How can I set a Column of a Data Type (time) to start from 8:00 A.M?. Since the default data type starts from midnight. Is there a way to create a constraint to set the time to start from 8:00 AM and check whether the inserted time is 8:00 A.M or not ?
im using the timer control, how do i set the start time and finish time? for eg, show a label text for 4 secs then hide. Googled for examples but still no joy.
I am using VB 2008 and want to record a start date and time and then the stop date and time in a rich text box, i can get the start time into the box but so far can only stop the time instead of 2 seperate times, what i have is a drop down box with a list of computers 1-10 i was trying to get it so you picked a certain computer and that went into the text box then you started the timer and that was recorded, finally you stopped the timer and that was recorded but as i am a total newbie it does not work
I have an ASP.NET application with a SQL Server back end. I am storing all my dates in UTC format and doing the appropriate conversions to the local time zone of the browser viewing it. One of the pages asks for a start date and end date (no times).
I am taking the start date and setting the time to 00:00:00 hours (midnight) and I'm taking the End time and adding a time of 23:59:59, so that the date range covers the whole day. Now what I'm trying to do is do a SQL query to do a search for records in this date range. The problem is, the data in SQL is in UTC time and the user is typing their dates and times in their local date and times. My quickest solution was to convert the date and time to UTC, then search the records. However, by doing this, I am to believe ASP.NET converts the given time and date to UTC based on the server time zone. How can I convert a date and time to UTC time based on the time zone of the user?
I would like to set my application to show system under maintenance if it hit the start time until the end time which i set in the xml (24 hrs). How do i code it. [code]
I have written my first service that checks the status of servers. I have used the statement System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(86400000), so that the service will run, then sleep for 24hrs before running again.
My problem is i want the service to run at 7am every morning, when i install and start the service it will run from the time i start it. I dont have access to required computer at 7am.
Is there a way of setting the service to run at 7am on the first run? Was thinking a Loop, or timer but dont want to be eating resources up while it is not necessary.
I want to start the time in one user only because when i add a user in my listview and click the start button both of them start their time. how can only start one user only? and when i select the other user and start their time the first one that i start is continues deducting a time.
This is my code:
Public Class Form1
Private Sub Form1_Load(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load With Timer1 .Interval = 1000 '// set interval to 1,000, which is 1 second.
I am part of a group writing a program for scheduling purposes. In the program I must check to see if times are overlapping.Say an Instructor is in class 1/1/2011 3:00:00pm to 1/1/2011 4:00:00pm receive the Instructor and 1/1/2011 3:10:00pm to 1/1/2011 4:50:00pmThis should return True the instructor is overlapped.Of course the other side would be if the time started/ended before or after the original class.I've tried many different combination's of if statements similar to:
If (begTime <= s.BegTime AndAlso endTime <= s.BegTime) Or (begTime >= s.EndTime AndAlso endTime >= s.EndTime) Then End If
how to start a VB.NET program at a specific time of the day, but I simply cannot find it. I've found an example that shuts down the computer at a specific time of the day, but having no experience with the Timer function, I wouldn't know where to start when hacking the code.As an example, I'd like the program to run at say 2:00PM and display a message. The displaying the message won't be hard (MessageBox.Show("Stuff")), it's just the starting .
I just made an auto talker but i wanted to know if its possible to make a random time before it start talking. Exemple: Instead of just talking every 2 seconds, make it random between 2 - 8 seconds so he can talk at 2 seconds then the second 7 seconds then 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 etc......
Knowing the hWnd and the Title of all the desktop windows, I whould like to order them by start time order (them order on the task bar)In your opinion is there an API that gives those data? I can't use the Process.StartTime property because many of these windows have the Process.MainWindowTitle = "" and Process.MainWindowHandle = 0
When I setup the event using DDay.ical I can successfully send the events to a user's outlook. The problem arises when multiple events are setup at the same time. When this happens all emails are updates to the original task, not new tasks.
I tried adding a name to the event using the .Name property, which results in the event email being an unsupported calendar invite.
I recently installed Visual Studio 2010 which caused the same error, every time i try to start the program i get this message. i am using windows 7 professional 64bit i only have one user account, and i am the computer administartor. every other program works fine but visual studio programs.
