I am printing an HTML file by using the WebBrowser Control, but I want to force it to print landscape. I thought the following might do the trick but it didn't [code]Is there any way of doing this that doesn't resort to SetPrinter APIs?
View 1 RepliesI have a WebBrowser control in a VB.NET WinForms app. I am able to set the default printer from code and print without prompting the user. However, there is also a print button that shows the PrintDialog. If this action is done first the page will print.Then if I try to programmatically print later (again setting the default printer to some other printer) the it will print to the last printer selected in the PrintDialog box even though I am resetting the default and see the default printer being changed in Windows.It works fine unless ShowPrintDialog has a printer chosen first. Once that occurs it seems to always use that printer no matter what I do.

i am using Visual Basic.net 2008 and I need a way to print the web brower to the default printer. Now I have worked with printing set pixel ranges but big problems happen when a printer dialog box appears over the space of the webbrowser and gets printed! Could someone give me the general approach, sudo code?

If you click folder it opens new folder contents in WB window but if you click html document it opens in EXTERNAL viewer.

I am writing a few web based apps which will require a webbrowser extension. I have already used the IE webbrowser control that uses the trident web rendering engine. I believe this is MSHTML.DLL? Anyway, some of the users of my programs have complained of a few things. Particularily,
1. It seems to be a slow browser, at least compared to other rendering engines out there (webkit and gecko are 2 known ones).
2. On the developer side, it seems to be low in features. The features are sufficient in most cases, but there are some "special" things that I need.
3. It has VERY low HTML (and especially HTML5) compliance.
My question is, how much work would it take to use a different engine (such as webkit .net, which I HAVE heard of) and be able to distribute it easily. Or, if you guys feel ambitious, we could try writing a brand new engine ourselves. I know how big of a job it is, and frankly, I have no clue where to begin. I would just like your thoughts and opinions on the matter.
i have created an app to load an access database into a datagridview, which contains web urls. When button is clicked it webbrowser1 navigates to each url and each webpages document.inertext is put into textbox. This all work fine but after a while the webbrowser navigation becomes increasingly slower.

I've spent all day and most of yesterday trying to find how to: 1. Detect if my printer is busy, because my code tells the printer to print more pages than it can cope with, so I need to delay the command for 'Print the next page' until the printer has finished printing the previous one.
2. Shift the output to my printer so that it gets printed in it's entirety on the paper, in stead of seemingly being anchored to some nebulous point on the A4 page. It starts printing at X = 29mm from the left edge, and Y is 28mm from the top, and stops at X = 22mm from the right edge and Y stops at 22mm from the bottom edge, leaving (aprox) 50mm of X and 50mm of Y unprinted.
3. Get useful information on Bounds, which I'm fairly certain is what I need to control where my printing should start and finish.I've hunted through this forum, MSDN, 'Help' (a misnomer if ever there was one) the VB Library and searched through one or two other forums, which either baffle me with reams of pretty much irrelevant code or suggest code to try which either just don't work or which don't declare all the variables and usually don't suggest what type of variable I need, it's all very frustrating.

I would like to know if I can alter the printer's print orientation from Landscape to Portrait and vice versa directly at the time of printing.
I can find, and have found: The installed printer's name, it's Landscape angle and I'm sure I could extend that to a whole host of other information.[code]...
I'm not sure if this is the best forum for this question but it seemed like the most applicable. I am using VBA to create a barcode label application that sends a series of ZPL (Zebra programming language) commands to a USB printer.I need this program to be stand alone in the sense that the Excel 2007 workbook that I am embedding the macro in and the printer driver are the only software that will be required to sucessfully run this program on various computers that have Excel 2007 installed. Additionally I need this program to work directly with the USB port and not a serial/ usb converter. Can someone help me, or direct me to help, to perform this kind of operation? I used to be able to read and write to serial/ parallel ports and haven't worked with USB from a programming perspective.

View 3 RepliesI have a regular application form with a WebBrowser control.I have strung together a .htm file (from a regular text file) which I then assign to the WebBrowser control. In the html file, I have filenames mentioned.I am trying to string together the html in such a way as to give a clickable link or button that will parse into html and open the corresponding file in another WebBrowser control in VB.I have tried using VBScript and JavaScript to put a button in the html.As long as the function or sub I call is also in the same html document, it works, but I really need to transfer the control back into visual basic where I can do the heavy lifting I need to.can I just not do this as a regular VB application? Any way to do it without adding the complication of requiring ActiveX?

I have printer vendor provided SDK implementing that i can get printer DEVMODE or HDC with correct printer settings.
My questions is:
I am already using printDocument to print the image (System.Drawing.Bitmap). How can send use this HDC or DEVMOD with printDocument.

I have a label printer (Argox 1000-x) and i want to print some datas on it. And this printer is connected to my computer via the COM1 port. I can open/write COM1. And when i send some data to printer through COM1, Label Printer's Ready Signal Led will be ON/OFF. But it does not print anything or any label..

View 2 RepliesI am writing a VB.Net WPF application that needs to display HTML content and websites. I am doing this using the webBrowser control. The application takes a significant performance hit running under x86 and I would really like to keep it set to Any-CPU. However the webBrowser controls need to be 32bit so they can run flash. So is there any way of achieving this? Running the 32-bit webBrowser in a 64bit process, or some alternative control that will manage this and allow me to load HTML from a string and a URL?

I'm having an issue loading one of our work websites in a WebBrowser control. In IE, it works fine, but in the wb control, it does not seem to process correctly.There is a frame, "mainframe" which when you click "result", goes back to the "to do list". However, i get a blank page in the frame, and then when i hit refresh, it comes up with a scripted error "Page Already Sent" which i'm not sure what it is triggered by.The pages are JSP pages, and i don't know if that might have some effect, but i'm more confused as to why they would work perfectly in IE, and then not work in WebBrowser control.
View 5 RepliesI'm running a webbrowser control with a custom user agent.when I try to load google with it, there are a number of 'script errors' in the website, which I've hidden by setting 'Scripterrorssupressed' to true. Now however there is still an 'object error' which pops up when i try to load google.Every other website that I've tried loads fine, and when I click 'ok' google runs fine. I'm quite sure its something to do with google 'location services' trying to locate my browser, because it thinks its a cellphone (due to the custom user agent).

I've added the component so it appears in my toolbox, but when i try to draw it on a form it isn't visible. It size can't be changed from 0,0 or anything! I can't see a 'URL' section in its properties either, why is that?
