Apr 5, 2010I have a listbox that gets populated with files paths based on search terms provided by the user. I want the user to be able to select multiple items on the listbox, and then be able to export the files listed to another folder. See the attached image for what I'm talking about.
The problem I'm having is that I don't know how to take the items selected and turn them into a string array. Everything else I can figure out, but this one has me stumped.

Nov 29, 2009I have a program where you have three entries, CD name, artist, price and it goes into a listbox and .txt file when closing. I have to have a message box if you enter the same CD name. I have a code to open the .txt file and compare strings but I need to change it to compare only the CD name and not all three entries. Is there a way to do my string compare against my listbox without opening the .txt file?? The program loads the listbox from the .txt file when opening. Jan 26, 2009I am having problems with copying from one listbox to another and keeping the paths of the files in the listbox's. At the moment i have two listbox's, listbox1 shows the list of files without the directory paths showing. Listbox2 is used to add items from listbox1 which work ok but what i need is to be able to preserve the directory paths to each file. how to do this and have searched high and low for a solution without any luck.
I have worked out one way of doing it but i think there is a better way of doing it as the reverse does not seem to work. So basicly i want listbox1 to list the files without the paths and pass it on to listbox2 so that the files can be copied to temp directory as they are being add to listbox2.

If i use the code below i can find and auto highlight Paul, Frank, Jacob but never finds anyone after the first like Mary, or Bill.

Oct 6, 2009i wish to make something similar to a command-line kind of thing in which one can type a series of words and the program will run the string through a function that splits up the words uses the first word string to find which function needs to be run and makes the other word strings as parameters of the function to run. its kind of like a odd interpreter based scripting language however once this problem is addresed i have a seperate issue.
i then need to output to a new entry on a ListBox that would be named as a parameter of the first function that splits and such that i explained above.
however i do not know of what i can use to input the name of the listbox only then have that add an entry from within the function.
i wish to do it this way so as not to be tied down to the same naming conventions of the list box every time i use it.
in the end i would like to main function to do all of the above and be called simply like this: Comand2Function(inputstring, outputlistbox)
