Can we execute any string like "Button1.Text = Value"
Question arises from sql server where we can store a dynamic/static query in a string (varchar) and execute it and it will put the value to the button1.
Im currently working on a project to build an application for Windows Mobile 6.I have a SQL query string:

I want to substitute the table name ie. BigC_Rangsit_0_ with a variable which contains the table name.say, during runtime the user selects a table from the dropdown list , that variable should be substituted with the selected table name dynamically in the SELECT statement.

that I am trying the following function, and it works to retreive the page source for normal web
sites, but it fails when trying to retreive this particular page.

I think that the problem is that the code is counting own a present length in the header, which is
not the case for a dynamically created page. (i.e. you dont know the length until you are done) As
such, the code should be written to read the entire reply.
I'm building one application with vb.net, but for my interface i need a static and dynamic view. Can someone explain me how can i do this or with what can be done?
View 1 RepliesIn my work i work with a custom program.This program has hundreds of conditional statements in code " if ...X="A" and Y = "B" or Z = "C" and W = 1000 then S = 1 else S =3 ,F = 2 end if".Any time we want to make a change we have to hunt down all these conditional statements and change them accordingly.I was thinking of separating them from the code,storing them away and preferably testing them and i believe i have an idea about the syntax of how to put them in SQL tables but..the real probelm is how to "parse", "evaluate","run" pick a choice.I just want to get rid of them from the code so when someone comes and add a parameter this won't require me to hunt it down.I am "dreaming" of somekind of console where i could feed the parameters and get back the value i need.So is there any parser that can handle this kind of "dynamic" conditional statements.?

View 2 RepliesI've got a DetailsView which has some static fields defined in my markup and adds some extra fields dynamically in the VB codebehind. It should be noted that the DetailsView lives in an UpdatePanel.Assume that I would like to get inventory information for a number of warehouses, but I only want to see those which have stock on hand. In addition I have some static information such as product, sku, etc.
The problem I was having was that every time I clicked the "Details" button it would just keep appending the dynamic fields to the end and never re-rendering the table. I figure I either need a conditional or to tell it to re-render somehow. I suspect this problem arises from my use of the UpdatePanel but it's important for the user experience of my customer to keep this.

The above result returns both 'element' nodes however it should only return the first where element/subelement@id=1/subsubelement@id=3 However if results.Ancestors. is used it returns the correct 'subelement' and if that line is not included it returns a single 'subsubelement' whih is also correct I don't understand why when mvoing to the 'element' it returns both (I realise both have a subelement with id=1 but I thought each further query would filter out the presvious results)?

At the moment I am using Access & an OleDb connection to store data. I went down this route originally because I though that this was the best way for applications that I am distributing to my clients.
I would prefer to use something like SQL Server but is this a good idea for software I am distributing? Does the average Joe's PC have SQL Server pre-installed? If not, I suppose I can provide them with a link to download it for free?

Foo(Lorem, IpsumID)
I also have a table called IpsumTypes, which looks like this:
IpsumTypes(IpsumID, IpsumName)
I would like to write a LINQ query which will have the following result:
Headers: Lorem, IpsumName1, IpsumName2, ..., IpsumNamen
Values: Loremi, count(IpsumName1), ..., count(IpsumNamen)
Each row represents a group of Lorem value and the number of each possible IpsumID in the group. New rows can be added to the IpsumTypes table, rows can be deleted too, so I need dynamically generated columns, because at the time of writing the code I'm not aware of the possible values of Ipsum. How can I achieve this? Is there a magical Linq query which solves this problem, or should I get the values from the database and parse them separately, if speed counts?

The user wants to dynamically construct a query referencing tables and columns and specifying values to test for.I have looked at Lambda Expressions and the Expressions.Expression Namespace. I think these provide the answer I'm looking for, but I'm not certain how to go about contructing the linq expressions to extract the datarows I'm looking for.

So I used this query in LinqPad to help me determine what the object would look like. I got back a IOrderQueryable(Of RSError) which then contained a IGrouping(Of String, RSError) for each grouped collection of objects returned by the query.However I ended up with the current object type of errors as IOrderedQueryable(Of IGrouping(Of String, RSError)) because of the cast error I am getting in VS.

I want to make a search form the user completes the 3 textboxes and 2 datetimepickers. (so five components).
Also I have a button called search and a datagridview.
When the user presses the search button it searches into those 2 tables (depending on what user typed in the 3 textboxes and selected on 2 datetimepickers).

When it presses the search button the results will be stored in datagridview(first textbox is the field DB-20-RTS from table PatrimoniuMasini and the rest are fields from the specified columns (name of labels) from the second table FoaieParcursMasina -is the second row from this second table).
Here's the code in my search button (don't know how I can store the 5 things(2 datetimepickers and 3 textboxes in the DataGridView) . My problem is in understanding the property item of DataGridView(DataGridView1):

trying to write a dynamic sql query that fetches data from oracle 10g database. My Where criteria is giving me real problems but i guess it has to do with the oracle data format. The data column is a TIMESTAMP data type storing values like 25-JAN-09 07.06.01.000000000 AM. Am trying to get rows having the columns matching a specific date( ignoring the time values), my where looks like this
