Sep 14, 2010I migrated an application from Vb6 to .NET and there are still a few bugs to fix.One of them is when I want to edit a record, the inputs should have been populated with the coresponding data from the database. Instead, only the drop-downs are populated, the text inputs are blank.

Apr 28, 2010I have a form that adds new contacts. New contacts are added by pressing an appropriate button and they appear as an entry in the list on the form. I try now to add an edit button that will edit existing entries.User will select a given entry on the list and press edit button and will be presented with an appropriate form (AddContFrm).Right now it simply adds another entry with the same title. Logic is handled in a class called Contact.vb Here is my code.

Database Condition - All Inputs Required From User On Form
Nov 4, 2009I am building a program where all the inputs (10) required from the user are asked on one form. Since it is not possible to let fields blank on the database, I would like to know how can I build an 'IF' saying that if all fields are full, then the database CAN save all the input. So that if there are any field blank, it won't save. I just dont know how to do the database condition. Thats all.

Jul 28, 2010I am busy with a Windows Forms application.The purpose of the application is to convert Excel documents to HTML format so that they can be published to a website.I have most of the code finished and the application is looking really good.I have although encountered a problem. On the Form I have created an Export, File and Edit button.With the edit button I would like the user to be able to select whether they would like to save the 1st,2nd,3rd sheet and so forth.
I would like to create a window/Form within the edit button that would say something like "select excel sheet" along with a save button where the required sheet number could be saved or selected as a standard save procedure everytime.I know that I need to do this with the settings.settings control. I have tried numerous ideas up until now but it continues to baffle me.
Can't Change / Edit Project
Nov 30, 2011I had to switch computers at work to a laptop. My co-worker was using this laptop and we where both working on the same project using CollabNetSubversion to update the VB project. Well he left and reformatted his Laptop and now I am using it.
I took the VB project from my PC to the laptop and now every change I do won't show up if I run the program.I can completely commit out code for a form and it still runs!My trial version of VB ends in six days so I can't use the PC anymore.

Mar 16, 2011I'm trying to create a Library System in VB 2010 which is connected to a 2007 MS Access Database manually. I was successful to create a "Search" button where it displays content from the database based on the user's entries on several text boxes.
The result is shown on a Data Grid which I set to allow Editing on it. My problem now is I can't find a way to create an "Edit" button. My idea is basically allow the user to search, let the result be shown on the data grid, edit the data grid, and click the Edit button to save the updated records back to the database.
My question is it possible to create such button? Here is the code that I use to connect to the data base for the Search button.

When I load the form, Cb1 and Cb2 are connected to a bindingsource.
When I change Cb1, the code (below) changes Cb2 to show only the items according to Cb1
This is working fine.
The problem is when I change Cb1 , change Cb2 and click the save button..... Cb2 seems to be 'lost'...
I'm using VS2008.
