im using my logic in the page load fn. i have an variable id. while loading page the variable id want to increment by 1 and value remain same... initially the id have 0 while calling the page load 4 times this value have to be 4.

I have 2 web pages. In the first webpage I have a text box which takes an user input.The number of controls rendered in the second page is based on the user input in the first page.I am storing the user input from the first page as a session variable [code]Now, I wish to use this session variable in the next page for initializing a global variable and what I tried to do is Dim num_Invitees As Integer = CType (Session("NoOfControls ToGenerate"),Integer)But this gives me a NullReferenceException.Can someone please suggest me what exactly I should be doing in order to use the session variable to initialize a global variable and also why the session variable's value is null while using outside a function but works fine when used inside a function?

Now I have a requirement to add a link with HoverMenuExtender control and for that I need to put ScriptManager in the Master page, but it is working only in the content pages where there is not ScriptManager.

View 3 RepliesI want to access a page variable from a user control placed on that page. All the solutions work in C# via casting to the page class. The problem is that this doesn't work in VB. The page class is not selectable from the Intellisense dialog. Manual typing results in the error type not defined. It is strange that C# can do this without a problem. What is the proper solution for this in VB? I had other cases where I needed to access a control on the main page. C# again uses a cast to the page class to access the control. This doesn't work in VB again. So how can I access the page class from a user control in generell?

RouteTable.Routes.MapPageRoute("defaultRoute", "{*value}", "~/default.aspx")
So, if someone enters:[URL]...Even though that page doesn't exist, the application pulls up default.aspx
Now, if this wasn't using a wildcard it would be easy to pull this value in on default.aspx like so:
Dim prospect as String = Page.RouteData.Values("value")
But this doesn't seem to work with wildcards, e.g.:Dim prospect as String = Page.RouteData.Values("*value")
How can I get the page to pick up these variable values? e.g. one time might be janedoe, another johndoe, another goose, another 12345, etc. Whatever it is, I want it to be returned into the string prospect.
I use this to load html page by xml

but i got some errors like :

I've made a tabbed web browser and I'm using
CType(TabControl1.SelectedTab.Controls.Item(0), WebBrowser).Stop()
instead of WebBrowser1.Stop() for navigating.
but I want to know when a web page has finished loading?
Normally the following works, but not with tabs

View 1 RepliesI have a problem to load a value into a global variable, I am using VB Net (2005) in Windows Forms, this is a multi-Forms program. Here is my problem, as I start my program, it check if my form "Setup Option" has been loaded ounce, if it did it, it does skip it. When "Setup Option" is loaded the first time I have written 2 values into 2 textboxes using My. Settings and on form Closing it does work, if I re-open "Setup Option" form I can see the 2 values in the textboxes E.g.: txtGst.text=5, txtPst.text=6.5, so good so far. Now what I would like is to be able to use the contains of them 2 textboxes and place them into global variables, I already have a Module "modGlobals.vb".

I typically write my own servers, javascript, etc in vi. I've been given a project to enhance a VB.Net / ASP.Net application and I'm having some troubles figuring out how to get the user control to render BEFORE the page finishes loading.When I use normal browser as the viewer, everything works OK. When I try to use generate the page as a report, the report generator spits out the PDF while my JavaScript graph drawing stuff is still in it's initialize functions.They are using EvoPDF as the PDF generator. It appears the page is being considered complete after the page is loaded but before the javascript is executed.I admit I'm a bit lost when it comes to ASP.NET, but I know HTML/HTTP/JavaScript very well.How can I force the page load to wait until my usercontrol finishes rendering?

I have a usercontrolthat has to do a lot of DB calls which can take a few seconds making the page slow to load. Ideally I'd like the main page to load straight away and then the usercontrol content appear when it is ready.
I have been tasked to do a project, and have been given a list of links from the client - what the Project needs to do is:1 - open google with a specific search phrase - no problem2 - look on that page for any links containing any member of the list of links, if found, invalidate the entry in the list, and auto-click the link, then go back3 - repeat for any other "finds" on that page4 - when done, auto-click on "Next" (no problem) and go back to step 2For now, I am not even attempting to auto-click the found link and go back, I am just listing all found links in a TextBox. The problem I am having is waiting for the next pages to load before looking for a match in the list of links. I tried using webBrowser.DocumentCompletedto set a Boolean - I tried testing WebBrowserReadyState in the DocumentCompleted event ar the code below gives the best results but it is inconsistent, meaning it completely misses some pages that I know have links on them that match.

I am testing a small project, in the attempt to find the solution for a much bigger application. So, here's the deal. I'm using VB 2005 and MSSQL 2005 (both are Express editions). I've stored the names to some images in the database.
When I use PictureBox1.image = My.Resources.<filename>
and build the application, it works and properly displays the image. Now, what I'm really trying to do is extract an image names from the database and assign it to a variable, this is what I have.

I've used the messagebox for testing so that I can see what the value of "Trythis" is, and the string is "My.Resources.<filename>", which is the correct string, but I can't use that string in the picturebox to display the image, because I get an error "Value of Type String can not be converted to System.Drawing.Image".

You have a window (we'll call it window 1) open with a page in it, you enter some data on the form, push the button to submit the data...behind the scenes a decent amount of work is going on.While data is processing in window 1 , you open window 2 and try to load the same page that is processing data in window 1.Window 2 will not render the page until window 1 is done doing whatever it's doing behind the scenes and has re-rendered on the screen.This is happening for all .NET pages in our environment.

In my user control you can load an image into a Bitmap type, it then displays the image onto the usercontrol. However, it works fine with .gif format images, but when i use .png it seems to make the image bigger than what it is.
