I currently have the below code to list all tables in a MS Access Database, what I would like to do is alos COUNT the TOTAL records within each table and display that info in a listview control.
how to get that info.

View 8 RepliesI have an Access 2007 DB With 3 Tables I fill a form with information from 2 of the tables which works fine I then want to add a row to the third table with the information obtained from the form.(I know this may seem like duplicating data but there is a reason for doing this that I can explain if needed) This is where I am having the problem. I am trying to delete a record from a table by using dao recordset. Currently I am working with the code listed below. Unfortunately i've realised that this code only deletes the first record in my table, whereas I am looking to delete a record form the table with an ID that I would have put in textbox1

I am leaning VB and have created a basic inventory app for work that consist of 4 tables, CurrentInventory, Surplus, Staff and Category. Each of these tables have a corresponding form. My question is with the CurrentInventory and Surplus form/tables. I want a button on the CurrentInventory Form that when clicked the current record would be transferred to the Surplus table and deleted from the CurrentInventory table.I am assuming that I could somehow use the INSERT command to copy the current record to the surplus table but I am not sure how to accomplish this.
View 5 RepliesI am trying to do an insert into a table called Policy. I keep getting an error that says parameter @Split has no default value. To try and resolve the problem, I set the default value of the split field (of type text) in the Policy table to "0" in Access 2007. I am passing in the value of a string "0" into the parameter before the insert statement executes.

I want to use VB2005 to export tblCustomer from One.mdb to Two.mdb, and replace the existing tblCustomer in Two.mdb, during run time. I basically want to simulate the export function that is available in MS Access (which can export one table from one Access database to another) with VB2005 during run time. I can think of a way by querying the table to a dataset and then delete everything on the other database before filling the table in that database with the dataset. However, there should be something simpler and faster than that, shouldn't it? Any idea?

I'm looking for some simple code that lets me create a Microsoft Access table via code.Currently all I do in Access is write and retrieve data from specific tables but now I want to be able to create them at runtime. Here is an example of the code I use to load some data just so you can get a feel of what I'm currently doing. I have two tables Products and Categories with a many to many relationship. I am trying to copy the categories linked to one product (OriginalProduct) to another product (newProduct). The problem is when I execute the SaveChanges() method, I not only get the records in my linking table, but it also creates another copy of the categories in the categories table. I've tried this in many ways but here are the last couple that I've attempted:

But that makes the SQL query crash. It doesnt seem as though i am about to put anything related to "count" in my query or it will crash so is there any other way i can see how many records it returns other than that?
I have created a project that has an add a new record, edit record and a search form, that has multiple text, combo boxes and is working great.Last nite I have added a checkbox under my add new record form and i am saving the checkbox value to my database, so far so good. I would like to be able to search any record that is mark with a checkbox to show up in my search screen when I do a search: [code] The problem that i am having is that now that I have added the code to my project to search for the checkbox field in the search screen and if I leave everything blank and click on the the search button I get no record found. I expected to see all that data, since I have nothing selected. Now if I click my checkbox, as soon as I click on my search button I see that two records that I have added for my test.
