I am looking at developing a pre-processor and wanted to know how to configure IIS to pass the requesting page to it before it is returned. For example, the user would navigate to a page with a ".app" extension and IIS would send the file to a console program I wrote to be interpreted, before sending the page back to the user.
View 1 RepliesI have this code for custom settings:
Code:
Imports System.Configuration
Public Class setLV
Inherits ApplicationSettingsBase
Private fpListViewItems As List(Of ListViewItem)
ReadOnly Property ListViewItems() As List(Of ListViewItem)

It works great for saving one Listview and its items but I need to save multiple Listviews and their items. I have no idea how to accomplish this.
I have been using custom shapes for some time now but the pixels always have to be 100% solid or it mixes with the color I have set as transparent and its starting to get a bit annoying. Is there any way possible that I could take a png image with transparent pixels and use that as my custom shape without the transparent pixels becoming that color I chose? This is what I have: I want to put my image as the background without the purple being where the transparent pixels are.
Me.Backcolor = Color.Purple
Me.Transparencykey = Color.Purple

ObjCrReport.SetDataSource(ObjPrintDataSet.Tables("PrintData"))
SetReportPageSize("XPaperSize 15 x 12", 1) ' call Procedure for setting Custom Paper Size

I have written a custom Bindable RichText Box, so I can bind to the Document property. However, as soon as I set my document content, the only keyboard input it accepts is the backspace key (???). No other keyboard input is acknowledged (including the arrow keys).

1. I have a DataGridView box, that is connected to a MySQL database via the 'Data Source'. I am trying to do the datagridview1.rows.add("info here"), however i receive an error i cannot do this programmatically. I DO know the code to post to MySQL via the "insert into" la la la.However, I was curious if I can do this via the datagridview a bit..easier/simpler, such as a "datagridview1.rows.add(stuff)" sorta thing.
2. I am attempting to make a custom control, and as with ANY control, they have their.. settings. Example, a textbox, or label, has so you can set the Text. and color, etc.Others, have it (such as datagridview) have the little icon on the control itself, where you click it, and it opens a small window with settings.
I Use the following code to detect if a sprite should be going up or down and the response
If (pos.Y + 100) >= Sprite.BottomY Then
Going_up = True
pos.Y = Sprite.BottomY - 130
End If
[Code]...
but it's pretty terrible. It only works when the sprite starts at the top, and when I want to change the BottomY and TopY, it just starts glitching. What is a better to detect if the sprite should be going up or down?
I've been trying to figure out how to create transparency in a sprite, i.e. with the use of a mask. Problem is, every tutorial I could find was either completely irrelevant or for freaking Visual Basic 1858.

I am creating a 2D RPG game similar to the pokemon interface. After solving my problem with walls, I came across another problem. If I make the panel show the whole map, it would be too small. Thus, I tried to increased the size to 1200,1200, but it wouldn't let me because my screen is smaller than that. Then I thought about it and realized that most games limit the sight of the map to the characters surroundings.

I have been searching the internet for a few days now, looking for ways to solve my problem, but I can't find anything. What I am trying to do is make my sprite walk. The way I did this was I made multiple GIF's with my characters different movements, but when I try to switch which ones are showing by releasing an arrow key, it does not do anything. Does anyone have a solution for this? My code so far is below, but it only lets me switch to the running GIF and not to the standing one.

I can't seem to find a way to get the Transparency of the character sprite to work. It always seems to take the background image of the form no matter how I tweak it.
View 15 RepliesI made a game in VB 08 and I have sprites and a background but I need to know how to make the background of the sprites transparent.I'd like to note that I'm using a picture box for my sprite, and the game is animated (I read that those things are relevant).I've read a lot on bitblting but I don't understand it, and when I found a helpful article it mentioned to use the .hdc. This article though was made before the introduction of GDI+ which now makes it harder to obtain said .hdc.

I am using vb.net by the way. From what I understand, Xna is not usable in visual Basic. Therefore, in order to create my characters, I defined a sprite class. Now my question is.... (I am drawing everything using a timer on the form btw by the process of invalidation.)... how do I use time to cycle through the images in an image array while the instance has no focus, and whilst the class inherits the "Control" class? Basically, how do i get these instances to act without user input? I want a character to eventually respond to user input, but I also need npcs that do not need any input in order to move themselves. Also, I need this in such a way that each instance's processes do NOT interfere with the processes of others. So that whatever timing I use does not also stall the whole window/form.

On top of my page I have a button called btnViewRecords. When the User click on the button I want to set focus to another button or label further down on the same page. How can this be done.
This code does not work for me..............
btnTheRecords.Focus()
or
lblHeader.Focus()
Even if my code did work, i dont want to reload the page every time.
My program needs to convert the variables users enter in textboxes from metric to imperial and vice versa so the user can switch units at any time during run time and have the values in the textboxes display the correct value. The problem is that for example if the user initially enters all his values in metric when converting I will be displaying the rounded value of the imperial value. If the user initially enters his values in imperial, when converting I will be displaying the rounded value of the metric value.
But the problem occurs when then user switches back to the original units all the values go to 0 because in the coding for my radio button I set the txtboxes to the rounded xxx value. How to code the radiobuttons to detect what unit was initially selected to set the right values. What I tried doing was set a counter on the radio buttons to determine which one has been pressed more often... but there has got to be a better way to do this..
Imperial Radio button:
Private Sub optImperial_CheckedChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles optImperial.CheckedChanged
'Change Labels to Imperial
lblMDegreeC.Text = "Degree F"
lblMDegreeC2.Text = "Degree F"

have been trying to research the net on the subject of "how to set a folder view utilizing a VB.form button" but I haven't been able to find what I need to solve my problem.Goal:- Click a button on my form.- It opens a folder.- As it opens the folder the view of that folder it opens is set to "details" and the folder is "maximized"
View 3 RepliesSo I am playing around with the resize event. My form is 500 wide, my button.left is at 100. If I use:
Dim int As Double
int = button1.Left / Me.Width ' this = 0.2
'resize event
'Button1.Left = (int * Me.Width)
TextBox1.Text = (int * Me.Width).ToString
The number in the texbox is correct - proportion wise, but it won't set the button1.Left to this number. I'm sure this is because int is a Double where .Left is an integer?
Can you set the default button of a panel with a button that is not in that panel but in another content placeholder within a master page? I have tried this but I get the following error:
The DefaultButton of 'pnlTmp' must be the ID of a control of type IButtonControl.
I have also tried setting the panels DefaultButton this way :
pnlTmp.DefaultButton = btnContinue.UniqueID
This gave me the same error.
I would like to set the tool tip of a button on a ToolTip control , but I would like it to do it by code during run time , not during design time . Is it possible ?
