Dllregisterserver Entry Point Is Not Found?
Jan 27, 2003Recently, I upgraded VB6 project to VB.Net. After that I can sucessfully compile the project and generate a DLL file in the bin folder, but when I try to use regsvr32 command to register the DLL, I got error saying "DllRegister Server Entry Point is not found".
And I cannot remove it from memory, if I want to use my old DLL.

Dec 9, 2010I need to create a COM-callable DLL using VB.NET 2010 that can be opened by a legacy VB6 application. I'm experimenting with a very simple demo example first. When I try to register the resulting DLL with regsvr32, it shows me this error:"DemoCounter.dll was loaded, but the DllRegister Server entry point was not found. This file cannot be registered."Here are the steps I followed:
1. Create new VB.Net project as a class library.
2. Delete the class1.vb file it starts with.
3. Add a new class from template "COM Class"
4. Build the DLL and try to register it.
The class has the GUIDs, the <COMCLASS ...> stuff, and has a checkmark in the "Register for COM Interop" checkbox of the project settings.[code]

Apr 18, 2012I have created a dll using class library in visual studio 2010. This dll calls another dll to perform some special calculations. I want to deploy the whole setup in excel vba and it had worked properly on the PC, on which I have generated the dll. The top cover dll is automatically registered in the registry list and i did not use the "regasm" to register it...
Now when i try to use this on a different PC (Win7 x64 OS, No Visual Studio), I'm facing problems. I am unable to register the dll with regasm, as I dont have it. When i use regsvr32 i get the Error "dll was loaded but DllRegisterServer entry point was not found"

Sep 3, 2009I dowload winscard.dll(Version 5.1.2600.2180) from online to use inside my program. When I try to register it in both system32 and my project folder, I faced the following error. "winscard.dLL was loaded, but the DllUnregisterServer entry point was not found." I can't even unregister it.

Fairly straight forward as I have the button Produce to act upon my code and update my salestrans.mdb but,if you scan the bar code I want the same form to handle both 'real' actions, (i assume that keyboard emulation barcode scanner includes "ENTER" after providing 13 digits)....
Q. in perhaps a long winded way i want to know how to kick off an event based on the "ENTER" key being activiated by the barcode scanner)?i do not want to have to hit any buttons if i am scanning bar codes.

1. Does bar code reader generate a keydown (or keypress) event for each of the digits of the entry? For example, if the barcode read: 1234567890, does that mean that there will be 10 keydown (or keypress) events for that single barcode that was read?
2. I have read from the posts that the best way to differentiating keyboard vs bar code input is to analyse the time between keystroke (for less than certain number of milliseconds).

VS 2008 SQL Server - Notified When A New Entry Is Added?
May 15, 2010I have a VB.Net application that connects to a SQL Server database on my web host at GoDaddy. I'm wanting to use it for a chat program so that users can add messages to the database and then everyone else gets the new messages when it re-queries the database.
The only problem is that the only way to get the new messages is to re-query the database every # seconds.
Is there any way to have my program not re-query the database until an entry is added by another user?Would the SQL.SQLNotificationRequest be used for this?
VS 2008 - Class Module Gets Data Entry From Form
Dec 16, 2010I've been coding a Windows applicaton for the past seven months but there aren't a lot of "windows" in the application so I have a question on getting and returning data from forms. I display a form and the user makes a listbox selection then presses Ok. Normally I can proceed from there (in a class module) with values from the config file, but sometimes his selection will require me to ask for more information. So I want the class to display a form, pass control to it, then when the user hits OK on this form, return to the class. What is happening is the class continues with all its inline code and function calls and doesn't show the form until the end of its current function.

When I run and step through this code, I find I'm in x() before I even saw the form. x() needs the data the user has entered on frmAbc in order to continue.

Jan 6, 2010I have a solution which upon a button push, loads a PDF into the application for viewingThe loaded PDF is an index page linking to other PDFs. This all came off a CD of a VendorMy client want me to create a "Job Book" of all the CDs from these vendors.Here is the issue.When select the button for a particular document, the front page of the PDF (Index Page) load fine. The loaded PDF has buttons as links to the various pdfs so when I select a button within the loaded PDF I get a message stating it cannot find the pdf requested. The buttons within the index pdf are all set to relative path so all the folders should be available. but alas the program does not find them.

Jul 16, 2010Once again I've ran into a (at least for me) weird problem, which I can't figure out.I have a form which allows users to send an email with an attachment and also stores the email in an accessdatabase. When sending an email without an attachment, there is no problem and all is saved to the database.
But when sending an email with an attachment, it produces an error that the database is not found, and therefore nothing is saved to the database.
