First thing I should point out, i have looked all over, especially on DIC for examples, have found some, but none that i could get to work for me. I made a program that inserts data into a DB and then on another form it shows a gridview with the data from the DB. My first issue is im not sure how to insert items into the DB when the DB has an auto number field. I have seen on the internet to just not specify that field and let the DB handle it but its not working for me. This is what i have for that part:

I want to open an Access database and I want to multiply 2 fields between each other. I am a newbie and till now I only have found the way to open the access database and create my Recordsets. So, for example, if I have table Mytbl that is a recordset with 4 fields (columns) and I would like to multiply column 3 with column 4 and put the results in a new Recordset, do I have to do it by multiplying each and every record
I'm familiar with creating tables, updating, deleting, etc. etc. using a seperate VB program and a MS Access database.
However, I would like to know how I can start manipulating reports.
For example:
The user selects items in a combobox to filter certain items in a report.
The user selects a radiobutton to determine how the report is ordered (ascending by what field)
I've tried attacking this problem using VBA, but I haven't got very far. I couldn't even make a OnClick event procedure to execute the code I had written.
In my project i have different users lets say 100 users. My problem is most probably authentication. What i wanted to achieve is this;1. When user1 creates an account (saved database) with the following details

When he/she logging in into the system that information must be viewed by him ONLY. (authentication)

I am trying to import data from an access database to a access database that my project uses I am having problems with combo box fields in the database with the data. I want to import what is displayed instead of the numerical key value. Example: The combo box displays employee names but the value stored is the key value from the employee table so instead of importing John Doe it imports 2 is there a way to make the actual name instead of the number?
I'm writing an asp.net page with a simple registration form that connects to my access database and inserts the values in the table. So I have my database, my registration page, everything looks fine in my code, but there's a syntax error I can't seem to figure out. When I go on my webpage and click submit, it says : Syntax error in INSERT INTO instruction.

I am getting an error at the "Do While DMReader02.Read = True" line: "Invalid attempt to call Read when reader is closed." Why would the reader be closed at this point if I am using different DataReaders in the two loops?
I'm using VS 2010, and I did a project using VB and a database in Access. The problem is that when I try to put that "application" on other computers, sometimes, is not working. I thought it can be because on these computers they don't have access, but on one computer, is running another app which is using Access and there is no Access installed. I want to move my programs and the database to another computer and hard-disks. It looks to me as though I nearly have to re-create the controls and rewrite some of the code to make it so the programs still work after the move. At least with ODBC all I would change was the DSN definitions external to the programs. Is there an easy way to move or rename a database without loads of work?
This program is very difficult for me, but I must get threw it or I cannot finish... What I am doing is making a Database of foreign Languages with the spelling of the words and the pronounciation inside the database... The USER enters a paragraph of words into the translator textbox and pushed translate. The program has a DATABANK of words with the phonetic spellings and matches the word, then translates to phonetics. The problem is that new words keep appearing inside the language. later i needed to convert it in vb.net I converted it, every thing is working fine, but one problem appears, an adodc's Recordsource query for searching records is not working, it only works if there is data in dataset (Datagrid),suppose once i pressed search button to search record and if no record found then dataset / datagrid becomes empty, now i wanted to search an other record with other name, but this time it does not work and following error appears Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. I have created an access database which i want to search with vb.net, I tried a few thing but it didnt work as desired.
Firstly the program is suppose to display items in the database base on the criteria selected by the user. what i've succefssfully done so far is I've added a datagrid 2 combobox, 1 (searchcbo) with the columns in the database and the other (searchcbo1) will autoload the items under the column selected in and a button (searchbtn) but i have no clue of the code to put in the button. i also tried the fill method but that didnt work as i wanted to. ultimately i want a combobox with the list of columns and a textbox to enter criteria and of course a search button.
