VS 2008 Add Items Then Change Properties Of Those Items?

I know how to do what is in the subject already, but I want to do it a different way than what is stated in the subject. What I want to do is be able to create multiple items with different names and then load the names into a listbox. When I select the item in the listbox with the name, such as Item1, it will put the text from the control named Item1 into a textbox.
I am clueless as to how I could accomplish this. What I am doing is adding Items to a menustrip's dropdown Item, then adding items to the dropdown items. So I would have the item collection such as:
One
Two
Three
So I could choose the item in the listbox with the text "Three" and I could load several properties of the item Three. Such as Three.text, Three.Tag, and Three.Name. And I could also edit these. And then when Three is chosen in the listbox, I could add sub items to it.
So it would look like this in my perspective(Although the code would not work)

I get this error tho: Unable to cast object of type 'System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripSeparator' to type 'System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripMenuItem'. As you can probably guess i have ToolStripMenuItems and separators in there
However the AndAlso should short circuit in the case where the item is not a ToolStripMenuItem and it doesn't seem to be doing so (as TypeOf xItem Is ToolStripMenuItem=false in this case)?
I am using the listbox control. Now I know how to change all the items in the design view. But how can I change it through code so I can change what it says during run time. How can I get it to say have 5 options 1 2 3 4 5 Using code?

How would I remove an item from the listbox.. I used the code below to populate using a class with description and value properties. I cant use listbox.items.indexOf("listitem1") to get index I cant use listbox.items.remove("listitem1") If I use listitem.items.removeAt(1) it works of course. How can I get my index in this case?

Certain areas of my tab control have become what seams to be transparent using Visual Basic Express 2010. I can rearange items in the tab, except in certain blackhole like areas. When I move a item within the blackhole area or move a item to the blackhole area it disapears to another tab. I can move items out of the blackhole region and they sit where I put them.

For my program, I need to make a group of text boxes (anywhere from 14 to 546 unique boxes) "Enabled = True" or "Enabled = False" depending on a user selected value.
In a little more detail: The user selects the number of data rows on one tab. On the other tab are 40 rows of text boxes (14 boxes per row). If the user selected 15 rows, every row below 15 should be "Enabled = False".Thus far, I've coded a bunch of if-thens that run each time the user changes the selected rows (a line for each text box that makes it enabled or not). There are then 40 if-thens with lots of code in each. I am sure there is an easier way to accomplish my goal without using hundreds of lined-up text boxes.

The msgbox and end is just in there for debugging purposes. This always returns all 0s, even when I know that there is something in the recycle bin.

I have two menu items from which I choose the interface language of a program (English or French).I want either of them to be chosen, both can not be chosen at the same time. I went over the properties of ToolStripMenuItem object and saw three properties that are confusing (Checked, CheckState and CheckOnClick), how can I mix them so that I get that functionality, I mean that when I check the French, the English gets unchecked and vice versa.
