I want the user to be able to select the AutoScaleMode at runtime.I have set everything up, and set:[code]When the user makes their selection, nothing happens.If I compile with the mode set to DPI, it looks like I want it to, but others will want the display to be different.How can I make the mode change take effect in runtime?
View 3 RepliesWhat I have found is that ifAutoscalemode is set to DPI or Font, the form Load event is raised during the form constructor (sub New). When autoscaling is not active, the form Load event is not raised until the form is displayed (Show method).This change of event sequences caused various errors from code I had in the Load event for various forms because the controls on the forms weren't completely initialized. I have worked around the errors for the most part so it isn't much of a problem anymore but it is forcing me to change some coding habits (maybe not good habits) that I have been doing for years.
View 2 RepliesI have a program that allows a user to select a program to run at a certain time for a specific amount of time all choosen by the user. Everything works with the exception of if my program has launched the other program, my program become non-responsive. Meaning I am not able to look at that window again. Not that one really needs too, because when time is up my program closes the program it opened, then closes itself. I just want to be able to see my program when the other program is running. how to do this and perhaps drop me some links, that would be wonderful. This is what I have coded, but like I stated there are no code errors.

I have an ASP.NET application with a SQL Server back end. I am storing all my dates in UTC format and doing the appropriate conversions to the local time zone of the browser viewing it. One of the pages asks for a start date and end date (no times).
I am taking the start date and setting the time to 00:00:00 hours (midnight) and I'm taking the End time and adding a time of 23:59:59, so that the date range covers the whole day. Now what I'm trying to do is do a SQL query to do a search for records in this date range. The problem is, the data in SQL is in UTC time and the user is typing their dates and times in their local date and times. My quickest solution was to convert the date and time to UTC, then search the records. However, by doing this, I am to believe ASP.NET converts the given time and date to UTC based on the server time zone. How can I convert a date and time to UTC time based on the time zone of the user?
I am creating a form for work where managers can report when they find a customer's personal information laying around on a desk (we work at a call center where agents answer calls for a wireless cell phone provider, so we take personal information security very seriously). I am writing an add-in for VB.NET 2008. I am getting some strange behavior when I run the generated form and was wondering if anyone has any clue as to why this happens. I re-booted and started fresh and get the same results.

I'm using the following select statement and it works fine but I need it to AutoComplete the results that contain the term as well and not just the results that start with the term. View 4 RepliesWriting a little program for my wife and thought it would be cool to have the calendar auto select the next day of her choice when she opens it. Example it's Monday and she opens the program to make notes about things for her girly get together every Thursday. Right now she opens it and has to select the next Thursday first to get the date.
What i thought would be cool is if the program picks the next Thursday for her, in the future the night may change to Tuesday so i don't mind hard coding the selection for now as it wont change all the time.Is there an easy calendar or date picker routine available for this or is it a roll up the sleeves, i searched and not finding anything.
I have a oracle database. I use the OracleDataAdapter(Oracle.DataAccess.dll) for select, update, insert, delete operations. I don't set any (table) locks on my own(I only start a transaction). I have a oracle table named "test" with the entry "test1".
Now my question: Can Person A read the entry "test1" while Person B is updating/deleting the entry at the exact same time? What happens in the worst case? An old match/empty match or can it cause any kind of exception/error(e.g. "TableLocked-Exception")?

Background: I need to create a user account and Modify it's registry before the user logs on the first time. Creating the account is done by using the Winnt provider (works great). To create the profile I'm trying to use Process.start to launch a process as the newly created user. With the use of loaduserprofile property the users profile gets created and i can do my regwrites without problem.
