What I need to do is build a server application that accepts tcp client requests from different clients running on same port say:1003. I experimented by using asynchronous mode call backs etc. but it disconnects once connection is established and does not respond for further requests from the same client.

Sep 22, 2011I am facing a problem in VB .net Client/Server application where I am successfully able to talk between them using TCPListener and TCPClient class usage. However, when I try to connect another Client to the same server on the same welcome port, it errors out throwing an exception or behaves very unexpectedly.Isn't it true that the Server connection is on a WELCOME PORT for all the clients, and that each client connected gets a new port to carry on its communication with the server AUTOMATICALLY (according to the Tomcat webserver working)

I used a try catch statement to catch the error and it says that tcplistener doesn't allow multi connections... think creating a new thread for each connection sounds like the most reasonible answer but I can't grasp the concept of it...

1. You must re-register the product for every user on that client
2. Each client must have a unique registration key
3. You are allowed only 30 days of useage without registration
What is happening is I asked my students to register the application themselves. But we keep getting this registration request every time a student switches seats in the room. Now we are getting an error message that says we have had too many registrations from this IP address.Is there a registration key that will work on more than one computer? Is there any way around the registration issue?

All that stuff about TCP/IP just is not working! Using TCP/IP I cannot connect to anyone out of my network! Mar 18, 2009I have a large class that I built to act as a TCP server for one of my silverlight applications. When a user connects it stores the tcp client into a table for later communication. The problem is that when I send data, with more than one client connected, it loops through both open TCP Clients but some how sends the data twice to the same client.... the other tcp client never receives his data. This isn't a logic issue as I can step through the code and see that it is clearly taking each individual TCP client out of the table and sending it the data. They all use the same port... could that be the issue? And if so how do I make it so that it can connect on one port then transfer to another? I have tried using different computers for connecting but still the most recently connected client receives all of the packets of data.

2 Clients Connected Via Server / Network Code Causes Slowdown Of Picturebox Movement
Aug 10, 2011I have 2 clients connected via a server program.When 1 client hits an arrow key, a picturebox moves on client1 and on client2.Before adding this network functionality, the picturebox on client1 moved fast with each click.Now, there is a delay of like 2-3 seconds.I know the code isn't optimal, but i'm not a networking wizard.What i'm doing is when pressing a key on client 1, it passes a text to a textbox in client 2 which then has the picturebox move in client 2 depending on the text.The slowdown occurs on client 1, which is odd because the picturebox isn't directly connected to the network code.[code]

Jun 8, 2012[Code] The above code does not work. I need for this to check to see if there is a database entry with the office name and today's date. Then if not it needs to tell the user that it is going to create a new entry for todays date. Then the code is trying to enter a new row in the database but it is like i can't use command. commandtext = in two spots. Both SQL commands work if separated but not together in this code. Obviously the abcdefghij are just test entries but it works if it is separated from the other sql command above. Also of course i have changed the datasource above to hide mine.

Apr 5, 2010connect my vb.net application to a remote sql server database, so every one who installs the application would be able to connect to the same remote database. the application would obviously require the internet to run.i also want the option to add more databases in the future, preferably one for each business who would use my software.i am wondering the best way to set up this server that could hold multiple databases. i would think i have two options:
1) set up the server myself on a dedicated computer
2) pay for some type of service that host sql server dataases
so how would i go about executing these options? i dont know the first thing. which option is better?i do however know how to connect to a remote database so thats not what i am asking.

Server / Service That Communicates With Multiple PCs
Feb 24, 2012I am hoping to get some advice on a project that I am wanting to work on. I have never done a web service/windows service or anything along the lines of what I am thinking so I would like some advice from some more experienced developers.I will be using VS2008 and VB.NET. My company currently mostly works in .NET 2.0 for our commercial application, but since this will be used mostly in house I would be able to use .NET 3.5 if suggested (am just not overly familiar with the additional features in .NET 3.5).What I would like is to have a server/service that communicates with multiple PCs. I want to create an application/web page (not familiar with web development so would probably start out as a winform app and possibly move to a web app to consume the service) that would query the web service/remoting service/whatever to retrieve information from each of the PCs (track the version of the application that is running, retrieve log files, push an update program to the PC (to be run manually)).
Not being too familiar with this type of scenario I was thinking something to the effect of:Each PC run a Windows Service that monitored the local PC. When something changes (software update installed?), tell the web service that the new version is installed.A service (web service? remoting server? other?) running on a PC that would be the interface to the windows service (not sure how the web service would talk to the Windows service without the Windows service initiating, though, unless it is also running a server) on the individual PCs. The service could request an update from the PCs (get the software version, request a file). The service would also be able to push an update program to the PCs to be run manually.

Feb 21, 2012I am trying to do multiple joins within a single query in SQL Server CE. I know that SQL Server CE doesn't support multiple SELECTs but I can't find any information on multiple INNER JOINs. I keep getting token errors on ProjectItemMaster (after the FROM) and the first INNER JOIN. Warning this is a big ugly query used to generate reports.

If I can't uses multiple INNER JOINs I can I break the query down into a number of different queries but I would prefer not to. So it is easier to maintain a SQL Server CE and an SQL Server version of the program.
