VS 2005 PictureBox Click And MouseMove In One?

Jul 23, 2009

I have a picture box that i can click on and drag the mouse around to define a region with in it. The problem is the region is not reset when you click and drag, only when you simply click. You then need to click and drag again and it does not set the region to the new location of the mouse. It is hard to explain so i have example code below. Simply copy and paste into a form named Form1 of a new project and run.

Option Explicit On
Option Strict On
Public Class Form1

Draw A Rectangle In Picturebox In The Mousemove Event In Application?

Feb 14, 2012

Actually I'm creating a simple paint application in VB.Net 2010. I want to draw shapes in my application same as we do in Microsoft Paint using mouse.

I'm a bit successful also using mousedown and mouseup events of a picture box. The mousedown event sets the starting point and mouseup event sets the ending point(diagonally opposite point of rectangle.) The problem is "Nothing seems to be occuring between mousedown and mouseup events(Well..that is obvious because I didn't add any code on mousemove event). My question is: "Can I do something to see a growing rectangle during mousemove event?". The rest of the drawing should remain unaffected.

Click A PictureBox And Then Move That PictureBox With Keyboard?

Nov 11, 2009

Ok, so I have a new challenge for the D.I.C. Heads. I'm making a simple little game using VB controls. I know it's not the best idea in the world but it'll have to do for now!

Here is whats happening. I've created a class that inherits the PictureBox control that I want to use to place my game pieces on the playing field.

Dim pbArmyUnit(0) As ArmyUnit ' ArmyUnit is a Class that inherits Picturebox now I create the playing pieces at runtime as needed and append them to the array. Player currently buys the units and places them on the playing field.

[Code]...

On a side note how can I look at a stack of pictureboxes all created at runtime to determine whats at a particular location? Example. I move my army unit over top of the picturebox that shows my forest. How can I tell what picturebox I just moved on top of? does that make sense? I don't need code for this just directions on looking at the right info so I can figure it out.

I am creating my terrain at runtime as well since it's randomly generated. and I'm basically making an array of 192 pictureboxes with the appropriate terrain image as well as some other modifiers. Just like with my armies above I've inherited picturebox and created a terrain class array, this way I'm able to add my movement modifiers etc, directly to the picturebox I place on the screen. It's these pieces of terrain that I want to be able to check before allowing the unit to move into them! to get movement costs etc.

MouseMove Event For Every Object?

Aug 3, 2009

I have this in my form:

Lots of ovalshapes... What I want to do is that when the mouse is over one of the shapes, it will display the name of the shape in a label. I can easily do it for each shape like this:

Private Sub p34_mouseover() Handles p34.MouseMove
Label1.Text = p34.Name
End Sub

[Code]....

But if I do it that way, I need to make like 120 subs. Is it possible to make one sub/function/whatever that handles this for every ovalshape?

VS 2010 - MouseMove Equation ?

Dec 19, 2010

I am rotating a picture dependant on the mousemove.

Private Sub PictureBox1_MouseMove(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles PictureBox1.MouseMove

[code]...

To simplify the part I am having problems with: rotationX = CurrentPositionX + ((InitialPositionX - MousePositonX) / SlowDownDivisor)

As an example, this occurs in both X and Y; If I click and drag in the X + Direction and release the mouse button it does exactly what I want, rotation in the positive direction. If I click and drag in the X + Direction and then drag in the X - direction, the rotation continues to be positive, it doesn't reverse. If I release the button and then click again and move in the X - direction the rotation is negative as it should, but it will continue to rotate in the negitive direction until the button is release.

Add Event Handlers For MouseMove And ButtonEnter?

Jun 20, 2012

Alright my goal is to test to see if the user has dragged a label over a button. I have add event handlers for MouseMove and ButtonEnter, the trick is that i dont want the buttonEnter sub to fire unless the user is actually dragging a label.Dim dragging As Boolean = False

[Code]...

I thought would work but because the user is dragging the label the mouse never actually enters the button field. I also tried doing lbl.location = button.location... but unless the label and the buttons are the exactly the same size in exactly the same location then the event wont trigger.

VS 2008 Drawing Dots/polygons On Mousdown Or Click Event In A Picturebox?

May 1, 2010

I have a problem. Im trying to create a form that enables a user to add dots on a mouse click event over an office floor plan. I have searched the web and this site but still am struggerling. My aim is to be able to draw dots (purpose is to highlight problems) and polygons over the plan (purpose to define which service area the floor area relates). I want to save all graphics to an access database with associated
fields.

My thinking is to place a second picture box over the first and make this transparent and use this as the user interface? I dont expect anyone to solve this for me, however, any help with how to draw dots and polygons through mouse down or mouse click would be most helpful.

Forms :: Random Functions - When Start Program And Click Picturebox - Same Card Will Always Come Visible

Mar 30, 2011

Okay, so I'm doing a card game and I'm trying to set that when picturebox (PictureBox1) is clicked, a random card from 13 cards will come visible. Problem is, that when i start the program and click the picturebox, the same card will always come visible. As you can see i've put a button (Button1) which will hide every card. If I press Button2, then Button1 and then the PictureBox1 it will show differend card, but the cards which come visible are always the same.

e.g i press PictureBox1 (which will make card visible), then Button1 (which will make PictureBox1 non-enabled) and then Button2 (which will hide every card and make PictureBox1 pressable). Lets say i pressed the PictureBox1 four times and i got cards: 9, 6, 7, 3, then I close the program, start it again and press PictureBox1 again 4 times and it will show the same cards (9, 6, 7, 3). How can this be done that it will not show the same cards always?

Here's my code...
Public Class Form1

Private Sub Button3_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button3.Click
End
