Loading Multiple Websites With A Different Variable In Each, Based On Textbox Inputs?

I am a former IT student and have not used VB in a little while but feel it can come in handy to help me complete some tasks at work.I am trying to write a small program which will open a url + a number for each number entered into the textbox. As an example lets say the website is "www.google.com/id=" and I enter into a textbox 3 values such as "134,325,2112", www.google.com/id=134, www.google.com/id=325 and www.google.com/id=2112 would all open at once.
The purpose of this is at work, we have an employee database and would like to load multiple employees at once (upto 6 at a time) to compare profiles. The issue with doing this manually is we have to fill out the search criteria for each, instead, I would like to load a link with parameters in it already filled out + the employee number we are searching for each number entered into a textbox on a VB form.

I need some tips for shared variable to share the information for multiple running application. For example, the value of variable become 1 when a user run the first instance(execution), and become 2 when the user executes the second(in sames OS or through network).

Is it possible to have a Textbox on a form that when the user inputs data, ( during Runtime )that data remains in the Textbox for good and the Textbox then becomes read only ? Is it also possible to make it so that the CD with the programme on, is in the PC when the programme is being used. Perhaps writing the Textbox data back onto the CD ?

I have several text boxes which a user is supposed to input a numeric value and the program will use an array to verify whether the input in each text box falls within the numeric range allowed for that text box. So one text box will only accept number 3-7 and i'm supposed to create an array that will verify the input in that text box falls within that range. Personally, I would just do:
Dim intInput1 as Integer
intInput1 = CInt(txtInput1.Text)
If intInput1 >= 3 or <= 7 Then
messagebox.show("Input Verified")
Else
messagebox.show("Input must be a numeric value between 3 and 7")
End If
But this isn't what the assignment asks.

I have a window application develpoed in vs 2008, framework 3.5, in which i have put a button.. Now where i click that button the other text boxes are filled up with the data from database thru web service.. what i want is while all text boxes are being filled i want to show an animated loading gif image till data loading is completed in all the text boxes.. i have tried to use image picture box but while data is loading gif image is displyes but in static mode.. cant see animation... i think this is because data loading and animation both are done thru one UI thread..

We have several VB.NET websites running internal applications. These sites are often modified with minor changes, and are maintained on the server as uncompiled code. I'm looking for the best way to maintain classes so that we can reference them from multiple websites.
Specifically, we're looking to put some common functions (error logging, common database calls, etc.) into a centralized location where they can be maintained separately from the sites and called as needed. And we'd prefer to have this on the server as uncompiled code, so it can be uploaded without precompiling. I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but what is the best way to set this up?

I have three different textboxes on my form. What I am trying to do is send the inputs the user puts into the text boxes in an email. I have the email working but all the text is run together. I would like to have the inputs from the different textboxes to be on separate lines.

working with Adobe .pdf files. I have an Adobe .pdf template that allows the user to enter text into different parts of the .pdf template (such as name, address, etc.) I have been developing a VB.Net program that is made up of a set of user forms. I would like to be able to have data that the user enters into textboxes on the VB.Net user forms write to specific areas of the Adobe .pdf template on the click of a command button. I have searched MSDN and Google but I have been unable to find any information on this particular task. If it is can you recommend a MSDN type article or any articles/books/message board posts that provide guidance on how to proceed with something like this.

I have a problem to load a value into a global variable, I am using VB Net (2005) in Windows Forms, this is a multi-Forms program. Here is my problem, as I start my program, it check if my form "Setup Option" has been loaded ounce, if it did it, it does skip it. When "Setup Option" is loaded the first time I have written 2 values into 2 textboxes using My. Settings and on form Closing it does work, if I re-open "Setup Option" form I can see the 2 values in the textboxes E.g.: txtGst.text=5, txtPst.text=6.5, so good so far. Now what I would like is to be able to use the contains of them 2 textboxes and place them into global variables, I already have a Module "modGlobals.vb".

im using my logic in the page load fn. i have an variable id. while loading page the variable id want to increment by 1 and value remain same... initially the id have 0 while calling the page load 4 times this value have to be 4.

I'm sure there are similar threads, but I've search and tried most things and still can't find something that works.
I am testing a small project, in the attempt to find the solution for a much bigger application. So, here's the deal. I'm using VB 2005 and MSSQL 2005 (both are Express editions). I've stored the names to some images in the database.
When I use PictureBox1.image = My.Resources.<filename>
and build the application, it works and properly displays the image. Now, what I'm really trying to do is extract an image names from the database and assign it to a variable, this is what I have.

I've used the messagebox for testing so that I can see what the value of "Trythis" is, and the string is "My.Resources.<filename>", which is the correct string, but I can't use that string in the picturebox to display the image, because I get an error "Value of Type String can not be converted to System.Drawing.Image".

In my user control you can load an image into a Bitmap type, it then displays the image onto the usercontrol. However, it works fine with .gif format images, but when i use .png it seems to make the image bigger than what it is.

Say I've got the following variables:
Public Shared x As String = "100"
Public Shared y As String = "text"
Public Shared z As String = "something"

But this doesn't do what I want, naturally. What I want is that my function giveVar returns the value of the variable that holds giveVar. For example I call giveVar("x") I want my function to return "100".
Of course this can be done by a Select Case but thats not what I like to do. Is it even possible to call a value based on a string?

I'm working on a program that uses a COM Object exposed by a .dll. The .dll has a known bug, though, where it acts very erratically when more than one instance of the object is created under one .dll, resulting in crashes or corrupted data a large part of the time. I'm curious if there is some way I can load another instance of the .dll itself, then create another instance of the object without having to need a new process for every instance.

Everything I know about .Net programming tells me that the behavior I see here is completely impossible. Simple code:

When I put a break point in here, I see that after RtlMoveMemory, my wk1 contains a pointer to a username, and all the others are 0. This is consistant. Now, if I change Dim test As String = "" to Dim login As String = "" and run it again, wk1 contains pointers to both username and logon_domain.
If I change it to Dim login As String, it contains a pointer to only the username. Depending on what I change that (completely unused) variable name to, I get a different result.
I have always been under the impression that it cannot possibly matter what you choose to name your variable. And that declaring a variable, and then never using it, cannot possible be different from not having a variable there at all.
I've tried this on 2 computers, with consistant results (one on .Net 3.5 and one on 4.0). When I tried converting it to C#, however, I was not able to reproduce it.
I am aware, by the way, that I can just use System.Environment to get what I need about the current user information; this was old VB6 code that was automatically upgraded (and I've edited it a little to make it more trivial).

I'm planning on a private software, that I wish that have multiple pages, like a installer. It will not be a installer or anything, and I don't want to use tabs on it (it doesn't fit to what I'm thinking.) How can I do it?
