Updating Excel In A Loop Does Not Update New Data?

I am working on trying to update a list of items to an Excel spreadsheet. I have created my own custom class called Songs and a List(Of Songs) that I want to update the spreadsheet with. It seems like everything is working -- I have even put in a debug msgbox that displays what Song it is currently on while iterating thru the loop -- but after the code iscomplete, I check the spreadsheet and only the first song in the list gets updated. I'm thinking it must have something to do with either the connection string or the parameters that prevents it from updating any other song records. BTW, there is no errors being tossed so it ats like it everything is being processed, just that the data doesn't change for the update inside the loop. Here is the section of

In my winform application, I have 2 datatables, both contains 37000 rows. Table 1 has 171 columns and Table 2 has 4 columns. A While loop runs to update values in Table 1 from Table 2 for 4 columns. A For loop runs inside While twice to update values. It takes more than 5 min to do so. which i think should be a task of 5 seconds.
Columns being updated are:
Int64 - 1 Columns
String - 1 Columns

I have two Datagrids, One grid has all the customers garments on it with style number and contact length. The other grid has the users who have garment issued to them. the style number is in both grids. I need to loop through the users grid and say if the contract number is 1 from the first grid then the contract date on the second grid will be todays date + 365 days (year contract) I have looked at using a stored procedure and also a for each command but I am just getting stuck with it all. I have an issue with a data base updating it won't update for me in debgging mode it is stopping here on this bit of code which is highlighted in red. the error which comes up is .(update requires a valid update command when passed datarow collection with modified rows.)

I am using Visual Studio 2005. I am using a data reader to read an Excel spreadsheet and want to update a SQL Express table. The datatypes in this table mimic a software application I will eventually be passing data to and are listed in the comments in my code. No matter what I do or change, this will not run. I even populated my spreadsheet with zeros and this will not run. I have found many suggestions on the web and tried changing things but nothing seems to work. I also don't know specifically which variable is causing the error or the proper way to make sure there are no blanks in this spreadsheet.The error says "conversion from string "" to 'Double' is not valid Here is my code:

I can do this with a for loop, but I was just curious if an arraylist can be updated using a for each loop. ie
For Each arrItem As String In myArrayList
arrItem = "My Stuff"
Next
If I loop through the arraylist again the values remain unchanged.

I am trying to make a for loop in which a picturebox is suppose to go up and then down. The problem I am having is that the picturebox is not animated; i.e, it does not update the image rather the image stays the same as from the start.
I am using timers to animate the picturebox and I have done something similar to:

Windows Forms, VB application... Forgive me in advance for this very elementary question but I am overlooking something really simple here. I would like to have a label show the current value of a variable as the for each loop runs.. I created a very simple Button Click event to figure out where its failing. As it is right now the value does not display until after the for each loop finishes running, which it should actually display the counter value each time it runs through... I know this is possible and really simple because I did it years back but for the life of me cant figure out why I am missing the bar as it should constantly update the label to reflect that?Test Sub is as follows:

The problem I'm facing is that the update happens correctly only for the first of many values. All the other values are calculated and consequently, updated incorrectly in my table. I am almost certain that the looping is what is causing the problem but have been unable to find a way around it.

I currently have a problem attepting to update a record within my database. I have a webpage that displays in text boxes a users details, these details are taken from the session upon login. The aim is to update the details when the user overwrites the current text in the text boxes.I have a function that runs when the user clicks the 'Save Details' button and it appears to work, as i have tested for number of rows affected and it outputs 1. However,when checking the database, the record has not been updated and I am unsure as to why.I've have checked the SQL statement that is being processed by displaying it as a label and it looks as so:

I have an application to re-sequence some items based on a an alphabetical ordering of the items from another table. I couldn't create an update statement to update the database when I pulled the information by a join query, So I pulled down both tables into a dataset with an XML Schema description where the two are related by the itm_id key as in the database. I then have two datagrids one with the items and one with the bound to the relationship this allows only the records associated with the itm to be displayed in the datagrid, I then run a loop that changes to sequence number for each corresponding record,this all works fine but then I go to update the back end database.
The update from the dataadapter executes successfully, but then if I reload the dataset from the database back end I find that the update did not actually update the records on the back end. The only record that was updated was the very first record which updated with a 0 then all the others did not take, I have re-run it several times and they will not take.

I am using VB 2008 Express, connected to a MS Access database for some reason my update command is not updating my database.i may have something wrong [code]whats wierd is when i change UpdateCommand to SelectCommand, it will update the database, but it makes other things in my program malfuncation, so i cant have that as SelectCommand, there must be a way to have it all work with the Updatecommand ..

I having a problem in my website where I have 2 objects held in session, both object are structured differently and do not have any links to each other (not intentionally). Both objects however, have a collection of "Travellers". What I am trying to do is modify one collection by adding or removing "Travellers", when a finish button is clicked, the modified collection will then be saved to the other object.The problem is that for some reason when I modify one collection in one object, the modifications are also made to the collection in the other object.[code]The issue is the Travellers collection within the object "BookingContext" is being updated when I add and remove from the collection within "PersonSearchContext". It's as though there is some sort of link or pointer between them.

I have a vb.net project where I have data loaded into a datatable in a dataset and have to do approximately 20 updates that are sql like. On this project, I don't have access to sql nor does the end user want to use any type of sql, sql express etc.
My question is, is there a generic way of doing this so I can reuse it. Was wondering if a dataview could be analgous to the "WHERE CLAUSE" and some type of delegate function could be the update function.

I"m completely stumped. I've looked here[url]... Changed my connectionstring appropriately. My dataset is fills with data. The Excel file already exists, but has nothing but a Header row. I am currently writing a program in vb.net that will read and write to an exel sheet using OleDbConnection. I can read in from the file fine. When I save to the excel sheet and open it, the changes are there, however, when I close the file it asks me if I want to save, which makes me assume that the changes are not saved even thought they show up.

in the program im trying to make i have a button that when clicked starts a fairly lengthly loop, takes a couple minutes to complete. while this is happening im trying to send the an update of the loops progress to a listbox i have setup. Unfortunately these updates dont make it to the list box until the loop is finished, ive tried this with a few different types (progress bar/ rich text box etc). i cant seem to get any form changes through while the loop is in progress.
Is there some option or event thing i need to specify to be able to make changes to the form while in a loop?
