I have a form that adds new contacts. New contacts are added by pressing an appropriate button and they appear as an entry in the list on the form. I try now to add an edit button that will edit existing entries.User will select a given entry on the list and press edit button and will be presented with an appropriate form (AddContFrm).Right now it simply adds another entry with the same title. Logic is handled in a class called Contact.vb Here is my code.
Public Class Contact Public Contact As String Public Title As String[code]....
I'm trying to create a Library System in VB 2010 which is connected to a 2007 MS Access Database manually. I was successful to create a "Search" button where it displays content from the database based on the user's entries on several text boxes.
The result is shown on a Data Grid which I set to allow Editing on it. My problem now is I can't find a way to create an "Edit" button. My idea is basically allow the user to search, let the result be shown on the data grid, edit the data grid, and click the Edit button to save the updated records back to the database.
My question is it possible to create such button? Here is the code that I use to connect to the data base for the Search button. [CODE...]
I have a DataGridView and i binded its datasource to the datatable. Now i want to edit and delete the data from the datagridview in this way:I did this in asp.net and now i want to do the same in the vb.net.What i want to do is that each dataGridView row will contain two link button called edit and delete(in the above figure they are the imagebuttons of asp.net),when i will click the edit link button then it will change to update and cancel link buttons and the contents of that particular row will be shown in textboxes so that the row can be edited by the user.
I want to edit the data into the ListView of the first item. when i right click on item..But when i right click selected item not come in edit mode...
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load For lcount As Integer = 1 To 3 ListView1.Items.Add(lcount.ToString, lcount - 1)
We are thinking about changing our current database system, MS Access 2007 front end and MS SQL Server 2005 backend to using a higher level language such as Visual Basic .Net. I wonder if this is the BEST solution for data management? Currently, among others, we have two big database programs that handle more than two hundred users and it's crashed often. That's the reason we think about changing to something that can handle these database programs effectively preferably using MS technology such as .Net.
I am trying to speed up the process of changing flags within an INI file used for a program. Ideally i want a simple form with ON/OFF radio buttons which are specific to different options within the ini file. For example, if i wanted to turn Printing off in the ini file, i could select OFF for which this will edit the ini file and change the setting "Printer=0"
Code: Dim file As System.IO.File Dim reader As System.IO.StreamReader Dim line As String Private Sub RadioButton1_CheckedChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles RadioButton1.CheckedChanged [Code] .....
I have created several simply custom controls and I used them in my app. Now, I changed the background color in a custom control class, because I wanted an other color for this type of control. But in my app, the background of this controls didn't change. Why? I assume, I don't need to place again this controls on each forms to get the new background color, or do I? If yes, this is very stupid in my opinion.
I recently moved my Application that was running off of Window XP and created in VS 2005 over to a box that's running Windows7.Now, when I try to debug, I can't edit. In the lower portion of the screen, it gives me this error: Cannot currently modify this text in the editor. It is read only.
Under Tools->Options->Debugging, Edit and Continue are already selected; so it's something else. Also, under project properties->compile I have it set to Cofiguration (Active Debug) and Platform (Active Any CPU).
I am busy with a Windows Forms application. The purpose of the application is to convert Excel documents to HTML format so that they can be published to a website.I have most of the code finished and the application is looking really good.I have although encountered a problem. On the Form I have created an Export, File and Edit button. With the edit button I would like the user to be able to select whether they would like to save the 1st,2nd,3rd sheet and so forth.
I would like to create a window/Form within the edit button that would say something like "select excel sheet" along with a save button where the required sheet number could be saved or selected as a standard save procedure everytime.I know that I need to do this with the settings.settings control. I have tried numerous ideas up until now but it continues to baffle me.
I have a file located in "c://nakahiru/config.cfg". Inside the file at line number 13 there is a line call (bind "0" "slot10"). I just want to replace that line with textboxt1.txt. I am using visual studio 2005.
i have a problem in creating my program. i am using vb.net 2005. after i finished some modules in my program, i saved it. and the other day, when I'm going to continue my work, i can't be able to edit it. when i run it, the additional features that i created were not found. but, after running my program, i can see my added features in the form. i don't know what to do, because i am not familiar in vb.net, i am just a beginner using it.
I have a gridview with an object data source. I have the edit and delete button on each row but cannot get either one of them to work. I do not receive an error, it just doesn't delete. Refreshing does not show deleted either. The method within the dataset is.[code]
A change I made to the project's configuration must have disabled the ability for me to edit the code at runtime. I used to be able to pause execution and edit code on the fly, but I recently made a change to the configuration manager to build releases for x86 and all of the sudden I can no longer update code while running the app. This is very frustrating as I have to keep stopping and starting my app.
I have a datagridview. i fetched the data in the datagridview from the database(access) and then i want to edit the contents of the datagridview. the datagridview looks like this:
I have been trying for about a hour to get this to work but I cant. Want to do is change the location of my button when I check my Checkbox I tried If CheckBox7.Checked = True Then Button3.Location = (100, 277) End If is this wrong? It seems like it should work but it doesn't.
I'm making a simple text game over the summer for something to do and was wondering if it's possible to change a buttons OnClick functions on the fly?
For example, if they enter a door I want to change the buttons OnClick to call a different subroutine instead of the one that's already predefined in the code.
I have a form which has ONLY three buttons. Somehow they got named Button5, Button6, and Button7.
When I try to rename them Button1, Button2 and Button3 to match code, I get a Dialog box which, if I look at Details, says the Button name is already in use.
Is there something I can do to enable the renaming?
How To Editing The "Connection String" in the Configuration file by the Code in the Runtime. This is my Code My.MySettings.Default.Item("ConString") = "New Connection String" My.MySettings.Default.Save() This code can edit the Configuration file in the run Time but if I restart the system the Configuration file will return back to the first Configuration.
I am trying to build a form that has a button on it that will open up a 2nd form that allows me to view and edit the connection string. I believe the connection string is also called app.config, and can see that in the Solution Explorer for the project. All I have managed to do is drag a button onto my main form and relabel it. I have no idea how to create code to access the connection string.