I have a windows 7 computer with vb 2008 express on it. it works really well, except only one thing. when I try to debug an application ( usually windows forms), it produces a run-time error saying: Error while trying to run project; unable to start debugging.
For each loop through a DataSet, I need to store the values of 2 columns (we'll call them ColumnA and ColumnB) so that I can use them to search the same DataSet again later. The DataSet stores the results of a search and places the value of ColumnA into a ListBox as a new item. When the user clicks on this ListBox item, the application will loop through the DataSet again using the value of ColumnA and the value of ColumnB as criteria to identify the correct row in the DataSet to return. This would be a lot simpler if the value for ColumnA was unique every time, but a value will inevitably be repeated on occasion. That's where ColumnB comes in. This column's value is likely to be unique 90% of the time, and, given the nature of the information in the DataSet, if either column duplicates, the other won't.So I've thought of adding the values for ColumnA and ColumnB into a 2 dimensional dynamic array, but I'm doing something wrong apparently.[code]
If urlQueue.Count > 0 Then Debug.Assert(currentFarm.isBusy = False) Debug.Assert(currentFarm.WebClient.IsBusy = False)
[CODE]...
The commented code won't work. That's because by the time the thread start, the variable currentFarm have changed. So I create a new function and cache the currentFarm in the function parameter. No there will be a cache of currentFarm address (object is always a pointer) on a stack and that address is the one being passed to the System.Threading.Thread constructor.
i want to check if time's column is sorted and after that save the table, for this i use this code but it seems does not work, evry time apears this MsgBox("Error")
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim sel_er As Integer
In my application I have several datagrids databinded to various tables. Within these tables I use many times a date field. The database is made in access. At the beginning I had the date format on default as long date. When I saw that time was added I changed it to shortdate. Still I get the time in the various datagrids. How do I remove the time from the datagrid so no time is entered when I create a new field.
I have the properties. I have the format property set to TIME. The text box on the form now shows the time. But when you click on the pull down, you get the date picker.
I've got a datatable with a DateTime field that I want to sort using a DataView. I only need the Time part of the column though, and not the date. I can't get it to show just the time and not the date as long as its a DateTime column. I know I could convert it to a string to get the time, but then it wont sort correctly.
The idea with this form is to add the futures which is calculated when the button is pushed but I need the list to update every time and show the values each time to which the previous value is added to the new calculation, e.g. of what it should look like in listbox:
Year 1: $1,290.93 Year 2: $2,724.32 Year 3: $4,350.76 etc....
I have been working on this a while and I am at a standstill, I was given a function to clear the form everytime it calculates but I don't know how to implement it, I am new to VB. Here is what I have so far:
Public Class frmFutureValue Private Sub btnCalculate_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, _ ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnCalculate.Click
Basically i'm trying making a task manager program for myself. I want to know how I can display a message box and or play a sound when system time = time displayed in listview. I have used a dropdown box for the user to select which option they would like to select - sound or message box to popup. The data for the task will be stored in a listview box. I want it so that when the date and the time is = to the date and time set for the reminder the action will follow. Here is my code so far:
Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click Dim notext As String = "" If TextBox1.Text = notext Then[code]....
1st label is "Clock" this pulls the time from the users current time zone/local time
2nd label is "UTCClock" Which would be UTC time
Now I have this for the first label: clock.Text = Format(TimeOfDay, "hh:mm:ss tt")
Which would give the users current time zone/local time. As for the UTC.. how would I add in for the UTC time from where the user is located at? I did some searches.. but couldnt find what I was looking for.. IM pretty sure its not as easy as getting the users current time zone/local time.. So im assuming that Theres a "bit more" code into getting UTC time..
to trace the days of a program installed in user's computer. However, the user can changes the system time of his computer to a advancing date. How can I get a SNTP time from internet to solve this problem?
I need a start date, a Total time passed until now, an average time per step, and a estimated time to finished. How can I do that? Also, I can close the application and when start up again I want to get the time counters as the last time, so How can I store that data is normal txt file (I say txt to take advantage of the ini app file which is a txt).
