Scenero: Users inputs the barcode numbers into a textbox, hits the search button and is returned the description of that barcode.
Database:
Two fields: Barcode - barcodes in this field
Description - Description revalant to that barcode
Form:
Consists: Textbox(Input) - txtBarcode
Button(Process) -btnClick
Listbox(Outut) - lstDetails

This is the code i got to connect to the database itself. Then i got this code for the search part

What i need to know is:
1) Is the code for the search right.
2) How to get it so the description for that barcode is displayed in a listbox.

I've got a code using SQLClient that loops though all users in a Users table inside each loop i want to preform another search in the UserOrders table, thus doing a count of all orders.

I am using the Mysql .NET connect and can connect to my database using my program. i want to be able to get a Users Password from the database using there user name

I am trying to use the .net connector within my program. I have got add, delete and update working however cannot get search to work. What I would like the program to do is, you enter a value into a textbox and then press a button. The value in the textbox is searched and then the values in the database corresponding to that value are entered into the other text boxes. This is what I have so far:

Im writing a simple VB program that connects to an oracle DB which retreives and inserts data to a table I created.[code].....
I want to be able to search through a table I have created to store all the information.Rather than just searching for one variable which would be easy to do, I want to give the user the option to filter out the search from the form.So say the user hits "Find", they would be given access to 10 comboboxes, they would select the information they want to search for (They do not have to select every box) and then click "Do Find".Then the form would display all the results of the query in the form.

i have wrote a loop to search for duplicate numbers within a column in a database which i have got fine but when i find a duplicate i would like to get the all of the row so if 33 was a duplicate i would like to get the following row.

I have tried to do this buy use something i saw on msnd's website:

However if i change the line to notice the i beside the like

I have a txtbox(for barcode).. if i input a item number in that txtbox and if that number will match in your database, the other information(shall we say, product type, item ID, etc..) will display in my other txtboxes..

Is it possible to have a Textbox on a form that when the user inputs data, ( during Runtime )that data remains in the Textbox for good and the Textbox then becomes read only ? Is it also possible to make it so that the CD with the programme on, is in the PC when the programme is being used. Perhaps writing the Textbox data back onto the CD ?

I have a scenario in my vb.net project.I have 70 textbox in my form and planing to save it in the database using access.It's hard to explain y is there 70 textbox there but i will just draw it here [code]5 in the column X 14 in row = 70 Textboxes.What i did is I place all the GRAVEL textbox in the table batch with the attribute name GRAVEL by using a string name called GravelLin.[code]I manage to save the text in this manner txtg,txt2g,txt3g,

I am trying to search a database with a textbox control and I want the search results to display in a datagrid.The table I want to search is called Movies. I have a BindingSource attached to the form a long with a dataset (dsMovies) containing the Movies table and a table adapter (MoviesTableAdapter). I am coding a Windows Application in VB.NETI am coding one particular form for an Emergency Reponse Information System (for varsity)On my form, I have three textboxes (one of which must be filled in) and below them I have a datagrid. I want the user to fill in one of the boxes and then click a Search button. These textboxes correspond to different column names in the same table. There is a Location textbox, an EmergencyResponseID textbox and a Name textbox. So if the person types in a location "Washington", then I want all the Emergencies that have happened in Washington to appear below in the datagrid.

I've created a basic search form. I have a textbox with a search button and an Access Database as the backend. I have also added it as a new datasource. What I'm looking to do is grab the search string from one textbox and return the data to another textboxt. I have a table called "VehicleInfo" and I want to search the field in my table called "VehicleID" and return the vehicleID I searched for into another textbox. I'm really new to VB. I understand databases and basic code structure, I just don't have a good grasp yet on how these two work together.

searching a database using multiple words from a textbox showing in gridview.

It works fine, i click button and the gridview shows all the right records. The problem is when i use more then 1 word in textbox. it shows nothing. The record in the database field may have several words, so i need to search using all words in textbox.

I have three different textboxes on my form. What I am trying to do is send the inputs the user puts into the text boxes in an email. I have the email working but all the text is run together. I would like to have the inputs from the different textboxes to be on separate lines.

working with Adobe .pdf files. I have an Adobe .pdf template that allows the user to enter text into different parts of the .pdf template (such as name, address, etc.) I have been developing a VB.Net program that is made up of a set of user forms. I would like to be able to have data that the user enters into textboxes on the VB.Net user forms write to specific areas of the Adobe .pdf template on the click of a command button. I have searched MSDN and Google but I have been unable to find any information on this particular task. If it is can you recommend a MSDN type article or any articles/books/message board posts that provide guidance on how to proceed with something like this.

I have sucessfully written in excel VBA. The idea is to used the textbox1_change event to find a match in column A of table and once it finds the record, return the value of column B as label1.text. [code] In VB 2008 it's a lot different. I have set up the form the same way with the textbox and labels. I have made a dataset with (1) table (Table1) with (2) columns. Lets call them column A and Column B.I have added the dataset as a binding source to the form and also a table adapter. I also have a standardized query made for the dataset with a very simple SQL statement "SELECT Column A, Column B from Table1"..In order to get the user input to start searching Column A I assume under the textbox_change event i would put something like: [code] I'm getting a bunch of errors of course. Would somepne be able to give me some direction?

I have written an application that uses the Crystal Report Viewer Control. (And yes I am 100% sure we are all using the same application, run file, and viewer) When some users run my program they get a GUI interface that asks for parameters. Other users get a web-like interface. What dll, ocx, or other item controls this? I would like to get all my users on the same type interface.

I am a former IT student and have not used VB in a little while but feel it can come in handy to help me complete some tasks at work.I am trying to write a small program which will open a url + a number for each number entered into the textbox. As an example lets say the website is "www.google.com/id=" and I enter into a textbox 3 values such as "134,325,2112", www.google.com/id=134, www.google.com/id=325 and www.google.com/id=2112 would all open at once.
The purpose of this is at work, we have an employee database and would like to load multiple employees at once (upto 6 at a time) to compare profiles. The issue with doing this manually is we have to fill out the search criteria for each, instead, I would like to load a link with parameters in it already filled out + the employee number we are searching for each number entered into a textbox on a VB form.
