I have created a banner for a sl3 app . What I need now is a timer(timespan?) event to trigger the banner to load new info every 5 seconds. I can't find info on timespan on how to trigger this event.

With this code the ComboBox displays with no text. If I remove the ComboBox1.DropDownStyle = ComboBoxStyle.DropDownList sentence then the text in ComboBox1.SelectedText = "Select Item"is displayed, but the user can input other values in the combobox that not match the listItems.

I have one form (FormA) that fills a combobox with data when the on-load event is trigged.In that combobox, I can select "New value" which opens another form (FormB) on top of FormA.On FormB I add the new data and saves them to a Database.Everything OK till here.I then close FormB.... and return my attention back to FormA.Now I would like to reload data into the combobox, but everyway I have tried, it will not work.

but it just makes the splash screen APPEAR after 5 seconds of nothing.
Silverlight project with tabcontrol hosting canvas objects. I want to wrap my entire tabcontrol with a scrollviewer so that on a short display you can scroll vertically to see the whole area on my canvas.When I run my project my scrollviewer vertical bar is always showing even when there's more room vertically than needed for a scrollbar.
All I am trying to accomplish here is a min resolution of 1280x768 to be scrollable and anything bigger than that have the scrollbars hide. My laptop is only 768 tall, but my canvases were developed with 1280x1024 in mind. So I would like a way to set this up so that everyone can scroll or just see the canvas all at once depending on their resolution.
Anyone have any ideas why it is always visible? I've tried setting canvas width and height. I tried setting stretch on alignments on the outer grid. Saw both those tips while searching other issues similar to mine.

Has anyone else had issues with Visual Basic 2010?My visual basic program has been running fine for months but recently every time I try and load a project (any project) the program freezes, then I have to close it down and reload, every time I load Visual basic for the second time I get the following error:

Document load is being skipped during this solution load in order to avoid that error.Plus when trying to run a project in debug it takes ages to load (around 5 minutes) this has only started happening recently, projects were loading in seconds.
i have to develop a software for motorola mc9090 that reads barcodes and rfids simultaneously, so i need to catch two different triggers: the one on the keyboard for barcodes and the other in the backside for rfids.the problem is that i didn't find any sample that illustrates how to set the trigger to read only barcodes, i found something on emdk 2.5 samples that shows how to set the trigger to read rfids but nothing for barcodes. So when i press any trigger the barcode reader is always enabled with rfids reader.Does exist a way to manage them with separated triggers?

I'm working on a simple "sports management" game just to test out whether I could make an actual one some time in the future, but for the life of me I haven't been able to figure out how to save the contents of the datagridview. I want it to be saved in a format that doesn't require the user to have Access or any other program, so that the only thing users need are the .exe and the database file. Another question about the datagridview: How do I access the content on specific rows and columns of the datagridview? If I want TextBox1.Text to be whatever is written on Row 4, Column 2, how do I access that information?

like 1/1/09, John Smith, (555) 555-5555, 101 S 1st Street and has numerous rows of info like this
so what I want it to do is just write this info to 4 different textboxes
like txtdate would just have all the dates of employees listed in rows or multilines
then another text box for names and so on.. Right now I just have it all being written to one text box.
I'm not sure how to separate all the information accordingly.

View 5 RepliesI have a LOB app written in VB.NET with a WinForms front-end and SQL back-end. After many months weighing up how to get onto the Web, I decided last month to use Silverlight 2. Now, Silverlight 3 Beta is out, but there is no end-user runtime.
Does anyone know when the runtime will be available for deployment of SL 3 apps onto client sites?
My dev timeline is about 3 months: should I persist with SL 2 and then u/g to SL3, or jump straight in to SL3?
I just made a project which a registration it has Tables/Database. [MemID] [Name] [Address] etc... I try to test this program i publish this to make a installer, after the installation, i run the program i put some information:
Example:
MemID : 1
Name : Julio Jose
Address : PO Box
Then I save all the information. While running the program I noticed that I forgot to put a remove/delete button. I close the program, and I edit my project to put the button (remove).. after editing i try to publish, uninstall and install the program. I noticed that the information I save in the program is gone. My Question is: Is it possible to update your program with out affecting the details/information of your program?
Okay I'm making a song organizer and I have a program that will load the files in a folder into a box and display the songs info into a list view. That part works fine but when you click the button to make it do anything it will get the variables that it need from the tags on the cells for each song but for some reason the one for the Album just disappears... I tried having it just show the value in a message box and it works fine. Just when I try to combine it with another variable then it wont show at all. Heres my code
