VS 2008 Custom Code On BindingSource_AddingNew Event?
Apr 16, 2010
i have a BindingSource Bound to a DataTable which is bound to a DataGridview. I have Insert, Update, Delete commands etc. Private Sub InitialiseDataAdapter()
[Code]...
You cannot set the NewObject property when bound to a DataView or DataTable because you cannot add a new DataRowView to the list.
To the point: I need to transfer a custom object's event through a generic collection object containing these items so that any class using the collection can see that changes were made to one of the items in the collection.
I.E. An item event that triggers a collection event
[Code].....
Due to the application requirements, I need the Collection and Items to send immediate notice of various changes that occur to the Collection Class and its items. I've already got my events set-up regarding for the Collection Class, but I'm struggling with coming up with a workable solution for raising events for the items.
I've got an event for the DeviceLayer item set-up, but how do you transfer that event through the CollectionClass so that any other class using it will see that there was a change to one of the items in the collection?
I have a form that is populated with specific data for each user. The user chooses this data themselves.I plan on saving this data in the application settings or via xml serialization.What I want to do, is allow users to generate a unique code for that data so that they can supply this code to others and all they will have to do is copy and paste it into their client and that data will populate for them.I could just allow users to trade XML files, but I want it to be easier than that.The form is basically setup this way;
Picture - Data 1, Data 2, Data 3, Data 4 Picture - Data 1, Data 2, Data 3, Data 4
The pictures correlate to pictures that are numbered anywhere from 0-600. The data can be any integer value from 0 - 200.
I've read thru Iceplug's tutorial on control arrays and got it working. I tried to add a new event by basically copying his click event code and calling it a doubleclick event. I used the proper addhandler and assigned the correct name to my sub. I have the click event changing the background color to blue and the doubleclick event changing the background color to green. The background color does not change to green. Why?
Heres the tutorial with my new code encased in asterisks ...
how to generate code from user input. In Visual Studio 2008, Visual BasicI am new to this so I will try to explain the best I can.[code]I would also like to have these available on the UI but wont generate unless a user checks a box to add them or there is a box already for them but wont step into the code unless the user enters something into the box.Is there anyone that can explain how I would go about doing this. Or maybe some kind of visual studio plugin that will help me out. Or reference?I don't need anyone to do this for me I just need an explanation of how to do this or some kind of reference. Would this be a text template?
How to generate code from user input. In Visual Studio 2008, Visual Basic. My script always begins with:
Code: function Init(Quest) Then from here a user would input a quest name, type and zone in a interface using windows forms. Ex: Code: RegisterQuest(Quest, "Kill Zombies", "Heritage", "Firestorm") end This part a user would enter in his interface what would an NPC say if accepted. [Code] .....
What I need is a few text boxs that a user can input "Kill Zombies" or whatever they like and when they push a generate button it will create a file with a .quest extension. All of the code remains the same except for the quotes that would be the user input from the interface. Basically everything in quotes can be changed by the user in an interface. I have created my own functions for when a user accepts, deny and complete a quest. The user just needs to input what should happen then click a generate button to throw it all together as a .quest file to be saved in his or her quest folder for the server to call on later.
I also have many other functions like: AddQuestRewardFaction --- (Quest, Faction ID, Amount) AddQuestRewardCoin --- (Quest, Copper, Silver, Gold, Plat) AddQuestStepObtainItem --- (Quest, Step ID, Description, Quantity, Percentage, TaskGroupText, Item ID(s)) Etc
I would also like to have these available on the UI but wont generate unless a user checks a box to add them or there is a box already for them but wont step into the code unless the user enters something into the box.
I have the following code in "Custom Code" in SSRS 2008. It works fine in VS2008 but it won't run on the server:
Public Shared Function Ns(ByVal num as Object, ByVal def as Object) as Object if IsNothing(num) OrElse Not IsNumeric(num) OrElse System.Double.IsNaN(num) then return def
I've created a schedule panel, drawing some lines, and adding some labels,as in image(blue, red and green are labels added by code). Now I've put some code to show the number for each cells, for that I've used Paint event of the panel but this slow the paint event, and after some investigation I found that the paint event was raised for some 20 time on my first form shown. Is there a place to put this code to run only once ?
Simply stated, I want to call the Panel1_Paint event handler from the Button1_Click event. Is this possible? If so, How? IE: Click the button and it paints the panel.
Dim NewButton As New Button frmDownload.Controls.Add(NewButton )
This works. But I want to change what happens upon clicking NewButton. It should start an application. I tried NewButton.Click but that event doesn't exist.
About some coding in visual basic.NET 2005. I was wondering if it was possible for code to be altered automatically if a certain event was triggered. For example; would it be possible for you to alter the following structure, say if a a button was pressed?
The structure is as follows:
Structure ClientDrawings Public ClientID As String Public Drawing_1 As String
I'm not even sure what I need to know. None the less lets say I got a timer with an if event to check if said event is triggered then it fires off some code. The problem is if said event is triggered it keeps firing off the code and I only need to do it one time. Whilst letting the timer keep checking if event happened. I hope I worded that right and here is a rough translation in code. [Code] Is there a way to keep checking if an event happened and only fire off the code one time?
send me sample code for SelectedIndexChanged event for Combobox , whn i change value in Combobox through SelectedIndexChanged event then data should be change in Other Combobox and Textbox.B`se i am tring a lot for this but last i am not able to get.In load Event i bind the data in Combobox control .
