VS 2005 Run .Net Exe On LAN With Server As Dynamic IP Address?
Aug 21, 2009
I am trying to access VB.Net exe on a client system through LAN.Its working fine for server with static IP address. In case I try to access it with server having dynamic IP address, It doesn't provide access(config file containing server name).
In Order to access that exe with dynamic IP I need to specify current IP address of server in config file.
How it's possible to access that with server name as it's not feasible to change IP address in config file on daily basis

I need to represent the following query using LINQ:
DECLARE @PurchasedInventoryItemID Int = 2
DECLARE @PurchasedInventorySectionID Int = 0
DECLARE @PurchasedInventoryItem_PurchasingCategoryID Int = 3
DECLARE @PurchasedInventorySection_PurchasingCategoryID Int = 0
[code]....
Now, I know that a query in .NET doesnt look like this, this is my test in the SQL Design Studio. Naturally VB.NET variables will be used in place of the SQL local variables. My problem is this: All of the conditions after "WHERE" are optional. In that a query might be made that uses one, some, all, or none of the conditions. V.PropertyID and V.Value can also appear any number of times. In VB.NET I can make this query easy enough by simply concatenating strings, and using a loop to append the "V.PropertyID/V.Value" conditions.I can also make a Stored Procedure in MS SQL, which is easy enough. However, I want to accomplish this using LINQ.

GetProcAddress Function Retrieves the address of an exported function or variable from the specified dynamic-link library (DLL).Lets say I have something like this:
Dim moduleHandle As Integer = LoadLibrary("C:myDLL.dll")
Dim methodName As String = ""
GetProcAddress(moduleHandle, methodName)
DLL should be win32 standard dll or .net dll.
How can I run the exported function if I have the address of it through GetProcAddress().If someone could supply some code it would be great.

i need to know what will it take for me to access, insert, update and delete data to a database on a remote SQL Server. I already made some configurations to the SQL Server 2005 that I want to access by following the steps coming from this link -> [URL]. But somehow I am still getting an error. My primary concern is "What connection string should I use on my client VB.NET application to connect to the remote SQL Server?" Since I will be connecting to the SQL Server via Internet and not by LAN, I am wondering which IP Address and Port am i going to put on the 'connection string'? How can i get my 'TRUE' Ip address? Or is there any other way to go through with this? It will be very helpful if you could share your insights and knowledge. Here's my sample connection string:

I'm allowing users to manage a distribution list stored in a database. Users are only allowed to enter emails that are @mydomain.com. A web based application then takes the distribution list and sends emails. I'd like to validate that the email is valid before sending an email from the application.
To send an email I'm using this code:
Dim SendTo As String = "ThisIsNotARealEmailAddress@mydomain.com"
Dim SentFrom As String = "me@mydomain.com"
Dim MessageBody As String = "blah blah blah"
[Code]....
Is there anyway to validate the email when the email address is added to the database, instead of a try catch block when sending the email?

I am trying to get the path for my page and I succeed to get it using an HTML image tag:
<img src="images/slider/<%# Eval("BannerImage") %>.jpg" alt="" />
Is there a way to make it dynamic using the asp:Image tag?
I tried to make it like this:
<asp:Image ID="Image1" runat="server" ImageUrl="~/Classified/Images/Slider/'<%# Eval("BannerImage") %>'.jpg" />
And I got an error:
The server tag is not well formed.

Sub sendMail()

Dim AnEmailMessage As New MailMessage

I use this code to send an email through gmail account but the thing I want to do is, I want to check whether the given email and password exists or not and if it exists then pop out a text box with the body of the mail and type the text and then send it as a mail. But in the above code you have to log in and type body and when you send the mail , It verifies for the email and password while sending and if anything goes wrong says there is no such gmail account.but i want to check it whether the email and password exists or not, when the user enters the email and password at the beginning itself. So that he enters the right email to log on to compose a mail.Is there any way to check whether the given email and password is correct at the beginning only ?

1) My idea is establish a connection between PC and Mobile through IP address in first, but my question is 'How to do it' ? izit same like PC to PC by using Winsock open a port to access? i'm using VB.Net 2005 for PC and Net60 for mobile.
2)My mobile phone Nokia 6220 Symbian OS is support GPRS/3G. Since the GPRS/3G can connect to the internet, izit means mobile itself have a IP address and service provider in order to surf the web? So, can i connect my mobile phone to PC through this gateway?
