I want to display the data from the table, column name "Remarks" in report footer but when I try to call the data it doesn't show the remarks. I'm using VB 6 and mdb files as my back end. Is there any command or fundamental that I've missed?

I have a datasource linked to a table in a database.When I wnated to display this data on a form, I just dragged the datasource onto the form and it did everything for me, including the code to fill it;
Me.ProjectFileTableAdapter.Fill(Me.ProjectFileDataSet.ProjectFile)
My problem, is that this program will have multiple users, and I don't other users to be able to see each others data. So the problem with the above statement is that it fills the table with ALL the data in the datasource. View 1 RepliesI use excel through vb.net/asp.net to generate reports from a web page and then send the file down to the user. We've had some issues with Excel being super slow/inefficient/not closing (even when we keep track of the process id and try to kill it in code...). So I'm looking for some flexible alternatives. We need a replacement that can:
Allow for inidivdual cell formatting including borders (different settings on each side), background colors, font styles/coloring, etc...Allow for cell merging Allow for formatting (bolding in this case) of a portion of the text inside of a cell while leaving the rest of the text unchanged Image insertion/repositioning inside a cell (not crucial)Multiple Worksheets per Workbook.
These are all the features I can think of off hand, any help or suggestiong at alternative libraries to look at would be appreciated. We are running Excel 2007 on the server but we are rolling out Office 2010 to clients so I think that might open the doors for some more supported file formats.

I have two data tables. the second related to the first. Using a datagridview for the first table I am able to enter and save data ok. if I run the code twice in a row the data is still there. When I edit the data in the related table in it's own datagirdview the data is there and displays correctly, but on running the code a second time the related data is lost. In both cellendedit events I am using

I created a button instead of the print button in crystal report because i need to record the report printed report serial number, date and time to the database. when i click on the button, dialog box appear. if i click on the ok button , system record the printed report details to the database and report printed successfully. but when i click on the cancel button , system again recording the printed report record.

I'm not so good in databases and SQL. At the moment, I have a interface of a simple payroll system as well as a database design. I got 4 tables consist of Employee, Payroll, Deduction and Salary as you can see in the picture link below. Btw, I'm using VB 2008 express edition and mysql 2008.

Basically I have a program that receives real time data from microcontroller and displays it in a text box. What I would now like to do is to store the values received into a table that can be viewed when the receive program finishes. However I still want the values displayed as they are received in addition to being stored in a table of some sort.

I haven't done any VB coding since school (15 years ago) but currently have a need to run what "sounds" a fairly simple app at work. I'm hoping some of you might be able to give me some pointers as to whether or not my idea is possible, and if it is, how best to approach it.
I work for a company where we send a number of standard emails to potential clients asking them to contribute to our magazine . if no response we then send a number of follow up emails. each and every time I send a new email to a new prospect I'm editing one of our template emails, putting their name and email address into outlook and manually sending emails. Then for every reminder I'm going back into outlook, clicking reply all and then c&p'ing our second or third reminder emails in each and every time. needless to say at least 2-3 hours of my day are spent editing and resending the same emails on outlook.

I'm trying to select a 'Username' value from a table called 'tblUsers' where the 'UserID' is 1 and assign it to the 'Text' property of a field. I've read numerous posts and threads about random number generation, but I havent' run across this.If I generate a bunch of random numbers, the results are radically different if I create a new Random generator for each number than if I use on Random generator for all the numbers. The results are much more consistent and evenly distributed if I use the same Random generator.I would have thought the opposite,because creating a new Random generator each time should reduce the number of random repetitions, if a different time slice is used to create the random number.[code]......

Hence, I can compare the figure of the current month with the past few month.Right now, I do not have any problems building SQL_String for calculating the Total Qty Sold for the Current month and display it via DataGridView. But I am not sure how to additional column that calculate the Total for the past few month
I am trying to convert a VB6 Data Report (.dsr file) to a Crystal Report through the migration process within Visual Studio. I have read articles that reference adding a Data Report to a Project from Visual Studio 2005/2008 and that it will convert the Data Report to a Crystal Report, but I have not been successful in doing so. Does the VB6 Data Environment need to be converted too? Has anyone been able to do this successfully and if so, how?
