i'm doing a desktop application using VS2005 with MSSQL 2005. i have a problem with the where clause in the update statement while selecting the listbox item. this is the code for the listbox in load page:

and this is my update query in the delete button event handler: mySQL = "update Appointment set recordStatus = 'deleted'" how do i put in the where clause in when i have 4 columns in the listbox? so can i do this with listbox or have to do with datagridview?

I want to have a listbox on the left and on the right a textbox and when i select an item in the listbox i want to read a text file or database and display the value related to it and then have the ability to amend the content.

Our project is to make some simplified POS software, in our case, for a restaurant. The form I am currently working on is where you pick food items and add them to a listbox which will essentially be the order form. I made a database in Access that has food-item info and linked it to the VB project.url...My combobox narrows down the food items according to what category is selected, i.e. "Lunch".Now.. is there any way I can select an item from my database records (right box) and add them to an empty listbox that I'll save to a txt file. The database box is called "FoodItemsDataGridView" but maybe I don't even refer to that, I have no idea..

I have a listbox with all items related to a person written in one line, e.g. Name, Gender, Phone #, Address, Email (all separated by a ControlChars.Tab).. How do I choose each individual item alone, e.g. Name, from a line to put it in a separate line in a file.This isn't working.. Can you tell me what code to use?

The List Box has three candidates and a record Button. Every time the record button is hit I need it to add those button clicks for each candidate that is selected in the List Box. My code keeps counting all the clicks no matter which candidate I am selecting in the List Box. How can I differentiate between each selected item in the List Box.

i have a listbox which can be updated. and another listbox with some denominations concerning the first listbox. i am populating the listbox directly from the database. each item in the first listbox have many denominations given in the second listbox. the problem is when i add new items into the database, the items of the first listbox repeats. so in ma updated listbox, the items get repeated. how can i avoid this repetition.

On my form is a listbox. When the user clicks insert (in the menu) then I add a blank item in the listbox. The user then enters the data and then I want to update my listbox with the value(s) the user entered. The problem is that I don't see the update in the listbox, unless I reload it from the database. how can i automatically update my value when a user changs the listbox item. At the moment i have a button click when the user changes the list box item and press the button the values get updated, everytime the listbox item get changed i have to repeat it click the button to update the value. I want something where automitically as soon as the listbox item selected the total value in the text box to change without clicking the button:

i have 2 list boxes.. Qty and Cost both of these are populated from a sql database. The code is suppose to read through the listboxes and multiple the Cost by the Qty and then replace the Cost with the new result. The Cost listbox is populated with the cost of one item. The reason i am not doing this calculation in the sql query is because the sql query is very complicated filter out a bunch of stuff to show just the qty of the item...

How do I make it so that each item in a listbox can have a different font color? This is the only basic code i know that can change the font color of the listbox items. When I go to add a 2nd item and set the color, the first item in the listbox also changes to that color, I don't want that.

I have a month and a year dropdownlist which give me the following string 01/2012 The date format in my db is "2012-01-01 00:00:00" but when I select an individual date and put it in a message box it converts to "01/01/2012"
I've altered my select statement below to reflect the converted date. However Im still not given the correct details. Any ideas? Is there a particular format that I need to use when dealing with a timestamp field? Can I even use the "Right" function in a select statement?

I'm trying to only add the And If if intLink_pk > -1. If it = -1, then i don't want the and clause at all. Is this posssible within the linq to sql itself?I understand i can write 2 entirely different selects, but if I can't get this done, I may have to write about 50 of them as I want to use multiple Ands if certain conditions are met on the form, such as chk boxes etc.

If myVariable is "a", control will go into the first case statement. Now let's say if myVariable = "a", but inside a's case block, I find that executeB is true, is it then possible to jump to the second case?

I am trying to read data from an excel sheet but there is an exception saying that no value given for one or more required parameters which I don't understand. Here is my code upto where the error is pointing to:

The exception points to that last line MyCommand.Fill(DtSet) which shows me that there is a problem with my select statement. Previously my code reads the data and displays it without the where clause in the select but when I added the where statement so that it can only read data from rows where the column I has a value equal to 176, it instead gives an exception that shows that some required parameter is missing a value?
