I'm using VB.Net 2005 appln with MS-Access 2007 as database.In my appln i'm using a datagridview1 control, without datagridview control, i'm able to insert records to my DB directly from my TextBoxes..
But after after using datagridview control i cant insert or can't open my connection.. providing a solution to it? I dont know what to include or change?

dgv.item(0,dgv.rowcount -1).value=textbox1.text
Then the value goes to the 1st col and 1st row. When I use dgv.rows.add() then value goes down to last row of the dgv control.
I have a list of customers (over 50k) that I am trying to change the way my users search and interact. Presently, they fill in parts of a first name, last name, home phone field(s) and then click a button and it searches and presents a listview list to the user for selection of the one they are trying to find. Fairly straight forward behind the scenes with a customers object making the call to the sql server on the network and returning customer objects as indicated. I want to add a datagridview control and display all customers and then have a textbox for the user to type their selection into and have the datagridview update accordingly.
I want the filter to be dynamic as the user is typing. What I have so far is the datagrid loaded with data and the text box. I also have a stored procedure that takes a string(the text box) and returns the customers collection object as the "new" datasource. But as you are guessing, that is to many calls to the database over the network. Just not very efficient. Once I have the original collection object, how can I filter it dynamically in memory as the user inputs characters into the textbox.
I have two datagridview's both are databound. First one shows items for sale and the second stores all the items that were sold. I am trying too transfer selected rows from one to the other but no matter what I keep getting told "Rows cannot be programmatically added to the DataGridView's rows collection when the control is data-bound."

Here is my problem: I have a DataGridView and I am adding a new row. In a particular cell, I have to check that the user does not enter existing values in the related table. That is, the value of that cell must be unique. If the user enters an existing value, the application must:
- Show error message
- Clean the cell
- Put the focus again into the cell, to allow the user to enter another value.

I am having problem with datagridview. Actually I have created datagridview control used to display the data using sqldatareader. My problem is that How can I fill the data in textbox control when user selects the row in datagridview using coding. I managed to include the checkbox column in the datagridview but i do not know how to wrte the code such that when the user wants to update or edit the data in the checked row, he just have to check the affected rows checkbox, can be one or many, and then click on ok button, which will then lead him to the data updater form, allowing him to update the data.

That data is eventually reformatted and displayed in a DataGridView control.In an effort to prevent the DataGridView from completely refreshing from re-databinding (thus, clearing out selections, resetting scrollbars, defaulting sorting settings, and making the gridview flash as it reupdates), I'm simply removing old rows from the datagrid that no longer exist in the DataTable, and adding new rows to the datagrid that appear in the DataTable since the last update.
For the sake of simplicity, we'll call DataGridView the LEFT table, and DataTable the RIGHT table I'm looking for a way to go through both tables (LEFT and RIGHT), and remove old rows that are no longer in RIGHT and delete them from LEFT. And look for new items in RIGHT and add them to LEFT. Each table has a column called "RecID" containing a unique id for each entry that can be used for comparison. is there a way to do this all in one loop? What I'm looking for, in pseudo code:
