I am building a tool for my team at work to search a XML file for a particular item and return back the nodes associated with it. I have searched the web to no abounds and was wondering if someone would mind letting me know what I am missing.

I know that I can use treeview.nodes.find() but that will find the exact text so how would I search a treeview to find like items?
I have come close but this only searches the parents, never the children. Would I have to do a double search, start at parent and then get all nodes in parent?[code]...

How to search and replace words in listbox items.
just can't seem to work it out
SELECT ContactID, FirstName, LastName, Male, Female, Email, Address
FROM Contact
WHERE (FirstName LIKE @FirstName + '%')
The above query works and returns values on first names that begin with whatever item I type in a text box.
How can I modify that code to search for items containing specified characters instead of just searching for items that begin with the specified characters. I would still need to use a wildcard because it is a search field. see below for an example
For example can I query the FirstName column to display people who's name contain the letters "an" in that order a before n but anywhere within the word e.g.
- Anna
- Jane
- Samantha
I am trying to make a simple program that will have three texbox controls and it will have like a paragraph in textbox2 and I want to have key words that I type in TextBox1 and it will match the words from textbox1 and will find a line with the matching words. It will then show that sentence from TextBox2 in TextBox3.

Well I have a list of things I want to search based on multiple points of data...for example Resolution, 3D capable, touchscreen capable....etc....What is the best way for display someone can think of & filtering results by capability, I have none of it typed out, etc...like list of objects & capabilities, etc... alreat...so it can be made any way that is thought to be good(with speed as well) for many different listings...say 1,000 of them & it filters pretty much instantly....reading capabilities & such & the list itself is easy but how can I make a filter(unchecking something brings back things, checking something takes away only since well your adding capabilities to filter selection....I have pictures that can go with items too as well as a name & more information could be given directly with the method or clicking on the picture/item.

I am trying to search a database with a textbox control and I want the search results to display in a datagrid.The table I want to search is called Movies. I have a BindingSource attached to the form a long with a dataset (dsMovies) containing the Movies table and a table adapter (MoviesTableAdapter). I am working on a new application that retrieves webpage source info and displays data based on that data. Currently i have it read it from a textbox. What i want the application to do is read this textbox or textfile and seach for <name= and then read the rest of the line that its on. The source of the specific page i'm talking about will sorta look like:
