VS 2005 Using The Multiple Boolean Values?

Jun 29, 2010

I have code like the following:

Dim Flag as Boolean
Flag = Function1ReturnValue
Flag = Function2ReturnValue
Flag = Function3ReturnValue

Now ideally 'Flag' should only have a true value if all three of the functions returned 'True', but as it stands now it won't do that. There needs to be an 'and' or an 'or' or an '&' or something like that, but I'm confused as to what needs to be.

Exclude Multiple Values In Sum Depending On Values In 2 Columns In SSRS 2005?

Apr 21, 2009

I have simple columns and their respective sums. However, I exclude 1 particular value from each sum, like so [code]...

Now I need to exclude another value ("Awaiting Progression") from a second column called "PROGRESSION".

Since I already exclude value based on 1 column called CATEGORY, how do I change my =Sum(Code.ExcludeOthers(Fields!CATEGORY.Value,Fields!ACTION_PLAN_NEW.Value)) to exclude a value from the PROGRESSION column if it's = ("Awaiting Progression") ?

i.e. How do I exclude multiple values, depending on values in 2 columns in SSRS 2005?

Asp.net - .NET Entity Framework With WHERE Clause And Boolean Values?

I'm pretty new to MVC and the Entity Framework, but I'm sure this should be straight forward. I've got a class with a boolean "Active" flag. I then have a function that returns the results by date descending. All I want to do is ensure that only active records are returned. Should be simple, but it fails with the following error:

Error 13 Overload resolution failed because no accessible 'Where' can be called with these arguments: Extension method 'Public Function Where(predicate As System.Func(Of Review, Integer, Boolean)) As System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable(Of Review)' defined in 'System.Linq.Enumerable': Value of type 'Boolean' cannot be converted to 'System.Func(Of PowellCasting.Models.Review, Integer, Boolean)'.

Pass Multiple Values And Return Multiple Values?

When I click on button1, employee_id and P values need to be transferred from button1_click to Cal_Category13() and go through all the calculation. After the calculation, udtnew.X and udtnew.MTD values need to be transferred back to button1_Click

I've no problem to return multiple values Cal_Category13().MTD and Cal_Category13().X from Cal_Category13() to button1_Click but i've no idea how to transfer employee_id and p values from button1_click to Cal_Category13().

VS 2008 What To Name Boolean Data Member And Boolean Method

Nov 17, 2009

From what I read it is a good convention to name a method that returns a boolean value with the prefix of "is" or "has". So in keeping with this convention I am trying to name a method in my program with this prefix but I am running Specifically I have a class called Day. It is a simple class with a few data members and one method that returns a boolean value of true or false. The name of the boolean variable is isSpecialDay. This class has a method called isSpecialDay which takes the date of the day, applies some criteria to the date and then sets the variable isSpecialDay to true or false. My problem is that the boolean variable is named isSpecialDay and so it the method. What should I do?

Returning Multiple Values From Function

Mar 17, 2009

I am working on a project I would like to use a function in a class I created to return multiple values in order to populate a listbox. I wanted to use a do until loop to achieve this. I will just post a simplified example of what I am doing :

Public Function Listboxfiller
Dim astring As String = "This is a string"
Dim Counter as integer = 0
Do until Counter = 5
return astring
Counter += 1
Loop

Then on the form I would do something like :
lstListbox.Items.Add(Myclass.Listboxfiller)

What happens right now is that the listbox only gets the first value, when I ran through in debug mode I found the loop only runs once, even though it should go multiple times.

I would like to have something like this

In which I can specify what columns I want to display by their header name. Rearrange the column in the way I would like to, and ability to copy and paste. Like datagrid in Visual basic?
