I am trying to send information to an mdb. I have already retrieved data from the database. I have preformed changes to the data, they are all still integers and there is the same number of results as there are samples. How do I get the new results back into a MS Access database?
Output
Dim dr As DataRow
dr = DS1.Tables(0).NewRow()
[Code]....
Would it be better to create a new row or to access an existing row?
Suppose I have two exes WindowsApplication1.exe WindowsApplication2.exe..On the form load of WindowsApplication2.exe,I m calling WindowsApplication1.exe & sending the command line arguements..I copy the WindowsApplication1.exe into the debug folder of WindowsApplication2.exe.

I was wondering how is the easiest way to send a email thru VB .NET 2005. I want to send a email every 5 minutes a certain text (that I have no problem the only problem is how to send the email with the address, server address, user name, password, etc).

View 2 RepliesI am developing an application which includes the ability to send email. The code works fine for sending internal emails but it fails: server unable to relay mail 5.7.1 when trying to send externally.
This is the code.
Public Shared Function SendEmail(ByVal SubjectText As String, ByVal BodyText As String, ByVal Recipient As String) As String
Dim msgClient As System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient
Dim msgTo As System.Net.Mail.MailAddress
Dim msgFrom As System.Net.Mail.MailAddress
[Code] .....
I get the same error if I change the password to something incorrect so I'm wondering if the NetworkCredentials are being ignored? I've seen articles where teh IP address of the server must be trusted by the SMTP server or it won't relay the mail but I thought I was doing the same as an email client such as Outlook with the code above: that can be used from any PC on the network without having to specify its IP address on the SMTP server.
I was just wondering how the hell you send documents of different type directly to the printer without a preview.
At first I thought this would be easy but so far I have had no joy at all.
i have problem about datetime i use os vista, sql server 2005,vb.net 2008 string is = "insert into ....... values('23/3/2009')" in program time is correct but when i go to sql server,it's show 23/3/2555 when i saw at os is 23/3/2009 i think this problem at sql server but i don't know how to fix it Do you understand me?

Is it possible to send information to a USB Video game controller in VB.Net? The kind of information I want to send to it is information causing the device to think that a button is pressed on the controller when it really is not. Or even better, is it possible to make a USB wire that connects to your computer and another USB port on something such a computer and send information that a video game controller would send to the other computer or whatever? Basically what I want to do is emulate a guitar hero controller sending the data of the buttons being pressed to an xbox 360 console.
View 6 RepliesI am trying to communicate with an external device and i am trying to send a byte array to the external device via sockets but i am always getting a response the message size is too small so i am not sure what i have done wrong. Between the data type there should be no alignment present and all numbers are represented in little endian format. The char array is not null terminated as mentioned in the protocol specifications.I have to send data based on a struct that embeds 2 other struct. So here's my vb.net code for the struct used to convert to byte array and the sending part.[code]
View 6 RepliesInstead of the send message text box and message display text box, I have replaced it with RichTextBox for text formatting (bold/italics/underline/font/color). The problem I am facing is when I format the text and click on send, then the text displayed on the message display box (txtMessageHistory) is unformatted. [Code] Rest of the code of client is related to formatting of the rich text boxes that is not relevant to my problem. I just need to transfer the formatted text from client to server and then back to the client the same way and display the message with text formatting.

i'm developing a server application using vb.net and i'm facing a problem. in fact i have a huge data to send to the client via the socket so i use a loop to divide the data and send each part the problem is that when i proceed with the sending the socket send me only few peaces of the data and loose a big part of it. i tried to flush the buffer after each sending but i didn't find how to do it so i used a system.threading. thread sleep between each socket send. it works when i don't have huge data but it blocks my server when the number of packets increases. is there a solution that would replace the. sleep one without blocking the application?

View 1 RepliesI am a one man dev shop and need some outside opinions on how to approach this project.
I need to create a "post office" program that will send html emails thru the system.net.mail framework.
For each job submitted to the postoffice the app would need to read a user created html email string from the database, read a string of email addresses to send to and send out the emails based on a set processing time.
The first step would be to parse out the email addresses to find out how many emails it needs to send out and determine how many it would need to send per minute to complete the job in 20 minutes tops. I.e. if 1000 email addresses are submitted per job it would determine that it needs to send 50 emails per minute to complete the job.
The part I am stuck on is how I should queue the emails. If the app determines it needs to send 50 a minute should I only load up the first 50 on a timer event then get the next 50 queued up for the next timer tick? Or would it be better to load up all 1000 in a loop and build in some kind of wait time after it sends the first 50?
[Code]....
Now as you can see it is sending the textbox1 text and then pressing enter then sending textbox2 text! Theres quite a few problems in that but before i discuss note: This code is in a Timer. Problem #1: It does not send the keys fully correct all the time because its trying to send them all at once! So i want it to send them 1 letter after the other with 200 ms sleep in them! Problem #2: The sleep is not working: The reason i know is because even after it did the first textbox1 text it didnt wait that 2000 ms!
Are there any good books out there that will show someone how to set up a form using Visual basic that will take information and send it to the server and then send a recipient an Email?

I am trying to send keys to a control on my form. But I am getting a NullReferenceException and I don't know why. The code is about as basic as it gets: [Code] The error reported is object reference not set to an instance of an object but Send is a shared method so doesn't need an instance. Strangely if I ignore the error it works fine and F4 is passed to the control. I know there was an issue with sendkeys and UAC but I thought this had been solved (I am using 4.0 framework).
