Sep 14, 2011i have a panel docked at the top of my form with a button and a textbox. Also have a webbrowser docked below the panel filling the rest of the form.when i run the form and maximize it, the panel and webbrowser resizes correctly as they are docked but the button and textbox stays where it is, how would i make the button and textbox always stay center screen so if i maximize it will be center.

Sep 23, 2009I want to put two different groups of radio buttons on my form. How do I specify which button is in which group? I don't know which propert to change.At the moment VB assumes that they are all part of the same group.
I am using Visual Basic 2005 Express. I have previously worked with VB in MS Access, where you can put a frame around groups of radio buttons, but I can't find any such control in 2005 express.

Jan 29, 2010I am creating an interface with several textboxes and HTML component and several buttons.But when I drag any textbox onto the existing form they line up vertically one under the another or they attach directly together on the same row. I want to be able to drag and drop and place these as well as the HTML component wherever I need on the form. In VB6 I simply selected what I needed and placed it with ease. I have buttons 1 - 13 (A-K)
I have 5 Textboxes which when the above buttons are pressed displays the values in the textboxes.
I also have one more textbox which adds up the values of the above 5 textboxes to give your Black Jack Total.
The problem I have is if an Ace (11) is in one of the textboxes and the Total Value exceeds 21 I need to have the Ace (11) change its value to 1 instead.
textbox 1 - 5 will be the card values
textbox6.text will be the total Value
I have tried......
if textbox6.text > 21 and textbox1.text = 11 then textbox1.text = 1
This seems to work fine however it only solves the problem of an Ace (11) appearing in textbox1.text so i tried to repeat the code with the other boxes...
if textbox6.text > 21 and textbox1.text = 11 then textbox1.text = 1
if textbox6.text > 21 and textbox2.text = 11 then textbox2.text = 1
if textbox6.text > 21 and textbox3.text = 11 then textbox3.text = 1
if textbox6.text > 21 and textbox4.text = 11 then textbox4.text = 1
if textbox6.text > 21 and textbox5.text = 11 then textbox5.text = 1
However this does not work and my program freezes?

Mar 26, 2009I am currently using VB 2008 and there is a form I'm using which contains a listview control. I am dynamically filling the listview with groups and items. After I fill it up, it is supposed to look like this:

Each item is specific for each group. The problem I have is that when I maximize the form to full size, and everything expands, the items change positions into something like this:

How can I make the listview keep the items in the "row" view always, instead of the "column" view whether I maximize or not?

VS 2008 Properties In 'groups' (class) In Designer (property Grid)?
Jul 29, 2009I'm creating a UserControl that draws a simple radial gauge. I need it to be very customizable; the user should be able to customize everything such as the colors, fonts, sizes. So, I just made a property for every customizable detail. For example, I had ScaleFont, ScaleColor, ScaleStart, ScaleEnd, ScaleInnerRadius, ScaleOuterRadius, ScaleTickmarkFrequenty, etc.. etc.. etc...
Because there are so many properties about the same subject, I wanted to 'group' these properties into one "property". I've seen this done loads of times in third party controls, but I've never done it before myself.The idea is that the properties can be accessed like

Me.Gauge1.ScaleSettings.End = 80
...
So far, I tried creating a class for each group, for example a clsScaleSettings class, containing properties like Font, Color, Start, End, InnerRadius, OuterRadius, TickmarkFrequenty, etc (corresponding to the same properties as above).
Then, for every 'group' or class, I create a Property. For example, I have the ScaleSettings property, which simply returns an instance of the clsScaleSettings class (I initialize the instance only once of course):

Now, this works in the code editor. I can now use

for example, and it sets the font correctly.But, I does not work in the designer, in the Property Grid. The whole reason I made the effort to move and rename nearly all properties (about 70!), and all references to those properties, to separate classes, was so that the user could design the gauge more easily using the Property Grid!Instead of having 15 settings related to the scale, scattered all over the Property Grid, he can now have one ScaleSettings property, which he can expand, and then he can edit the properties of that group easily.The ScaleSettings property is greyed out in the property grid... So I cannot expand it and view it's underlying properties.

Mar 3, 2012I have a piece of software with two tabs, inside each tab there are buttons (the user can add the buttons when they want). when tab1 is full tab2 should start to fill. I currently know how many buttons fit on the screen so I just say something like if buttons > 150 then start to populate tab 2 The problem i have now though is if the resolution is changed then a different amount of buttons can be displayed. so if I put my screen to 1280x720 some buttons are left of. I was thinking of detecting the resolution and then using different cases for different resolutions but this seems very inefficient im wondering if there is a different way?

Feb 5, 2010What I would like to do is to have four different buttons (e.g., buttonA, buttonB, buttonC and button D). I wanna give the following instruction to the people: press these buttons in the following order: first buttonA, then buttonB, then buttonC and last buttonD. If they obey this instruction then a picture will be displayed, for instance a happy face. All the other combinations will not activate this picture to be displayed, or in other words, there won't be any consequence. I would also like to save this data using windows note pad e.g., writeline (1, xxxxxx). Is there any chance I will make it?
