Server 2008).I also have some textboxes which are bind correnctly and have no problem. The problem is with the bindings(i guess) of the combo box. I get sql exception.

This is where I call the code, in the procedure code of the application
cmdIns.Parameters.AddWithValue("@DELAY_CAUSE_1", glbDelayCause1)
and this is the parameter that I am calling.For some reason this method does not work. I get an error saying that it expects a parameter @DELAY_CAUSE_1 which is not supplied. I check my procedure code and everything is matching up. Am I missing something here? Sorry that I haven't provided more into but the short question is how do I add the value of a combobox that has been selected? I just want to enter the number of the value selected into the table. But the combobox list will display the string.

View 3 RepliesI'm a bit of a noob at this and finding that all my research that's led me to wanting to do things right for data integrity are making it a bit more complicated on the front end.
Presently I have a Form in which I have two DataGridViews that I'm populating, each with it's respective stored procedure.
What the form is for is for linking rows from the one DataGridView (I'll call it DGV1) to a different one in the other DataGridView (DGV2).
Now to facilitate the ease of doing this for the user I want to both have the dgvs fully populated so that if the user wants they can just slide on through and manually select the rows in each they want and then there'll be a button to select which I'm planning to then use another stored procedure to then insert this connection between these two items into the database.
Another thing to facilitate this is a search bar. I want them to be able to type in something and have the datagridviews both navigate to where their selection is as well as selecting it so that it's then ready to be bound to the selection in the other.
What I'm wanting to know, and having a hard time figuring out, is how do you get such a search function to work on DataGridViews that I have bound to these read only stored procedures? How do I search and select within the DataGridView? And then how would I go about using the selection from two different datagridviews and putting those as parameters in the stored procedure that I wanted to use to then record the relationship in the database?
Do we have a combo box where in every keystroke it will autosearch for the items in the combo box?

I have a csv file that I need to import into a sql table, this portion is working correctly. The code grabs the data, displays it in a datagridview and then imports it into the sql table. What I need to do is add an additional field that will automatically number itself by the amount of rows inserted at that perticaular moment. Let me explain a little clearer. My problem is, the data that I pull from the database, when try to multiply it, it didn't multiply.
The database has Fruit and FruitPrice column. When select fruit form the combo box, it will search the price. But I can't seem to multiply it. The price is display at PriceTextBox but when multiply it, it shows 0 in the TotalTextBox. It is a simple problem but I've tried everything I know but it still didn't multiply.

How to insert, search and delete a picture in vb.net and Microsoft access 2007? A picture that will be store in access is inserted in a form or a picture box. I have the following query that executes when my form loads. It's the rowsource for my combo box. The query is fine and populates the combo perfect, however, when i click into the combo box I cannot click out of it or even close the form. I have tried taking out the line of code that fills the form via table adapter on load and it works fine (opening the form unbound by the main table). Has anyone run into this before? I have another combo box on the form setup the exact same way and this is not happening. I've experimented with different datatypes etc....
