VS 2005 : Make Program To Select A File, Create DataTables And Then Perform Some Other Functions?

I am attempting to have my program select a file, create DataTables and then perform some other functions. I want to be able to open another file and re-do the same steps.The problem I am having is that I add columns to my Datatables and when I try and to open another file while one is already open I get a message that a column of xyz is already added how do I properly "clear my datatable" or perhaps that isnt even the correct approach? I am in the process of revising code to use TVP to send data from our VB.NET app to the SQL 2008 DB and try to keep all the writes atomic.[url]...
I am in the process of creating all the in-code datatables to be sent to the SQL stored procedure
However, I will have to create these datatables and datacolumns (then add the columns to the tables) repeatedly for multiple tables.

Which is fine, if I want to use mysql update all I have to do is call something like: sqlUpdate("test", "test", 0, "test", test) I was wondering if I could do the same with the SELECT statement and make a function. I cant think of a way to do it though...

I am trying to make a vb.net program which will perform WMI queries to check for remote computer's name and OS. I manage to do the first query of name using the code below..

I am getting error "Local variable 'query' is already declared in the current block. (BC30288)".I understand that I am using same name for the object variable for performing subsequent query. Is there a way in which I can dispose the variable completely and reuse it again for querying the new required WMI detail? My search in the net couldn't give me any clue as of how to clear the variable and use it again. The issue is with two variables "query" and "searcher". Is it only possible that I should give unique names to each query object variable as I might add more queries later on?

Im learning Visual Basic 2010 on my programming class and we reached the part of file handling. Here i tried to make a simple program that can create a text file with the content of what i type on the textbox, basically i create the file if it doesn't exist, and if it already exists i append the content to it. Once the file is saved i can read it using the "Open" button. Unfortunataly, whenever i try to create the file, the compiler gives me an error saying that it cannot modify a closed file, although i've followed up the execution instruction by instruction and i can't find the error.

How can I make a program so you click a button and select a File using a OpenFileDialog and click send on your computer and it will send the file to a different computer and then a SaveFileDialog will show asking where to save the file on the other computer. Oh ya I cant use WinSock or whatever becuase im using Windows Vista 64 Bit. I need it because I for some reason cant use printer sharing. It might be because im on A 64bit Vista Machine and I want to print a file off of a 32bit XP Home Machine.

I'd like to know how you can actually select(highlight) a program from a list of programs displayed in a list box in Windows Form. I've done research and most results end up with openFileDialog condition or have to manually type the directory path. But what I have currently is the display of a list of programs in a list box(like Add/Remove Programs) but I'd like to have the user launch it upon double-clicking or clicking on a button(after a program is highlighted).
In short, it's like selecting a program in Add/Remove Program but instead of the Uninstall button, I want it to be a Launch button. I believe I already have the executable path behind the codes with the registry so I just need to know how you can select, and launch.

I have created a SELECT FROM WHERE query to perform a search here is my code:
SELECT EmployeeID, DepartmentID, Forename, Surname, Role, Email, Telephone, Extension, Mobile, Photo FROM Employees

I have then put the folllowing code to rung the query within my form:

I am trying to match between two datasets. Based on some predefined criteria the matched items are stored into a datatable. I am trying to create a program which will allow users to select multiple files from a list and then burn them all to a playable DVD. It would be wonderful if i could setup a custom menu programatically as well. I have seen some documentation on Imapi 2.0 but i have not been able to find too much suppoert for it. I have also found a few SDK's out there but most are over $1000 which just isnt in the budget.
1) Is there a library included in windows 7 that will allow me to do this.
2) Is there an inexpensive or open source sdk with good documentation out there to do this with

I am trying to create a LINQ query statement that retrieve intersecting data from 3 datatables (dt, dt1, dt2). My first attempt to do so with the following LINQ query statement was successful: [code] However in my design, I would need the LINQ query statement to be dynamically generated, because I want a user to be able to retrieve intersecting data entries from VARIABLE number of datatables. In this case, the first option is not as good as the "INTERSECT" query operator, with which I can just easily connect each SQL query statement with a "INTERSECT" operator. The problem is that my second attempt using the "intersect" operator fails, and after many trials and errors I still can't get it to work. [code]

I created a DLL with VB6 which registered OK as it contained DllRegisterServer and DllUnregisterServer - these seemed to have been automatically put in place.I upgraded the source code to VB 2005 and built the DLL but now it will not register itself as the DllRegisterServer and DllUnregisterServer elements have not been created in this new DLL. How can I instruct VB 2005 to include these elements?

I'm redoing a program for my company and my boss wanted me to created the entire thing through functions...
For the task I wanted to know is it possible to have functions within functions?
Sort of like in C where we would have nested structures?
Its a FILE I/O, with robot commands, moves and verifications....
So I would find the line in an excel spreadsheet where it moves, the coordinate, put it into an array.
Take the actual results store them into a two dimensional array...etc, etc....
Another function would eventually compare the results with the moves, and within a tolerance.

I'm using VS2010, SQL2008 and using asp.net vb - im stuggling with some db related items.I have a couple tables, Project and Projectstatus - looking something like this.project
- ProjectID (autoincrement)
- ProjectName varchar50
- Projectoverview varchar200
Projectstatus
- statusID (autoincrement)
- projectID varchar50
- projectstatus varchar200
What id like to happen is that when i create a new project (into the project table),that a row is created in the projectstatus table, inserting the projectID from the project status for reference.I don't think this can be done from within VS, correct? therefore, do i need to create a SP to perform this action from DB side?