If All controls bind the same table then how can do code?? and if controls bind different tables then how can do code??
I made a UserControl with a button on it. I then added that UC to a form by dragging from the toolbox. Now I want to be able to access the click event of the button on that UC control in the form code. How do I do that?
I need a event that receives the position/location of an control, for example a Image-control, which i move with an animation. So I found some code from this post that I need, but I can't figure out where to put the code.Should I put it in some event e.g. the windows loaded event or what? What am I missing?
C#: var topDescriptor = DependencyPropertyDescriptor.FromProperty(Canvas.TopProperty, typeof(Rectangle));
I am creating an application which has n numbers of tabpages in three different tabcontrols. some of the tabpages are having graphs and rest of them are having some other calculations based on the data of focused graph tabpage. What i want is when user selects different tabpage containing graph the data of the graph tab should be passed to all the other tabpages using the data to calucate. There is one way which i get is to loop inside all the tabpages, but i want to raise an event from the graph page and handle the event in all the rest of the calculation pages.
I am trying to develop a VB .NET Windows Form Application FTP client that uses the C# .NET FTPLibrary.dll that I obtained from The Code Project article "A Windows FTP Client". I am also converting and using significant amount of the code from the article which, for the most part, I have been able to successfully convert to VB .NET using Developer Fusion's C# to VB code converter. The dll has a new message handler (NewMessageHandler) which is used in the article's main form (frmMain). There is a C# .NET statement in the SetFtpClient() method of frmMain that I am unable to convert to VB .NET. I have boxed the statement I need help with converting to VB .NET with " ===== " statements. [code]
am trying to call a very lengthy set of code from under the DoubleClick event of one control, from within the Click event of another control....without having to copy and paste the desired VERY length code from the first control into the second.
I have a problem to handle an event on a custom control a have on a form.... So first i made a custom control that is just a groupbox with some labels and txtboxes. That control i add dynamically to my form like this (Baycontrol is the name of my control)
Declaration
Code: Friend Bay(29) As BayControl Add the controls to Form Code: For Simindex = 0 To 29 'Me.Bays - 1
I've got a page (aspx) that contains a usercontrol (ascx). On postback of the aspx, I'd like to read some control values in the ascx. So upon reading some good articles, I created an event in my aspx that fires on postback. The event handler is in the ascx, and simply writes the values I'm interested in to the viewstate so that the parent page can read them. The problem is my event handler never gets hit, even though I see the event is raised as I step through the code. So my code bombs when trying to read the viewstate (which is empty)[code]Oh, did I happen to mention I'm dynamically loading the ascx? :)
(using vb 2008 I am learning the workings of Custom Events. I think they might solve the problem of being unable to declare nonserialized events in vb2008. However, do custom events follow any sort of inheritance pattern like classes
I'm pretty sure i'm not doing this right but i hope by asking this someone can show me the right path.I've created a function that creates a label and 7 checkboxes arrays . So depending how many names i get from my database, it creates that many for the label and the other checkboxes.
Now my function is inside a module which i call in my Class Form during "Load".
So what i want to do is be able to code in an event where the user checks on one of these
I never did custom events and would like to make a sub procedure execute via a custom event from another form that does not have the custom event defined. For example I would like to raise the event from my ok button in one form and have the event in the other form execute. How to set this up using code examples?
Dim L As New Label AddHandler L.Click, AddressOf Labclick Me.Controls.Add(L)
I know how to do click events but how how do i make an event for it that does something when the mouse hovers over one of the Labels?for example if the mouse hovers over a label it changes text color to RED...when mouse leaves it changes back to BLACK?
I have a Windows Service project designed to monitor an email account and make entries into a SQL Server database when certain emails arrive. This is a rewrite of a similar winforms program that works just fine, except that it requires that the computer be logged into an account and the program started manually, which I can avoid by using it as a service. In the service I maintain a list of logged messages - basically just a string and a timestamp indicating that something has happened. (That list is shared out over a WCF service but I think that's immaterial, at least at the moment.) In my custom class I declare a public event, and elsewhere I raise that event. For some reason, though, the RaiseEvent isn't being run in the service. For example:
[code]...
The problem in this case is that _pc_HandleEvent isn't ever being called. If I duplicate this setup in a regular winform program, everything works like it should. What am I doing wrong? How do I get a service to handle events raised from other classes?
I'm writing a custom textblock control thats populate hyperlinks and raises event when clicked to hyperlink.
I wrote this code but I got stucked.
My code is :
Imports System.Text.RegularExpressions Public Class CustomTextBlock Inherits TextBlock
[Code]....
This code gives error at RaiseEvent Klik(sender, EventArgs.Empty)
Error is : Cannot refer to an instance member of a class from within a shared method or shared member initializer without an expliticit instance of the class.
I have an image of the political map of the USA. I want to write separate click events for each of the 50 states in Visual Studio. How would I do that?
i am asking that can i use c# language to implement "actions" fired on "click side events" such as mouse over the reason for this stupid question is that i remember some syntax of registering functions for particular events of formview, which are call when the event occurs (yes there ispostback involved" is something like the above possible for client side events using c# or even vb.net
