Send Arguments To Paint_event?

Aug 15, 2010

Trying to figure a way to to send specific arguments to the Paint_event form another class. Its a simple game with enemies running to the middle, the class "Enemies" contains X,Y data along with the current image to draw. Now I want to give these arguments to the paint_event on form1 of Picturebox without having them save to a single data carrier. I remember BackgroundWorker allowed you to give arguments to its Do_work sub and use it with e.arguments, but I doubt I can do that on the paint event.

VS 2005 Opening A Program From A Link Or Sending Arguments To A Program?

Sep 14, 2009

I want to have a link in an email with an ID number. Then, when the user clicks on the link in the email, it either launches my program, or brings the program to top, depending on whether it is opened or not, and then loads the record for that ID number from the link (the software is a record lookup tool). If I can figure out how to "send" the program the ID, I can figure the rest out.

Would it be better to create a new row or to access an existing row?

VS 2005 - Using Exchange To Send Email

Apr 29, 2010

I am developing an application which includes the ability to send email. The code works fine for sending internal emails but it fails: server unable to relay mail 5.7.1 when trying to send externally.

This is the code.
Public Shared Function SendEmail(ByVal SubjectText As String, ByVal BodyText As String, ByVal Recipient As String) As String
Dim msgClient As System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient
Dim msgTo As System.Net.Mail.MailAddress
Dim msgFrom As System.Net.Mail.MailAddress
[Code] .....

I get the same error if I change the password to something incorrect so I'm wondering if the NetworkCredentials are being ignored? I've seen articles where teh IP address of the server must be trusted by the SMTP server or it won't relay the mail but I thought I was doing the same as an email client such as Outlook with the code above: that can be used from any PC on the network without having to specify its IP address on the SMTP server.

Is it possible to send information to a USB Video game controller in VB.Net? The kind of information I want to send to it is information causing the device to think that a button is pressed on the controller when it really is not. Or even better, is it possible to make a USB wire that connects to your computer and another USB port on something such a computer and send information that a video game controller would send to the other computer or whatever? Basically what I want to do is emulate a guitar hero controller sending the data of the buttons being pressed to an xbox 360 console.

2005 - Server / Client RTF Formatted Text Send / Receive

Instead of the send message text box and message display text box, I have replaced it with RichTextBox for text formatting (bold/italics/underline/font/color). The problem I am facing is when I format the text and click on send, then the text displayed on the message display box (txtMessageHistory) is unformatted. [Code] Rest of the code of client is related to formatting of the rich text boxes that is not relevant to my problem. I just need to transfer the formatted text from client to server and then back to the client the same way and display the message with text formatting.

VB 2005 - Socket Send Only Few Peaces Of Data And Loose A Big Part Of It

Nov 25, 2009

i'm developing a server application using vb.net and i'm facing a problem. in fact i have a huge data to send to the client via the socket so i use a loop to divide the data and send each part the problem is that when i proceed with the sending the socket send me only few peaces of the data and loose a big part of it. i tried to flush the buffer after each sending but i didn't find how to do it so i used a system.threading. thread sleep between each socket send. it works when i don't have huge data but it blocks my server when the number of packets increases. is there a solution that would replace the. sleep one without blocking the application?

I've tried supplying 'Nothing' and 'Nothing' for both required parameters, also empty and populated byte arrays in combination with 'Nothing' for both required parameters, but I consistently get an 'Invalid argument' exception. I've tried a web search for an answer, but the only mention I've found was a question asked about 8 years ago, with still no answer.
