Nov 14, 2009Is there anyway of reading the date a computers name was changed? I can get the OS installation date which is the same date that the computer name was first set.

then it goes into a SQL select query as a WHERE clause. When I debug, the query has changed this to '05/04/2010'. I want it to be in the format '04/05/2010' like it is when declared. Any ideas on how I do this?

I have a date time picker set to allow a person to put in their date of birth and I have it set to no greater date than 12/1/1992, but I need to check that the user has actually selected a date before the form is submitted. When I run this in my test app, Info is Nothing-but when I run it in the vendor's app Info is an Enumerated type. Why?
I've found a little more info, but it's still a mystery to me-and so far it appears to be a mystery to everybody else, too.
First, I noticed that I didn't mention that the Collection is a Hashtable. I don't know if that would make a difference, but it is something I forgot to mention.
Second, there's a 'regular' variable named ObjName that contains the value being returned by Info. My understanding is that there's no connection between these, e.g. Dim X as Integer = 1 doesn't change the type or value of the object of CommonArgs("X"). But that's what appears to be happening.
Any suggestion?

I have checked the settings on both computers (display settings, font settings, desktop settings) I've made both computers identical and still get the same result.
VS 2005 - Custom Control - Affect Records That Were Manually Changed
Jul 19, 2009i created a custom control that accepts only datetime values. [url] but i'm having some issues with it when it is bound to a column and then i navigate through records. it seems to trigger a row-change to all navigated records even though i haven't manually change anything on these records.
this is affecting the last_update_date and last_updated_by fields of my tables. i need to only affect records that were manually changed. can anyone help me? also, any date field should be bound to the Value property of this control instead of Text. haven't figured out how to remove the Text from bindable properties yet.

I added the colLocation to dgv."descirption" contains Unicode characters. I can see the comboBox correctly and choose the item.The problem is when the comboBox lost the focus, the value is changed to first item of the comboBox.
Updated:I found out that the ComboBox doesn't change the data when the DisplayMember is in English characters. It changes only when the DisplayMember is in Unicode chracter.

The file "VSProjectApplication.ico" is in 'C:UsersDennisAppDataRoamingMicrosoftVBExpress9.0'
Somewhere in the VB2008 "configuration" files I believe that I need to manually change the old path to the new path.
I found the old path in the ".suo" file. The ".suo" file is not a text file. How can I edit the .suo file, save it so that it will work?

sol() is a global variable that contains the characteristics of our 14 computers (in our own format, lol) which we then compare to the users input (via combobox). With "ordi" we "format" the choise of the user to match our format. then the grand comparing begins... the first for-loop should select the computers which fit best but we don't know how to "skip" that computer if the comparison doesn't fit (after all, we still want to use that computer for a second or third choise!). After that the next for-loop should pick the best fitting computer as no.1 (going from top priority down).
